Crulex Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 The build-up in the first few seconds was great. This really takes me back to when I first played the game. Drums sound great to me, and those guitars have the proper kick to give the song a lot of "battle energy". The nice bit starting from 2:00 was really enjoyable and I love the entire breakdown section. Very nice ReMix, Fishy. Quote
docnano Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I'm not a big fan of heavy rock guitar mixes, but I have to love the variety of textures and rhythms Fishy uses here. Just when I think it's going to get boring, he changes it up with another awesome riff or drum pattern. Also, nice syncopation/juxtaposition of rhythms in some of the part writing that does feel proggish to me. Quote
Nonamer Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I listened to this track while in the shower this morning. It reminds me of how Pokemon Blue was the first game I ever owned as a child. Quote
bobby1983 Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 I was too old to have appreciated the whole pokeman thing, I never played any of the games and only saw the tv show because of my baby brother. So I am not familiar with any of the pokeman music, but I really like this track. and all of fishys other tracks too!*** Quote
supernintendosp Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I've always loved the Pokemon series, and it's unfortunate I haven't had the money to get Black 2. But that's besides the point. What really matters is this original soundtrack, something of a hard-rock improvement that could easily have beaten the rock remix found in LeafGreen and FireRed. This remix simply builds continuously in adrenaline...and I love it. If anybody catches my drift, they will know where I'm coming from. It captures the mindset of the Trainer going for the Badge. It's an adrenaline-rushing fight that also has an element of cool and calculated. I don't know how else to say it. Well done. That's all to be said. Quote
swansdown Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 ! Red, I choose you :u Such a fun mix. Nice build up to 0:57. My favourite parts are 1:57-2:17 (especially that tiny shift at 2:07 which makes it feel a bit bad ass) and 3:12-3:31. Calming outro! :3 Quote
