Murmeli Walan Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 This is NOT the major announcement. This is what searching SDB on YouTube gets me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2P2CadYTug Yes, I know about Team USSR being a Russian folk tune. But this song has SDB sound effects in it, so I think that counts as something. Also, AkumajoBelmont's mix is much better than this.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 3/15/09: Now for the announcement that I've been teasing at: let's give a big welcome to the new coordinator for Around the World, fresh off the release of Summoning of Spirits: KyleJCrb! Kyle will be handling contacting remixers and filling up the last positions on the soundtrack, so please refer to him for anyone who is interested in filling up the remaining slots on the album. Also, AtW forums will be up soon at http://kngi.org/forum/index.php. Welcome again, Kyle!
KyleJCrb Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Alright, I'm already crackin' on this stuff, so I'll be talking to some of you guys soon. The forums are already up, so go ahead and register if you're a remixer for the project, I'll give you access to the private area for ATW. Thanks for letting me conduct a hostile takeove-I mean, help out with this, Walan.
Mae Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Oh maaaaaaan, KyleJCrb? What a n00b! I don't even like that guy, why do we have to work with hiiiiiiiiim? *throws a temper tantrum* Actually, I'm predicting a ton of OMFG GUITAAAAAAARRRRRZZZ to be included in the project soon.

You might be surprised.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 Actually, I'm predicting a ton of OMFG GUITAAAAAAARRRRRZZZ to be included in the project soon. As much of a fan of OMFG GUITAAAAAARRRRZZZZZ that I am, I hope to hell not. It would kinda go against the idea of ethical music if every track had a screeching guitar solo.
Eino Keskitalo Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 It would kinda go against the idea of ethical music if every track had a screeching guitar solo. I agree - guitar shreddery is amoral, wrong, and just plain bad behaviour. --Eino
KyleJCrb Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 If guitar wankery is wrong, then I don't wanna be right!
Murmeli Walan Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 I agree - guitar shreddery is amoral, wrong, and just plain bad behaviour.--Eino I meant "Ethnic", not "ethical". If you'll excuse me, I've gotta go find some burn cream.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 3/17/09: A number of track updates to report on today. Protricity has been confirmed to take Team India. Sixto Sounds will cover both Team Shadow and Versus Play (chrono26 is still taking those tracks as well. We'll have two versions of both those songs on the final album.) Rexy is taking another look at her Iceland track (she originally finished it in 2006) and is going to change/update the arrangement. Finally, Fishy is offering his services for "guitar wankery" if artists are interested. More developments to come soon.
Eino Keskitalo Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 So the proverbial ball is rolling. Great news! --Eino
Sir_NutS Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Greetings I know I am not well known around here but I would like to give this project my contribution, I can try to remix the japan theme, if that is ok with the organizers. I don't have an ocremix yet but I have done work for PRC. I will start to try some ideas this weekend so I can have a WIP. Sorry about the bad english
KyleJCrb Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Hey Ralf, sounds good! I've heard some of your work for PRC before and it's pretty good stuff. If you would please go ahead and sign up for the forums at http://www.kngi.org/forum/ and I'll give you access to the ATW WIP section.

You know, Andy Jayne was only an artist from PRC when he joined the project. I've got no problem at all with showcasing new remixers in the project. Put a wip together, and let's see what you can do.
Pavos Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Hmmm... I might be mixing a track from this aswell. If I can find something nice
Murmeli Walan Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 3/21/09: Another track update: OA is covering Team England. There are a few remixers out there with "potential interest", so we'll see if anything develops.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 Don't forget Showroom Dummy on Team Japan. Of course, of course. My mistake.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 3/25/09: Showroom Dummy is trying his hand at Team Japan, and pu_freak is tackling the Title Screen. Three tracks still unclaimed!
KyleJCrb Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Alright, since things are moving forward and progression in happening nicely with this project, Walan and I have decided to set up a WIP due date. This date will be: April 18th, 2009 If you have not given a WIP to myself or Walan already, or if it has been an extended amount of time since your last one, I will be contacting you. If you are looking feedback on your work, you can register at http://kngi.org/forum/, and I will grant you access to the private ATW sections where other musicians and the directors from the project can offer critique and advice.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 3/25/09 (OMG AGAIN?): The band 8 Bit Instrumental is taking the Ending/Credits theme! This track has never been claimed before! Just two left!
Pavos Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Not sure if I'm going to make that deadline... I'm going on a study tour next week and won't be back untill the 22nd (I'll finally visit the US). So unless I can whop up something this weekend, I won't be making any WIPs untill the end of April.
