  1. Hi everyone, Everquest title screen. Early days yet, going for a big feel. Enjoy!
  2. My first contribution and 2nd post here! It's a little synthy take on the Goldeneye theme, with a few hints of Chaos Engine in there towards the later stages...let me know what you think! Scroll down for updated version.
  3. I've been meaning to actually complete a remix--I've started a few and then some matter of life or business interrupts the process and the roll of inspiration that brought me to the original idea is *poof* gone! So, here's hoping! Tejing requested this piece be remixed and I had an idea, so I kinda went with it. (Something starting out with some Hisaishi influence and going from there.) Also a good excuse to test-drive my new strings. At the current version, I'm feeling it's around 30% done, so quite a ways to go, but I thought I'd post for some initial feedback. Prisoners of Destiny Cheers, EDIT: Updated link, added on a bit of where I was planning to go. There's a cpu click near the end of this version, I know it's there, it won't be in the final (just have to track down the cpu inefficiency at that area) EDIT 2: Fixed the click
  4. Guess listening to The Hybrid Front OST helped develop some of the ideas in this one. http://www.tindeck.com/listen/emim
  5. I am in deep producing and promoting my project which is a sound art remix of George Orwell's novel 1984. I am mashing up samples from a 1950's radio recording of 1984 with field recordings, contemporary media clips, analog synth, drum machines and other madness. The first two tracks are posted here: http://www.artonair .org/archives/ j/content/ view/3138/ There is an interview about the work posted here: http://www.tokafi. com/news/ margaret- noble-remixes- george-orwells- 1984 So please take a listen and see what I am up to PS: I am still always pleased to share your work on my site Sound is Art, http://margaretnoble.net/soundisart Drop me a line!
  6. Hey y'all. I've been hovering around the site for a while and finally got around to registering. Anyways, I am beginning to dabble in making remixes of my own and I have my first one done (I hope!). It's a remix of Deku Nut's Palace from Majora's Mask. Please let me know what y'all think! I updated the song and you can listen to it here:
  7. Since I'm new on this genre, I'd like to get some feedback on this tune I'm making. http://soundcloud.com/fernito/chiptune-v4-1 Thanks in advance guys!
  8. Hey guys! I decided to take a break from work and put together a mix of my favorite song from TWEWY, a catchy J-Pop song called Calling. Instead, I'm doing it like a punk garage band. I'd love feedback on the singing, since I know that's my week spot. Production and arrangement are WIP but criticism and comments of any sort are always appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to listen, let me know what you think! Update! Totally re-recorded the vocals and updated the mixing. Take a listen! 9. Hello all! This is my first submission (first of many I hope). A bit about me, I don't know how to play an instrument (I'm learning guitar, but self teaching is hard). I use FL Studio 9 Producer Edition on my roommates computer (he's in college for music stuff) to do stuff with MIDIs as a form of stress release and this has somewhat become a hobby. I found OCRemix a few years ago form Project Chaos and decided to try my hand. Anyway, its an arrangement of the theme from the Lavender Town in PKMN RBY. I tend to stick with acoustic and realistic instruments and avoid synth and things like that. I know that I don't deviate away from the original track much and I know that it gets a bit repetitive in the middle and that after the climax of the song it ends a bit abruptly, but hey, its my first go!
  10. Original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umesvao4rnY Remix: http://www.box.net/shared/ubvdhmx78i Trying to do something more along the lines of commercial trance/progressive. A lot of levels and things need to be sorted out, it needs an intro prior to where it starts in the WIP and just more song. In the end I think it will be a pretty long-ish mix maybe over 6:30 or so. The original song has lots of content and I want to use a lot of the original ideas. Anyhow, comments are welcome.
  11. Hello, I wanted to introduce my work in progress. Hoping to find listeners and supporters. The project is hosted on public radio's Art on Air. There are two tracks: http://www.artonair.org/archives/j/content/view/3138/
  12. Some great WIP I'm probably never gonna finish for personal reasons. Uploaded for your enjoyment: http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=799
  13. I'm currently working on a remix of the "Uncharted Worlds" track from the original Mass Effect. Just thought I'd post what I've done so far and maybe get some response from you guys. The track might feel a bit empty right now, but I'm working on that. FL Studio 9 + Zebra2 plugin used. Bitrate: 192kbps Length: 2:26 Speed: 120BPM Ver. 1: http://www.skinnyt.com/media/new_worlds_wip.mp3 Ver. 2: http://www.skinnyt.com/media/new_worlds_wip.mp3
  14. Not finished at all yet, I'm still planning to add a less conservative section and an ending, but let me know what you think of it so far, do you like it? do you hate it? what can i improve? source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2fDCj8rFYQ Newest Version Nov 2010
  15. Hi everyone, got another new currently untitled WIP, this time it's Mega Man 7 and the Junkman theme It still needs to have an ending put on it, the drums need to be varied up (which I'll do as one of my last jobs, so please don't pick me up on it, I know it needs doing ) and the mixing lacks general polish at this moment. But it exists in complete enough form for you to get some idea where I'm coming from. NEW VERSION: http://cbnow.co.uk/theradicalsifu/Mega_Man_7_WIP_2.mp3 OLD VERSION: http://cbnow.co.uk/theradicalsifu/Mega_Man_7_WIP.mp3 Please be critical, brutally if necessary! All I ask is that you take the time to explain your comments, be they good or bad Thank you, hope you enjoy it
  16. Need some opinions on this rough mix of the song Unforgotten from Halo 2. Some may remember this as background music certain multiplayer and options menus. It's a softer piece to start with, but this mix takes it in a different direction with synthesized acoustic and electric guitars backed by a nice beat. Let me know what you think! http://www.mediafire.com/file/wnnyjniegra/Gone But Not Forgotten0.5.mp3
  17. Hello there OCRemix, I have a project that I've been working on for a while, and I have a lot of tracks to mix. So I've been at work on a midi rock template, using The Black Mages - Decisive Battle as a guide. Now, I don't have the end all best sounds in the world, so I want to at least capture the essence of what I'm trying to get across emotionally using the samples that I have here in Reason 4. I'm going to post here clips from this rock template. I know that I'm going to need different techniques for different parts of songs. Here's what I've got right now: http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=797 I'm not looking to use any other samples than the ones I have there, and I actually really like it as it is, and am ready to just use it like that... I'm just wondering if there might be anything else I could do effects wise, or leveling wise, or...etc... etc...? Any tips and tricks accompaniment wise, or effects wise that could make it....clearer I guess? Anything I should look for in arranging rock music that might be needed in my soundtrack? EDIT: What I mean by this is that I'm creating a midi template to convert GM midi files. Thank you for your time.

  19. Hey everybody... been a long time since i've been on OC remix, but with the upcoming release of Starcraft 2, I thought I'd throw in my hand at remixing. So, I dove into the Starcraft 2 sound library, and started chopping and rearranging. Also, I made my own technique for doing the protoss voice... This is what I got so far. "After the Broodwar, a group of protoss parted off from the rest of the tribe. With their peaceful interactions with select groups Terrans, they started to delve into the Terran arts, more specifically, Rap and Hip-Hop." A Protoss Rap/Hip-Hop Song. http://soundcloud.com/poolatka/today-was-a-good-day All the sounds are from the Protoss music, minus a couple key drums. I have all the lyrics written out, but not recorded or put in yet, but I added one phrase here and there just to fill it in for now. I thought I'd get your guy's advice on the music before putting the lyrics in.
  20. I made a remix of Soulcalibur 4's character creation music. After months of searching for the source, I found out that it is called "Infinite Images". Here is my remix. And here's the source. I'd like to hear your opinions on it.
  21. Hey all. Long time listener, first time poster! I've been making music for around 6 years now, and this is the first time I feel confident posting one of my works up here. It's a remix of the Red Soil Area song from Super Metroid. As it is, it's mostly finished, but I'd love some professional feedback. Critique away, guys! http://drop.io/Kabukimusic/asset/red-eye-brinstar
  22. Hi, it's been a while but here is a new version. New drums and some EQing: http://tabnewflax.com/wip/Tab_Newflax_Quick_Man_WIP4.mp3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello, here is an updated version. This one is a bit softer, personally though I kinda feel that the original version had more punch to it. Although I'm no expert at mixing. Appreciate feedback. http://tabnewflax.com/wip/Tab_Newflax_Quick_Man_WIP2.mp3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello, here is a remix of Quick Man's Theme. I would appreciate some feedback. Thanx http://www.tabnewflax.com/wip/Tab_Newflax_Quick_Man_WIP.mp3
  23. Hey Guyz, this is my first remix, I made it with the programm Cubase 5 I'd like to know, how yout think about it and what I could make better: Enjoy
  24. FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS: http://www.box.net/shared/0zu4kqsc9f (remix of Doopliss Encounter and Doopliss Battle) Originals: DOOPLISS ENCOUNTER: DOOPLISS BATTLE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTdlLqwQlBU Hello, I'm new to the forums. My name is Dreyfus. I stayed up from 3:00 in the morning to 5:00 writing this. It's my first remix, so I figured the best place to get critique would be OverClocked ReMix. I'm hoping you guys would be able to help me improve this. As stated above, this is a remix of both Doopliss themes from Paper Mario 2: The Thousand-Year Door. I was getting bored working on my re-orchestration of Twilight Trail, so I decided to do the Doopliss themes, but really in the end wrote more of a remix than a re-orchestration (and that's an understatement). It was originally going to be a remix of the Doopliss Encounter and Dimentio theme from Super Paper Mario, but I wound up using Doopliss' Battle music instead. I highly recommend comparing this to the originals, just because if you listen to it on its own you might not catch the remixed melody. The music when Mario encounters Doopliss is very repetitive and ambient, so I had to take just a few notes and turn them into a full-fledged song. So it sound like I've been pretty liberal with the melody, but if you pay close attention, you'll see that, actually, most of it is the same notes, just in a different rhythm. The music when Mario battles Doopliss, though, should be obvious when it comes in. Does anybody know where I could find a bell sound set? The best I have are the Tubular Bells, which just don't sound "bell" enough to represent the Creepy Steeple bell. Wrote this from scratch tonight in Sibelius. All instruments (except for the Euphonium, Bongos, and Tubular Bells) are sampled via Garritan Personal Orchestra. As a side note, the bongos sound a bit MIDI-ish; Sibelius' bongo samples are very strange, there isn't much I can do... Also, I think there's reverb missing from this song... It feels like the notes are ending differently than they did on Sibelius itself. INSTRUMENTATION: Woodwinds: 1 Piccolo, 2 Oboes (single part), 1 Bassoon, 1 Contrabassoon Brass: 1 Euphonium Strings: 2 Violin Sections, 1 Viola Section, 1 Cello Section, 1 Contrabass Section Percussion & Keyboards: 1 Timpani, 1 Snare Drum, 1 Crash Cymbal, 2 Bongos, 1 Tubular Bell, 1 Harpsichord, 1 Pipe Organ (no pedals), 1 Accordion Hope you enjoy! Thank you for taking the time to listen!
  25. Been messing around with this ever since last Punchfest...still working on the rest of the arrangement...thought I could receive some extra feedback in here for different effects...making sure everything seems solid so far. Enjoy!
