SwordBreaker
http://music.ign.com/articles/818/818220p1.html Excellent. Just what I need since I haven't attended VGL and it looks like I won't anytime soon. I'm going to get this. October 19.
Broken
I definitely need to snatch this up when it hits. I haven't gotten to see the show yet, either.
Penfold
Cool. Kinda wish they had this cd available when I went to VGL, instead of the crappy cd unrelated to the show they sold.
DarkeSword
To be honest, after seeing VGLive, I wouldn't buy the CD. The arrangements for the most part aren't anything you're not going to find anywhere else. The primary draw of the show is the fact that you're seeing it, well, live. Other than that, the track selection is fairly standard/straightforward. Mario, Zelda, Halo, WoW; all relatively "mainstream" titles as far as game music goes. Also, the Mario and Zelda arrangements are the same ones we've been hearing over and over again since Orchestral Game Concert. A lot of the other music is straight stuff from the games with very little arrangement at all, considering they're from more modern games. A CD like this is for a person who still finds game music played by orchestras to be a novelty; the audience is there, but for people who listen to OC ReMixes, OSTs and arrange albums, I don't think that you're going to find this CD to be particularly impressive. You, sir, make a good point.
Lemonectric
Now, if they made OCR-style arrangements of more obscure songs from popular games, I might be interested.
Bahamut
Shariq is right - seeing it live is the draw.

Tenucha
The anthology CD was compiled by videogame composers and Video Games Live co-creators Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall and features the Slovak National Orchestra as well as the Crouch End Chorus and the Martin "The Video Game Pianist" Leung. The album was mixed and recorded at the world famous Abbey Road recording studios in London. HAHAHA!! Hooray for the Martin!! XD
