Bundeslang
The People's Remix Competition 244 PRCv10-10 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! This is already the tenth episode of PRC. Last time V___ claimed victory by default, and so he got the right to select the source. Be sure to read the quote by him. There is an awesome project underway for the Super Mario RPG, run by the up-n-coming artist Theory of N. http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43361 This project is bound to be of the highest quality, so why not attempt to become a part of it by supplying your VERY OWN REMIX! One of the best tracks on the project is as of yet unclaimed, and it could be YOURS (providing the submission is good enough). Yes, YOURS, and your track could be showcased with such great names as: DJ Pretzel Theory Of N Skrypnyk zyko AND MORE!! So what are you waiting for!! Why not show your support for this fantastic project while ensuring your immortality, by taking up the challenge and making a remix for arguably the best Mario game in existence. The track is 'Hard Working Moles are Good Moles', one of the tracks from Mole Mountain. The track captures the very essence of the classic Mario games with its simplicity and loopability, while still remaining accessable and engaging with its upbeat tune and rhythm. Again, the track is still open for submissions! Check the project page!! http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43361 I'm sure listening to the song has your remixing persona salivating in delight, so I wont hold you from your DAWs any longer. Cant wait to hear the results! Source: Super Mario RPG (SNES) - Hard Working Moles are Good Moles MIDI 1 MIDI 2 Youtube Wiki ThaSauce link: Click here to submit. GOOD LUCK! PRC instructions Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 20 MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed (only as Bonus Mixes). If anyone has problems with uploading songs to ThaSauce let me know (in this thread) and post a download link to your song in this thread (so I can upload it to ThaSauce). Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by MONDAY May 13th 2013 at 10:59 am ThaSauce time: check my signature (below) or the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix. You can post it in the thread if that doesn't work. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. The winner of this round may select the source for PRC245 and might be involved in the Super Mario RPG OverClocked Remix Album. You can find the full rules list at this page as well. MindWanderer
Hm, nice lure to shoot for, and albums seem to have slightly lower standards than full OCR submissions. I have some time this weekend, I'll see what I can do with this.
Eino Keskitalo
Always nice to see a special round! --Eino
V___
My faith in humanity will be directly proportional to the number of entries this PRC creates. Please, change the world, help one bitter misanthrope this week...! *puppydog eyes*
MindWanderer
I have an idea, althought it took me a long time to wrap my brain around discarding the Disney-esque feel of this one. I'm kind of feeling my way through it, though, so we'll see how it goes.
Chernabogue
The source screams at me to remix it but exams are coming...
FreakyT
Haha, now I finally know what the backing track is for this YouTube classic: Now I definitely have to enter!
MindWanderer
Submitted. There's certainly a lot more improvement I could make in the time available, but I have no emotional attachment to this source and I need to save my energy for the BBBBCC and WCRG. Esperado
took more cramming than id like and i have no idea what the genre is, but id say its pretty enjoyable! this source has such a goofy vibe that i felt like trying to really catch onto with this remix. Bundeslang
It's results time. Total number of mixes - 2 Total number of votes - 3 Maximum Score - 12. MindWanderer received 10 points, but still gets the last place wooden spoon. The winner of PRC244 is Esperado with 11 points. Congratulations Esperado. Because only two songs appeared, the number of voters isn't big as well. The double vote of V___ declared Esperado as the winner. The scores on ThaSauce are now correct. Esperado, you may select the source for the next round. Send your source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). You may select any source from any game, as long as it doesn't have an Overclocked Remix and it hasn't been on PRC before. Check it at the list: http://sites.google.com/site/bambombim/prc http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc (also downloadable via the link above). Send your source as fast as you can, but before this Friday, 17th of May 2013. You can find the votes with comments here: http://compo.thasauce.net/votes/index/PRC244

V___
whoa whoa whoa wait up, I dont represent anyone on the album, I was just doing some advertising for an awesome project!! You'll have to audition / try out, etc like anyone else (tho hurry w that, cos I might be tempted to start a creepy clown remix of the mole theme myself) (probably not tho) (it was a good idea on your track, but can you get that up to album quality?) wait a sec, I didnt say congrats to Esperado for winning!! Congrats!! Update: I have opened Reason
Bundeslang
Esperado, I hope you can send the source for the next round within the next two hours, otherwise I have to start the next round myself because I'm not around in the upcoming days after that. EDIT: Next round has started. You can still send a source to me, it will be used for later PRC's. Edited May 18, 2013 by Bundeslang
