The Mutericator Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 people hate popular things, even if the popular thing is popular only to the minority of the culture. they don't dislike the game, they hate the fact that some people like the game.also, I wish this was Earthbound, I'd actually get to play through it all the way. I played it a little and like what I did play but didn't get much into beating it. but anything to improve the VC is good by me. I don't mind people liking the game, I mind how loudly they like it. Lucas' inclusion in Brawl caused a shitstorm about Mother 3 coming over here, the ESRB's accidental rating caused a shitstorm, every little unrelated clue causes someone to start yelling OMG IS IT EARTHBOUND?! I don't hate its popularity, or its popularity among a minority, I hate its popularity among a loud - and whiny - minority. Seriously, EB was a good game. Now move on and stop talking about it. Quote
Bleck Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 GOD WHAT PEOPLE ARE EXCITED ABOUT ON THE INTERNET MAKES ME SO ANGRY-rage Quote
Ferret Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Hey, Bleck, how fast can you hit the edit button and resize that to gargantuan? Quote

Lemunde Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 You do know that there are other consoles out there that end in 64 don't you? In fact there's a few games that end in 64 too. Quote
Native Jovian Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I guess there are more consoles called "Commodore" too? I have visited beautiful Commodore, PA along Route 286. Quote
Lemunde Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Meh, it's a longshot. I just fail to see how anyone can get THAT excited about C-64 games on the Wii. Quote
Schwaltzvald Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Let's see some translated Romancing SaGa 2 shall we..? Quote
The Mutericator Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 GOD WHAT PEOPLE ARE EXCITED ABOUT ON THE INTERNET MAKES ME SO ANGRY-rage Something like that, yes. It's impossible to evade or ignore EB fans, they're bloody everywhere. "QUICK GUYS THERE'S A HINT ON THE VC FOR SOMETHING COOL COMING UP IS IT EARTHBOUND HUH HUH HUH HUH HUH?! CAN IT PLEASE BE EARTHBOUND?!" I'm not particularly interested in C64 games, I just enjoy watching you all suffer. Quote
Overflow Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 I'm not an EB fan, I've never even played the game. I just know that it's become a cult classic and that everyone who's played it agrees that it's really good. I'd like to try it sometime. Plus, the hint Nintendo gave made me instantly think of EB (I didn't do any research or nothing), because the game takes place in an american town, right? Plus, I didn't think of anything else that Nintendo would consider a big enough deal that "if you’re a fan, your applause could rattle your walls, windows, door." besides EB. Because if it WAS EB, that is what would happen. Quote

Xenon Odyssey Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I'm not an EB fan, I've never even played the game. I just know that it's become a cult classic and that everyone who's played it agrees that it's really good. I'd like to try it sometime. +1 The thing in the hint that made all the american EB fans' balls even bluer was the fact that it only was describing places in America. If you had no idea what the places were called, you'd be prone to think that something was finally being released in America that has already been out elsewhere. Or you can be like me and think it was Cruis'n USA, only to find out it's already been on VC for a while Quote
jayc4life Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Also: Great Giana Sisters? Probably won't happen because of it's uncanny resemblance to Super Mario Bros. The game was made as a clone in the first place so it's not surprising really. How and ever, everyone owes it to themselves to get IK+. One of the best fighting games I've ever played. EVER. Hence the avatar use. Quote
Murmeli Walan Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Allow me to add more fuel to the EB fire: I bought it at a yard sale for a dollar about three years ago. It hasn't touched my SNES control deck yet. I'm sure it lives up to the hype that the rabid EB fanbase makes of it, but it just never seemed too special to me. Games make my wee wee tingle, ok? Quote
The Mutericator Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Internet Tough Guy it's actually kind of sad really Almost as sad as being a slobbering EB fan. Quote
