  1. Y'all no comment on my halo3 mixthread so i make new one link: http://www.bstrader.net/remixes/shesasquirter.mp3 sources: und mod review because i want to sub this to overclocked remix (the site)
  2. Hello everyone, this is my first remix! I've composed a bunch of songs with FL Studio some time ago, but now I decided to give it a try remixing one of my favorites songs ever, the damn fine Streets Of Rage Intro Theme by master Yuzo Koshiro. What I've done here is kinda a double version of the SoRI and SoRII Intros, with some little additions, and of course with 100% new instruments. Anyways.. overall I tried not to change the structure of the original tracks that much, but still I think this remix has its own flavour. I worked a lot on the drums, snares, drumrolls, hats and everything related to percussion, beath and rhythm, which I think are the most notable aspects of the original songs (even though they are pretty simple 16-bits drumbeats) You can hear the final version of the remix here: - Sources: SoR I Intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hikFCwduCIQ SoR II Intro: Old demo I made some months ago: Thanks in advance, any type of comment will be incredibly helpful!
  3. I don't usually post mixes cause I do projects, BUT this is non-project and it's still fairly new so I'd like people to hear it while it is fresh. Halo 3 - In Memoriam Music video : direct link : http://www.bstrader.net/remixes/inmemoriam.mp3 Sources: Never Forget http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyDZscyf8lU Finish the Fight Halo[??] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a37BNAqsmlQ Also I can't sub this for like 6 weeks so have at it
  4. Here's a hiphop (?) mix I've been working on for a while that's a fairly loose adaptation of the Mute City theme from the SNES F-Zero. Let me know if anything pops out that you think should be improved. I'm still not satisfied with the scratching, so let me know if you have any ideas. Also, feel free to lay down some lyrics on top. You just gotta post what you've done in this thread Source: NEWEST VERSION (2012/01/02): http://tjnekko.com/TJ Nekko - Straight Outta Mute City 016 - Rough Final.mp3 OLD http://tjnekko.com/TJ%20Nekko%20-%20Straight%20Outta%20Mute%20City%20-%20Final%20006.mp3 http://tjnekko.com/TJ%20Nekko%20-%20Straight%20Outta%20Mute%20City%20-%20Final%20005.mp3 http://tjnekko.com/TJ%20Nekko%20-%20Straight%20Outta%20Mute%20City%20006%20-%20Rough%20Final.mp3 http://tjnekko.com/TJ%20Nekko%20-%20Straight%20Outta%20Mute%20City%20009%20-%20Rough%20Final.mp3
  5. I've been working hard to understand proper EQing techniques and trying to figure out what I have been doing wrong. I think I'm making some progress, so I wanted to test myself. I dug up an extremely old WIP I did back in 2006. This remix is actually the predecessor to "The Delay." I didn't like how it sounded back then, so I started back over, and made what is now posted up on OCR today. At first, it was kind of an industrial percussion style mix, but now, I've made it into a Trip-Hop style song. I was heavily influenced by Radiowar's "Intoxica" (a track on the upcoming DKC3 album). I loved the vibe so much, I just had to give it a try. I have it posted up on YouTube for right now, since SoundCloud was acting crazy. I'll try it again later. 6. Hello all- this is my first attempt at a remix, so any and all feedback is very welcome. I am rather green around the gills when it comes to mixing/production/digital music in general, so try use small words and speak slowly. Oh, and I'm pretty new to forums as well, so hopefully I'm doing everything okay. Anyway, here it is- Free MP3 download: My Favorite Couch-001.mp3 source: http://youtu.be/PGwfBvW3YA8 Thanks much!
  7. Hello guys, I first applied with this remix a bit more than a year ago, but thankfully it was rejected for I have now changed pretty much the whole song but I don't feel it's quite done yet... http://soundcloud.com/bohmaniac/jet-force-gemini-water-ruins-1
  8. Finally figured out many of the tricks to producing nice, filthy dubstep, so I decided to move forward with a concept for a dubstep medley of various dark themes from the Pokémon RPGs. Here's what I've got so far. I got kinda lazy at the end, so I'll probably go back and do a few more manips, but for the most part, I'm pretty satisfied with it. :3 EDIT: Final FINAL final mix! I thought it was perfect last time around, but it turns out I'd forgotten to stereo-enhance the wobble basses. ^^; Fixed that! Sources: Pokémon R/G/B/Y - Team Rocket Hideout, Silph Co. 9. Hey everyone! It's been a looong time since I made a non-project arrangement, so here we go! My new policy is to remix underdog music, which probably means I'm condemning myself to empty threads and dusty mixes. But hey, it's still better than remixing Aerith's theme! (Don't get me wrong--I like it, but not as remixing material.) Anyway, you can listen to (and/or download) my arrangement of Godom Lullaby from Paladin's Quest here: http://www.reverbnation.com/jakacibejarchangel UPDATE: A more polished version. And here's the video with the source track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AArRIArXzY You can hear most of it from 8:27 onward. It's pretty short, just a 30-second melody. The song's pretty much done, but I'd still appreciate any feedback you guys and gals might have. Thanks for listening! J.
  10. Sources: - Digimon World 1 - Machinedramon Battle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTwb0FT1k9s - Digimon World 2 - Normal Battle Theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKgvvDevskQ - Xenogears - Awakening http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMXr2hKIgMw Hardest part was probably mixing the drums, and there could be some more work done there. I like the sound I got with the gated distorted synth, serves as some kind of driving force. Upbeat tune, fit for a final boss, hope you enjoy it
  11. Finally finished the band compression on this thing, made the lows punchy, the highs Sqeal, and the upper mids..ehhh knock hard. The IceCap Fm lead was made in fm 8, just incase anyone is going to ask. No I will not post the routing, modulator, or the matrix. use your imagination if you want it. (All I will say is I used a Sine) (im posting all my Fm 8 patches that I made later.) *Edit, I realized I use FM8 ALOT http://soundcloud.com/aires/ice-cap-deep-preview EDIT 2:: Im planning to submit this, but not sure if I should wait and sub the vocal version.
  12. CURRENT VERSION: Version 4 I'm currently working on a lone wolf remix album called "Generation Gap". The idea is to take Genesis-era Sonic tracks and remix them in a style reminiscent to newer Sonic games. Though it'll be a KNGI release, I'd like some tracks to make it to OCR. I think this could be one of those tracks. As the title implies, it's a punk remix. Crits/suggestions very welcome, and said crits/suggestions may go a long way in making the whole album better. EHZ Punk (Triple-Mohwak Redux) v1 (Outdated, here only for comparison to current version)
  13. Hey all! Heralding from the Freshly Baked Remix Challenge, I came up with this remix of for the NES. I'm considering subbing this one to OCR, so are there any thoughts on it? There are a couple of things I'm eyeing myself, but I'd like to hear a second opinion before I spit shine it and send it to the J's.Felix's 9-bit Funk (By the way, for those that saw this in the compo, I changed the name because I don't want two mixes with the 'X feels Y' naming scheme posted under my name ).
  14. Mod Review Version : http://www.darangen.com/music/39%20ReFinding%20Who%20We%20Are.mp3 ---------------------------------------------- Killer Instinct - Finding Who We Are Killer Instinct - Finding Who We Are (Instrumental)(since I know some people aren't going to want vocals) Original Source: Recently submitted this to OCR, but it was declined by the judges. Judges Decision I'm currently working on a few other things, but plan on tweaking a few things for resubmission in the near future.
  15. Kind of a schizophrenic piece that jumps around the different themes quite a bit and has some weird experimental sound design. Sources: (The most predominant one) (Kind of a cameo) (Shows up just before the outro in my remix)One thing you may notice about these source tracks is that they are extremely fucking awesome. Kinda hard to do them justice, but I tried my damnedest My mix: http://tindeck.com/listen/yere (Latest) Tell me what you think. EDIT: Source Breakdown 0:00-0:06 Original At 6 seconds, the main drum pattern comes in. this is predominant in the first song I linked. It's such a badass beat that I chose to base most of the mix on it. 0:06-0:18 Here the bass part from the first track comes in. In the original it comes in right along with the drums. 0:18-0:24 This is the first half of the melody from the chorus in the first source track. 0:24-0:30 The main bassline comes in with the main drum pattern. There is an original melody panned to the right. 0:30-0:42 Here is the chorus melody again, completed this time. 0:42-1:06 Familiar drum and bass pattern... 1:06-1:48 The rhythmic percussive sound from the very beginning of the second tune I linked shows up pretty quiet and then at 1:12 it takes the stage. The chorus melody shows up again and plays a couple times. 1:48-2:03 A sample from the third linked track shows up behind that same bass/drum pattern from earlier. 2:03-2:27 The melody here is from the part at exactly 2:17 in the third track I linked. 2:27-END A bunch of effects wankery on the main drum pattern from the first track.

  17. Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?mrvvqambhojppgn Backup Link: Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbzZqgZiLBo One aspect I enjoy about a remix is how it can not only stir old memories but also how it can put them under a new light. When I was invited to contribute to the "Harmony of a Hunter" project, one of my goals was to produce a song that completely contrasted the style of the original song. I decided to choose one of the more recent popular tracks in the series, Samus vs. Rundas. To write such a contrasting piece, I decided to go with something I'd never done before: a piano solo. I'd always wanted to release a piano solo, but I was never too sure how to go about it. I would always put it off for a later date. With the newly set deadline of the 25th Anniversary and "Harmony of a Hunter", I sat down and began to work. I went through several iterations for the introduction. One version even sounded very similar to JigginJonT's "The Flooded Plain", a piece that was very influential to me. I ended up restructuring the first three chords of the original theme. At the beginning, I had included the second phrase of the battle in the arrangement. I could never quite get it to fit with the rest of the song. It just didn't work with the emotions of the rest of the song. I ended up with this little improvised part that I loved so much, that I decided to replace it in the final song. And there you have it. I present a song that's dedicated to the memory of Rundas. Enjoy.

  19. Hi! Here is my completed version of Green Hill Zone. It is inspired by Sonic. After playing around with the first two versions, I got my old Yamashita Tatsuro tapes out I got in Japan in the 80's and fell in love again with his style. Please tell me what you think...
  20. Hey there. Here is a neat little thing I made a few weeks ago. Please tell me what you think of it! ReMix: http://tindeck.com/listen/rjod Source:
  21. Source Old version (version 0): http://compo.thasauce.net/files/Binweasel_-_Trust_Your_Instincts(PRC156).mp3 Latest Version (5) - 7/11/11 So, right now I only have my iPhone earbuds to work with... Hopefully that explains if things got worse between the two versions? XD Sample breakdown: The piano (I think; I found a .sf2 with the same name): http://sonimusicae.free.fr/matshelgesson-maestro-en.html How does it sound? Realistic? Crummy? The organ: I used Electric Organ 1 and 4 on my Roland MT-32, then ran them through a tiny tube amp, a Boss CS-2 and a Boss CE-5. I'll probably end up using this on the final version—unless someone can recommend something better! The synth: 3 MT-32 instruments squeezed together again, this time run through an Ibanez DE7 echo/delay pedal. I reaaaally don't like how it turned out in the mix, though. I want to use the old version's synth, once I figure out how to get the timing better. The guitar: Using Reason's "Intimate Steel String" combinator, but replaced the NNXT instrument with a Taylor 410 refill thingy. I really want live guitar for this, so if anyone's willing to team up! The part at 1:01 is supposed to be kind of free-form picking, the speed varying, fast at first, slowing down for each chord change... but each bar of it is about the same pace, so it's weird. Should I keep that, or write a new part, or give the guitar a break? The bass: Not really sure what I used. The drums: Are a mix of a "Hard Rock Drums" soundfont I found, and Reason's RnB Soul Kit.
  22. Where Sheep Go When They Die http://tindeck.com/listen/bdol This was my entry for the first round of GRMRB 2011 http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=34694 The song is a remix of Sheep Man and Skull Man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7H257n8y1s Any feedback is appreciated. Feedback on production is especially welcome!
  23. Hey guys! I'm coming at ya with a brand new remix from Pokémon Black and White! It's the theme that plays within Celestial Tower and Dragonspiral Tower, named Tower of Heaven by Junichi Masuda and Go Ichinose. It's got some pretty creative stuff in it! Give it a listen and tell me what you think! Remix: http://www.box.net/shared/4gyv5csg4c Source:
  24. http://soundcloud.com/aires/jun-sa1-my-cover Nothing serious, guitar playing is not that great ither (plus i did not play the exsact chords at the riff cause i was lazy XD) just testing to see if i got his tone and my result tone sounds BAD imo, im using the peavy amp sim revealver. I did not get the right mids a tube amp like the 5150/6505 gives off Here, http://www.mediafire.com/?5da46fqqd5rs2e6 (62 mb) And yes the bounced version is very diffrent from my version and i dont know why ableton did not let you have cymbals lmao XD. And yes again Bounced version has all ableton stuff, my version does too except for the reverb. Im using a jackson Dinky Dk2 with a Seymore Duncan TB - 4 on the bridge and stack singles on mid and neck but im using the TB-4 for this one, just like juns sonic guitar. source:
