  1. This is a lovely source because it is so simple structurally that it really leaves a lot open for interpretation. I mean I've got this really low key vibey sort of thing. Hoboka came up with this, dare I say, 70s-esque Sci-Fi take on it (really just missing that HF flutter honestly lol) that suits the material equally as well. Then you've got Starphoenix with something I'd hear in a low budget horror Sci-Fi flick (I mean that in the best way possible btw, I love cheesy Sci-Fi horror movies)! Absolutely, incredible the differences in approaches.

  3. Tangledeep is now on Kickstarter! We're raising money for extra animation polish like walking & attacking animations, plus special guest composers like Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3) who is already onboard!!! If you want to get access to pre-release builds after April, get the digital soundtrack, Steam key, or immortalize yourself in the game, check out the campaign! WHAT'S TANGLEDEEP It's a 16-bit, FF/Square-inspired dungeon crawler. A true roguelike that takes inspiration from classic western games and JRPGs alike. Tactical turn-based combat, procedural generation, deep customization, lots and lots of loot, and monsters to battle. I've been working on this for over a year now and I'm about 40% done - your feedback is appreciated! The game is playable on Mac and PC right now, but eventually will be on Linux and possibly consoles/mobile too. I'm doing all the code & design for the game (along with music, of course) while @OA is doing beautiful UI, environments and tiles, and a couple other artists doing characters, battle FX, and items. We're hoping to release the game by the end of the year! As of now, though the game is definitely shaping up, it's still pre-alpha with some placeholder art and lots of content yet to be made (and balancing to be done). Tangledeep Discord: https://discord.gg/4q5kjUm Bug Tracker: http://git.impactsoundworks.com:617/isworks-andrew/tangledeep/issues Twitter Dev: http://twitter.com/tangledeepgame Full Dev / Change Log: https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=57600.0 WIN: http://tangledeep.com/builds/Tangledeep-LatestWinBuild.rar OSX: http://tangledeep.com/builds/Tangledeep-LatestOSXBuild.zip Today we have a wide spread of new art, polish, bug fixes, balance tweaks, and content. The biggest game experience changes are that you now start in the town, and you now have a permanent 'town portal' item that can be used anytime to return to town. You can then take a portal back to where you were. We're also experimenting with walking sprites - starting with the Hunter - which look pretty amazing, in my opinion! The current cast of characters, monsters and NPCs. Some new art + palette improvements here! A snapshot of the world as it looks now. Improved grass, trees, better lighting, better fog of war. Walking animation!?

  4. Consider it yours. I have also put you down as a violin performer. Welcome aboard, Trev! As a fan of his music, I'm happy to announce that @bLiNd has submitted a track for the Venom Orbital/Base boss, Phantron! Very glad to have him aboard too. Slimy has expanded his first claim to include the Venom Base from Star Fox SNES and he has also submitted a track for all the main Star Fox themes. Sounds great so far! Also, just a quick note to anyone looking to claim: I have attached a copy of our project overview to the top of the thread, so folks can see where we are in the project and what tracks are already claimed. I have also attached the source tracks from each game to this spreadsheet (well, most of them as of when this post went up) so you can listen to everything and see if there is anything you're interested in claiming too. I hope to see more claims soon!

  5. This is fantastic. I've always loved this song so much, and what you do at 1:14 is just. Guhhh. That whole part. Exactly as beautiful and badass and serious and--meditating on that repetition!--as it should be! So so good.

  6. @TheChargingRhino -- I don't know about 'Staff Roll,' but I'd be curious to see what we could come up with your WIP of 'Corneria Has Fallen...But There is Still Hope (Star Fox 2 "Records 1"/SF64 "Select" Mix.' I though maybe doing something similar to Hyakutaro Tukumo's 'The Longest Voyage' (http://66.90.91.26/ost/technosoft-game-music-collection-vol.-7-reincarnation/slfgrtmczf/17-the-longest-voyage.mp3) could be great as it would be a nice way to showcase your piano skills and allow me to explore guitar composition further. Again, I will need a MIDI of your track to start working on it. What do you think?
