BardicKnowledge Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I'm having tons of fun testing out Groove Bias in Kontakt, but I'm sure you know what format I'd love to see: SFZ! Give all the folks out there who want high quality drums samples but can't yet afford a high quality sampler a chance Any word on progress towards this? I've heard from you (zircon) that you were looking into it. Quote
SenPi Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Question: Do both versions allow to select just the wav's themselves? I would assume yes but just wondering. Quote
zircon Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 Yep, the library in ANY format comes with all the WAVs, properly named and categorized by component. For example, the hierarchy of a snare rimshot looks like this: [Groove Bias] <-- Library name [samples] <-- Container for all audio [snare 3 Rim] <-- Container for kit component samples Snare 3 Rim v1 rr1.wav <-- Filename Very easy to use in any other sampler. As for sfz, it's planned, but not implemented yet. I'm working with the guys from Chicken Systems to get the conversions down. Quote
Sinewav Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Daaaang. These sound great. I wish I had the money . Quote
Dafydd Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I would buy these if they automatically made my music sound as awesome as virt's does. Quote

prophetik music Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 i use fl studio. which would be a better version to get? i have reason but i never use it. would it be worth it to get the kontakt version? what would i need to use that particular version? Quote
Yoozer Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Seeing that big harddisks are cheap as chips and that $10 more gives you 24/96 it's a no-brainer, really. http://flstudio.image-line.com/help/html/plugins/FPC.htm could load 'm up and do what you wanted. Quote
prophetik music Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 would i be able to load all the different choices in hits into that, too? i don't know if the fpc allows for multi-sampled hits with the same button. Quote
prophetik music Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 yeah, but i don't know what he uses for something like this. Quote
zircon Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 If you have Kontakt, I would definitely recommend the Kontakt version since it's already completely programmed. We don't, as of now, have an FPC-specific version. Programming the FPC isn't too hard - it can do multiple velocity layers no problem. However, I don't THINK it can do round robins. Quote
prophetik music Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 what do you use? kontakt? i got the player through a deal with another program, but i rarely use it. Quote
zircon Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 I use Kontakt, though the Reason version is pretty awesome, and if I used Reason I'd use that for sure You do need the FULL version of Kontakt, not just the player, to use external Kontakt libraries though. Another format possibility for you would be sfz when we finishi that... Quote
HoboKa Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Confused. How do you use the drum samples?? Do you NEED Kontakt or Reason to use them?? Quote
Zephyr Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 They come in multiple formats, you buy the one that best suits what you have, if you have Kontakt, you'd get that one, if you use Reason, then you'd probably get that, or you can use them individually as wav's. Quote
zircon Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Yep. Every version of the library comes with a massive folder tree of 3,500+ WAVs. Then, you pick the format you want the PATCHES to come in. You load the patches in a sampler so you don't have to manually map all those sounds yourself. In theory you can use the WAVs even if you don't have Kontakt, EXS-24, NN-XT or Halion, but it will be a pain. Quote
