  1. Hello, all. I would like to throw my name in the hat for helping to direct this thing. As I told @pu_freak and @Bahamut in a message, if you look at my profile, you won't find very much, I know. HOWEVER, I am very familiar in coordinating many moving parts at the same time being a full time middle school music teacher. I have been in the OCR community for a while, but got WAY back into it three years ago when my band Lonboxofchocolate formed in its current iteration - I linked our soundcloud page for reference if you want to hear how we sound. We have, since then, published our own Undertale album on Overclocked Records (its almost posted), had multiple submissions accepted and posted by OCR, and have kept a regular arranging and recording schedule in addition to all of us having our varying adult responsibilities. I love helping and seeing things through, so if I can help this thing get traction again, I would very much enjoy getting to know everyone's work so far and seeing where it needs to go from there! Peace and love - Hank "The Spank Tank" Jankerson -

  2. I'm looking to emulate the pizzicato sound that comes in at 1:58 of the song below. Is this a violin technique, or is there a word for this other than just pizzicato? I'd like a clearer version of this particular plucking as I've heard it in a few old scary movies and even a bit of it in television shows.

  3. Honestly, I would suggest enjoying the game at your own pace for the first run. I was in your shoes for X&Y (that was my first Pokemon game outside of Red), and I feel that was the best way to go. Just let the game and its mechanics develop at the pace it presents itself and learn the basics as you go. Once you beat it once, that's when you should go out and ask questions, figure out the complex mechanics, try to go full Eugenicist on the pokemon, etc.. It'll also give you a solid idea of what questions you'll be interested in asking, in the first place. It's really not the kind of game where you can permanently lose opportunities to make your pokemon stronger, due to the breeding system, save for the availability of mythic legendaries that Nintendo periodically offers. I think The Damned's thread here will help you not miss any of those, though, so just keep an eye here for any news on that front.

  4. Hey prophetik, I'm brand-new to OCRemix (this is my first post!), but I've been a long-time fan & supporter. I'm a game & film composer in Atlanta, GA and have been performing/recording piano for 19 years & violin for 15 years (and teach both too!). I've been actively creating video game piano covers on YouTube for the last several years and am now in a healthy rhythm of recording 1+ video per week. I'm seeking to collaborate more (especially with this community) and this project strikes my attention. Chrono Cross is one of the seminole soundtracks that guided me into becoming a professional musician. I would love to record a solo piano track for the album. I have no particular preference, but I DID already record Arni Village on piano about a year ago and it seems no one has bounced on that yet (which I find crazy since it's one of my favorites!). I'd be happy to polish up this arrangement for a full-sized keyboard with better production for the album. I'm open to recording another tune as well. Let me know what you think!

  5. @Starphoenix said he was going to have a look at it this weekend, but I haven't heard anything yet.

  6. @TheChargingRhino I am in fact in a band. We drastically rearrange all of our tracks to include as much originality as we can get away with while staying within throwing distance of the source material. My rework of Meteo as posted above is an example of such. @LongBoxofChocolate is the founder of our trio, and we are about to come out with our first album on the Overclocked Records label. Does that clear up what I was trying to say earlier? @The Nikanoru is right in that most of the time (if its intended) arrangements will sound better if they are recorded by acoustic instruments, but if you are working with some ass-whooping sample libraries in a good DAW then you are probably set. In other words, I am not going to write everything in general midi and ship it that way. I am going to import the thing into Pro Tools then set the pads and record everything possible on top of that. That is only Lonboxofchocolate's process, though. It does not work for everyone.

  7. .....Why has no one reviewed yet? Is it because it was on the Spring Break album? Is that...Bolero of Fire at the beginning there? Overall, this is gold.

  8. I still listen to it & dig it immensely... some production issues, sure, but THAT ENERGY Super-catchy lyrics/chorus; I think it stands up well.

  9. I'd say by this point it's well over 90%.
