Jaybell
Before I registered on these forums, when I would read threads, then it would show posts chronologically from top to bottom, and from the first page to the last. Ever since I registered, it's been reversed, and now the earliest post is at the bottom of the last page, with the latest post being at the top of the first page. Is there any way to change it back to the way it was before? Like, an option I'm overlooking? I prefer it the old way.
phill
start off by going to your user cp, on the left click 'edit options' and scroll down to 'Thread Display Options' then select the Thread Display Mode you want.
pokemoneinstein
It should be easy to edit in your profile. Profile > User CP > Settings & Options (under "Edit Options"). Scroll way down, and under "Thread Display mode," choose "Linear (Oldest First)"
Magnetic Ether
It's always been like that for me as well, but I never cared enough to change it and now I like it that way. Just wondering, is it the default view or did aphetica and I accidentally change it somehow?
EC2151
it's the default view for this forum (and I suspect all boards that use vbulletin as well) and personally seems to me ass-backwards, much like the default setting of 10 posts per page. Magnetic Ether
So how come when you're logged out the view reverts to regular forum view?
pokemoneinstein
That's certainly strange. I'm pretty sure it's the default, but I could be wrong. But I think the linear layout is the standard for vBulletin, this place is the only forum on which I've seen it any different.
Never rest
Hi all. Whenever I'm logged in the posts appear backwards when I'm viewing a thread, so last post is first and first post is at bottom of page. But if I log out everything returns to normal. Can someone help me fix this? Edit: nvm just found another post with this problem and fixed it.
Rozovian
Staff folks, do we need an FAQ for this and the other oft-appearing forum-related questions?
Liontamer
I've seen it come up twice now. We'll see if it comes up again. That may be twice in a few weeks, but that's also twice in 7 years, AFAIK.
Anorax
Frankly, I don't mind the ass-backwards way it's set up. I can read the most recent posts without wading through posts and pages I've already visited and read. I suppose it's set the other way upon logout because vBulletin assumes that because you are logged out, you are new, and want to read the first post as the first page. That, and I guess it's easier to distribute non-member advertisements. I Dunno. I'm rather used to this recent first view, so i will have to be conditioned if other forums do not use this method by default.
Mirby
News: Other forums do not use that method by default. At least, not the ones I've visited.
