Staff wanted for Card Games Album
TheChargingRhino reacted to DarkeSword for a topic
There are a lot of video games that are essentially digital versions of card games: Hearthstone, the Pokémon TCG game for gameboy, Duelyst, the various Yu Gi Oh games, etc. These games have some pretty solid soundtracks. I'd like to see a small single-disc album focusing on music from games like these. Anyone up for the task of directing? I'll take on an advisory/exec producer role and help out, but this'll be your show with regards to track selection and stylistic choices.1 point -
Music artist for BSZelda AST MSU1 needed (Audiacity)
TheChargingRhino reacted to Conn for a topic
Hi, I am working on a huge project, which is to recreate the original japanese BS-X broadcast of BSZelda: Ancient Stone Tablets into dubbed English. We already succeeded with BSZelda1: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/07/japan-exclusive_satellaview_zelda_game_gets_translated_and_dubbed_into_english Just as you see in the video: same needs to be done in AST. Original Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCX8vfUDSWU We have: - Voice actings (thanks to all lending their voices: Erock, Smash, Kira, Daniel, Onay...) - music backbone (thanks to Trovsky) - the hack (thanks to... myself ) So basically left is the merging (voices with bgm) project, it needs to be done this way: - Each actor has his own track, the volume of each track must be equalized as the actors handed in records with different global volume (decibel) - some of the records need to be filtered (they have excellent quality, only some have a click of record end as far I hear) - the background music needs to be dropped when somebody is talking. This is done by making a copy of the bgm, lower the volume and cut it in at the time when somebody is talking The project is kind of huge (we have 4 hours in total of music). Is here anybody motivated and skilled to help us out? ...Please! If you are interested, you can reply here or contact me directly at con.s@gmx.de Thanks!1 point -
Hey, I'm DS (David or Dave), just a casual gamer who knows about way much more games than he actually plays I'm a 17-year-old self-taught composer and producer and I like makin' piano covers, epic orchestral mixes, and wub-tastic dubstep remixes. One thing you'll probably find out about me sooner or later is that I'm a huge Star Fox junkie and I've done more remixes and covers of those OSTs than I can bother to think about in one sitting XD I hope to get to know this place a little better, I'll see y'all around.1 point

I made a cover song of the Hearthstone theme a long time ago. We used it for a podcast we did about the game a while ago. I'll link it over here in case its relevant for the project.1 point -
It went through. So it's all good.1 point

MnP 60: Escape From the Planet of Robot Monsters

You didn't vote for Trism so there's no problem. Just posted my vote as well. EDIT: I just listened to your MnP59 song and I must say that I really liked how you changed the instruments. If only I didn't miss so many rounds I would have voted in that round as well.1 point -
Secret of Mana Project This is a continiuation of the SoM project thread by Bahamut. Since Bahamut has much less time on his hands to co-direct this project due to an awesome job promotion (congrats man!), I'm taking the lead on this project. Bahamut will be there to evaluate songs, but his role will be a lot smaller. That said: Welcome to the new Secret of Mana project thread! First of all, the basics: Staff: Directors: pu_freak, Bahamut Assistant director: Not found yet Mastering: Not found yet Site builder: Not found yet Art: keiiii, Odai Project Forums: http://SoMOCR.proboards.com/ Tracklist: Finished WAV (6): 08 - Dancing Animals (Guifrog) 11 - It Happened Once (Guifrog) 24 - The Legend (Devastus) 32 - Ceremony (Radiowar) 37 - The Oracle (The Legendary Zoltan) 42 - Now Flightless Wings (Mikeaudio) 43 - The Second Truth From the Left (Sir Jordanius) Substantial WIP (1): 09 - Distant Thunder (halc) WIP (2): 02 - A Curious Tale (Hylian Lemon) 20 - Calm before the Storm (PabloComa) Claim (21): 01 - Fear of the Heavens (Ergosonic) 03 - Phantom and a Rose (zyko) 04 - Together Always (Hakstock) 06 - Into the Thick of It (Ergosonic) 07 - The Color of the Summer Sky (Rexy) 10 - The Little Sprite (Audio Fidelity, bustatunez, DrumUltimA, Jeff Ball, Abi Coffer) 15 - What the Forest Taught Me (Harmony & djpretzel) 17 - Spirit of the Night (RebeccaETripp) 18 - Did You See the Ocean (Ergosonic) 19 - Danger (Sagnewshreds & jnWake) 22 - Flight of the Unknown (Sagnewshreds) 23 - Eternal Recurrence (pu_freak) 25 - A Bell is Tolling (Chernabogue) 26 - A Curious Happening (Jorito) 28 - The Dark Star (Darangen) 29 - Prophecy (Sbeast) 31 - Whisper and Mantra (RebeccaETripp) 34 - Leave Time For Love (GaMetal) 35 - Still of the Night (Ergosonic) 41 - Meridian Dance (Fishy) 44 - I Closed My Eyes (dannthr) Up for grabs (13): 05 - Fond Memories 12 - In the Dead of Night 13 - Mystic Invasion 14 - Secret of the Arid Sands 16 - A Wish 21 - The Wind Never Ceases 27 - Monarch on the Shore 30 - Steel and Snare 33 - Morning is Here 38 - A Conclusion 39 - I Won't Forget (als featured in SD3) 40 - One of Them is Hope Deadlines: November 1st January 1st - ONLY WIPS ACCEPTED (no more claims) March 1st May 1st - ONLY SUBSTANTIAL WIPS ACCEPTED July 1st September 1st - FINAL CUT-OFF DATE The deadlines are SET IN STONE. The project will not wait for a song to be finished; in other words: most likely, not every song on the soundtrack will be featured on the album. Too many albums have been delayed for far too long because of late addition mixes or slow mixers, which is damaging for the mixes already finished. You can miss one deadline, but otherwise, your song is up for grabs. This obviously doesn't count for the final deadline: if I don't have a WAV by then, your song won't be included on the album. FAQ: Can I join? Of course, if you're a posted mixer and want to mix a song that's up for grabs you'll get a claim. If you're not a posted mixer, you'll have to show me a good WIP. Can I mix a song that's already been mixed on the project? I'd prefer if everybody chose a song that isn't featured yet. However, if you can show me a really good WIP from which I think is in a completely new direction than the song we already have, you can. Is there a genre requirement? No, you can do whatever you think fits the source. I do, however, prefer the mixes to be more on the conservative side than on the really liberal side. What's the quality you're going for? OCR-level quality; I will be really strict (ask the mixers from BadAss 3 :P) and will ask for many updates if we (the staff) feel like the track isn't good enough yet. That's it for now!1 point

The Marvel Symphonic Universe
Phonetic Hero reacted to Sam Dillard for a topic
Many film and game scores just sound the same these days, especially in action genres. The Zimmer Remote Control style has become so trendy that it has permeated basically everything, and the thought process seems to be that simply adding pounding percussion and power anthem styled themes automatically makes something good. Many of the newer composers are products of this mentality. And it's fine in context and works well in certain titles, but there should not be a "default sound" for any spectrum of media. Basically, it's seems like many modern soundtracks are just back-to-back cues for action movie trailers. It's become the new four-chord pop music phenomenon. Sometimes it feels like creativity across the board is becoming bottlenecked, with re-hashed writing and endless reboots, visual effects and cinematography is almost indistinguishable among whatever summer tentpole films are playing, and you can basically inter-change all of their soundtracks and not really tell much of a difference. Art in general is becoming homogenized for the sake of studios being able to mass-produce titles and franchises on auto pilot. It's almost shocking when something truly unique is released these days... now I am laughing at the irony of the Blair Witch reboot trailer playing as I write this.1 point -

Hey guys, I was working on my track when I had a sweet idea! Part of the Clash of Ninja Menu theme has people shouting "Hyeh", "Hyoh" of course "Hiyaa!" so wouldn't it be awesome if everyone got to join in? For now I'll keep it to people within the album but if you're interested please send me a message! I think this would a cool thing to do together not only as an album group but maybe even a community xD1 point
