The piano playing @ 2:08 is really quiet actually the piano in general is rather quiet, didn't notice it the first time around @ 1:05 The woodwind (or string?) @ 0:44 sounds dry and exposed compared to everything else as well. and that's about it. Nothing really packs a solid punch, but this is a nice little ditty.

So speaking of FF7, I bought the Crisis Core soundtrack 46 days ago.......... it just arrived today. Finally I get to enjoy it.

With the tempo comment, what I mean is that sudden tempo switches can throw people off guard. It takes time to ease into a new tempo, and I personally don't do many tempo changes because I think it's hard to make it work without raising eyebrows. With timings, YMMV; with nonphysical instruments I don't mind as much, but with realistic instruments, stiff timing highlights how sampled they are, and even slightly random timing in either direction (a few ms) helps. Besides what I mentioned, I don't have anything else to mention; maybe it doesn't seem like much, but I think it's enough to last you if you keep referring back to this list and seeing if any of these still are issues.

Thanks all, I ended up getting the Scarlett 2i2. I guess I really didn't understand what I was looking for until you pointed out the difference. I was planning to use Audacity, since it's free and I've got some experience with it. Again, thanks for the help!

i take personal offense to this. we all know i'm any one of about a dozen different people at any given moment and sometimes, even all at once. the panel is sufficiently staffed, mr. strader, thank you. THANK. YOU.

It was a joke on my part, not a complaint; I forgot the smiley and the </joke> tag. Nothing wrong with drumming up a little interest in "what might be". Lots of business promises never get fulfilled despite best intentions (some of them are never even intended to be fulfilled - personal experience in the software industry) and that's just the way it could go. We can still hope for clear skies and smooth sailing while planning for rougher weather.

We're more likely to see it if you include "RESUB" or "resubmission" in the subject line or body of the email. The only change in the judging process is that resubmissions skip the waiting line and get placed on the panel as soon as we notice them, since they already had to go through the waiting time in the past. To me, that's like saying "if a source tune prominently uses a flute, does using a flute in an arrangement with an unrelated melody count as source usage". To me, that definitely doesn't count. In your case, it's not about just using vocals with similar effects, it's about how much of the arrangement directly arranges the writing of the source. I wouldn't give you credit for mimicking the style of a track. I would for arranging the theme.
