The Pezman
way to be a total Star Trek convention nerd though Nerd, or confused drummer who didn't think the patterns matched up. Either one's cool with me, but one's a bit more truthful.
OverCoat
I took a shitty webcam pic of my updated mixer. This is what it's been like since I've gotten it fully configured. I also docked my Zaku II Custom onto it for even more awesome:
Halt
More or less my current setup. Not pictured are a couple mics, and my guitars. It's a bit small, but it works.. :3 Dude. Thats a CLEAN ASS ROOM. Holy fuck.
prophetik music
josh is a pretty clean-cut guy =)
LuketheXjesse
My best friend has that EXACT same keyboard. ...er, if there's a pitch bender on the part of the keyboard that's cut out anyway...
Q.K.
Haha yeah. I like to keep it tidy. Haven't talked to you in a while, prophet. Those speakers would be the x530's. They're a pretty decent 5.1 surround sound system. I'm pretty sure they're not great for monitoring, but they sound nice :F The keyboard in question does have a pitch bend over on the left of it. It's the Yamaha DGX-620. Josh C. Agarrado also happens to have the same keyboard. (The guy that arranges tons of anime music for piano lol)
Lunarfall
First time posting pics. Need a mixer (getting this weekend maybe) and a big fucking monitor so I don't get eyestrain from my 14" laptop screen. 80% of my CDs are some kind of metal, 10% is classical, the other 10% is everything else. No diversity ftw. Will post instrument pics tomorrow.
prophetik music
may i suggest the acer 22" widescreen monitor? you'll have to get custom drivers to run widescreen off of a laptop, but it's under 200$ usually somewhere and it's a solid buy. Hy Bound
He suggested I get that Acer screen too. Its hot. Very hot.
Harmony
Best Buy online was offering that monitor at $50 this past weekend and as usual, I missed the awesome sale >
Steffan Andrews
Decent monitor for the buck. I have three.
Hy Bound
Well la dee da, you're musical e-penis is not only bigger than mine but plays wonderful, thought-provoking music as you pee. Congrats. Seriously though, I would like to get another two when I has da moneyz, I can imagine 3 of those being pretty handy.
prophetik music
Best Buy online was offering that monitor at $50 this past weekend and as usual, I missed the awesome sale > 50 OFF, mind you. different websites generally have it on sale for 30 or 40 off, and it's almost always free shipping which saves another 15-20. you can find it for 180$ usually, and it's TOTALLY worth the money. works well for general use and gaming, it's got nice color but not the best blacks. but it's half the cost of any other monitor out there with the same real estate. and it's really close to being the same vertical size as my 17" square, which is handy because there's not a distortion effect between the two. They're ridiculously cheap and pretty reliable. Plus, I wanted them all to match.
Nicole Adams
Okay, sure: My little setup: KRK RP-5 monitors Evolution MK-449C MIDI controller Custom-built computer featuring an Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 CPU running at 2.13 GHz, 3 GB of RAM, an E-MU 0404 sound card, an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT video card, a 500 GB hard drive and a ViewSonic 22" VG2230wm monitor (it definitely gets the job done...for now) Yeah, I know my monitors aren't in a great location. I'm still living at my parent's house so I'm limited on space. Once I move out next year I'm going to buy a mixer so I can set up my JP-8000, along with other stuff. I would like to purchase some studio headphones, but health issues have led to me holding off. :\
Lunarfall
I have that Tails figurine. I would kill for a 22" monitor right now, maybe working over spring break will get me some funds?
BlackPanther
That's a nice setup. I'm thinkin about gettin those speakers, how do you like 'em?

I would love it if you were right on this one, but nah, assuming my friend isn't lying, it was a $49.99 limited sale and he picked two up with tax+shipping for about $70 each. He now laughs at my Acer 20" that I paid almost 3 times as much for
Nicole Adams
I'm thinkin about gettin those speakers, how do you like 'em? I like them a lot. I would have preferred getting the Rokit 8 for a better bass response, but the Rokit 5 still gets the job done especially with the help of a spectrum analyzer. big giant circles
eh, the old rokit 5's (what nicole has) were pretty good, but they don't make them anymore. Instead, they have the new RP-5 G2's (generation 2s) which look more like their VXT line. And so far, I'm simply not impressed.
SnappleMan
I have a pair of the old rokits, they're great. Though, I really miss the KRK V-series... the V8s were my fave of all the monitors.

big giant circles
the M-audio BX5a's are not a bad substitute for the crappy new rokits in that price range. Or you might be able to still find an old pair new online.
The Vagrance
Yeah, I'd definitely go for an older pair. Monitors are one of the most important parts of my studio, and though they're not extremely nice ones they sound nice and give me a way better feel for a track than headphones.
