XPRTNovice Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Just thought I'd brag that I'm currently walking around the video game museum in the smithsonian. Definitely recommended. Quote
The Damned Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Pics, please. Unless they won't let you take any... in which case, just be sneaky about it, and then post them. Quote
Melbu Frahma Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 You should take some pictures and share. If they allow photos, anyway - can't remember if they do. Quote
AngelCityOutlaw Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I had no idea that video game museums even existed. Take pictures. Quote
kitty Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 If you're talking about the Art of Video Games exhibit, it's meh at best. Quote
Brandon Strader Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 You know phones have cameras now too, take some pictures. I really just wanted to make another post about taking pictures. I just wanted to be popular. I am so sorry. Quote
Arrow Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 If you need pics, have the FB album I created after visiting the exhibit on opening day back in mid-March. For anyone visiting the DC area, it's only here until the end of September. Quote
Nonamer Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I've been there once, and will definitely go again if anyone from here wants to go. They also have gaming merch in the store. I am this close to buying a Minecraft shirt! Quote
XPRTNovice Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 Hey, do you guys want me to post pics? And yes, it was the Video Game Art museum. The exhibit was actually kind of meh (only 3 rooms, not much I hadn't already seen or known about) but I did catch a presentation by the guest curator Chris - the guy who put the whole thing together - which was pretty cool. kitty Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Oh if they had more than just the exhibit it probably would be really nice to go. But the actual exhibit had very little to do with "art" which was disappointing. Quote
Modus Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Oh if they had more than just the exhibit it probably would be really nice to go. But the actual exhibit had very little to do with "art" which was disappointing. Like a 2D canvas of SNES parts laid out into the shape of an 8bit figure. Been wanting to do that.. ever since I thought of it just now. Quote
