cawnil
i made a tiny little nintendo vsti.http://hosting.thasauce.net/suzumebachi/nintiny_vsti_v003b.rar it's by no means perfect, but maybe it can get the job done. i've been meaning to work on it some more but i just haven't had the time. Nicely done, man. Doesn't seem to need much work, maybe just adding a couple more of the definitive waveforms, which shouldn't be hard. Oni-91
Okay, I have the soundfonts Airfont 340 and Chorium, but these don't seem to have realistic shamisen or koto fonts. Because I'm on a budget of £0, does anyone know a free, realistic-ish soundfont that isn't 30Mb (no, really. I found one which was 30Mb, but it was crap). Xenonstryfe
Does anyone have the kind of synth used in Justin Timberlake's Summer Love? That kind of sound?
cawnil
Hey I'm looking for electronica drum wavs. I've already got a bunch of retro electronica kits (rolands obviously, among many others), but am looking for a more contemporary sound. Anything is welcome, really, except maybe harsh industrial sounds. In case you're wondering, it would be especially up my alley if I could get sounds that resemble those used by Boards of Canada, DJ Krush, Autechre, Overcoat, and I guess just other interesting minimal/ambient/IDM/trip hop artists out there. ivorySKY
I'd like to get a koto (Japanese traditional instrument) Reason refill, just like the one played in Final Fantasy X-2 when you fight Le Blanc (the name of the music is 'I'll Give You Something Hot' or sumthin' similar). Does anyone have/know where to find it?

A-RoN
If anyone's looking for great underground east coast hip-hop samples (stuff none dirty south cats will be willing to kill to have), THIS is the ultimate Canadian source of pure hip-hop melodic samples, stabs, and hits: http://www.motionsamples.com/catalog.php Loops are even chop and screwable, and the 70s hip-hop loops are legal for sampling if you want something more traditional. I give the hip hop section in this site 10/10. Buy now! Don't regret!

cawnil
suzumebachi, i actually just took my OLD pc tower to the local computer shop to extract the data, as it's no longer connected to the internet nor has a cd burner. so i got some cds back with a lot of electronica drum wav samples, so i'm sittin pretty right now. but since you mentioned it, i think i'll host all my samples somwhere. there's probably only about 200 megs of drum samples in wav form, but that's still pretty good. almost all are samples i've gotten online over the years, but may be from pages that are no longer active so i guess you can download them and skim to see what you've already got. ps. what does 'bachi' mean? i know suzume is sparrow or something. SSB
I need basic electronica pads and leads. You know, the basic stuff. I have PLENTY of acoustic sounds, but if you ask me to throw together something sounding quite electronic, you get a half-assed attempt of mtrying to make acoustic sound like electronica. And I can't seem to find good stuff.. just think of a generic techno song/ I need those blaring leads, those weeping, clear pads.. now I'm no master of electronica, so I'd have to say I go most for trance music. But that doesn't mean much. I just need a good starting place for these types of things. Using the poizone and toxic plugins that came with FL Studio only goes so far. Yoozer
I need basic electronica pads and leads.[...] Using the poizone and toxic plugins that came with FL Studio only goes so far. They go really far, you just have to know how to make those sounds. http://theheartcore.com/music/armin_communication_dull.mp3 http://theheartcore.com/music/armin_communication_shiney.mp3 This was done with Xhip (freeware) and the built-in reverb. That's part of what you're looking for? Oni-91
I'm trying to find: 1) A koto/shamisen soundfont/VSTi that sounds as realistic as possible. 2) A VSTi that can produce some good acid effects. 3) Some decent drum 'n' bass samples/WAVs. If anyone's got any of those, I'd be very happy. Thanks.

Lanodantheon
I'm looking for a ticking clock sound. I'm working on a Chrono Trigger mix and I need that tick-tock pendulum.
Downpour_Guy
Anyone know where to find some great sub-booms? You know, the ones in Drum and Bass tracks. I need some to put at the start of new musical phrases, but none of my synths are capable of doing it. Does anyone know where to find some samples I can use, or a synth that's capable of making some great ones. I'm using Cubase if that helps. Yoozer
1: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ 2: Generate > Tone (frequency 100 hz, duration 10 ms) 3: load in http://vemberaudio.se/shortcircuit.php 4: use pitch envelope to create the "boom" sound. Alternatively: find a TR808 bassdrum here and load it up in LM7 or whatever Cubase has included standard as a drum sampler. This is how it was done usually in drum and bass; put that bassdrum in a sampler, pitch it down, and presto. Alternatively: http://www.e-phonic.com/plugins/drumatic3.php if you can't find 808 samples.
Downpour_Guy
Thanks. I've never made drum and bass before so didn't know where to start with the booms.
