  1. Hey all! I wanted to share my latest project with you. I've been working on re-imagining the soundtrack to Chrono Cross as if it were a film score - classic symphony orchestra and all. What I'm sharing is the 2nd track on the album (I'm currently writing the 4th) of around 12 or so. I don't mind feedback, but mostly I wanted to share this with other fans of the series and get the album a little exposure before I try to kickstart a release later this year. I hope you enjoy it! I also can post the 1st track and parts of 3 and 4 if anyone is interested! 02 Far From Home - Cross Symphonic P.S. sorry if I posted this in the wrong section...

  2. Thanks for the extension! I was hoping to finish up my entry yesterday, but Life happens. Mine will be a bit more on the... darker side... and might stray a bit from the original feel, but I bet you'll enjoy it.

    Starter Headphones...

Having said that, I also have a pair of Sony MDR 7506. They are very different from the DT880s: The Sony is closed backed, whereas the DT880 is semi open. This makes the Sony great for recording (because no sound leaks out), but when mixing the DT880 gives a much better representation of the stereo field and it makes appropriate panning and how it translates to speakers a lot easier. Both have a more pronounced top end, but the DT880 is better at the low end. That makes mixing your bass easier on the DT880 and it also makes the Sony sound more toppy. There is still bass enough to work with, but you have to work harder at it. In all fairness you could probably mix on both of them, once you've spent enough time with them and know their characteristics. But the DT880 make it a lot easier and are -to my ears- overall more pleasant to listen to. For any headphones, pick something that you like the sound of, that fits your budget and spend the time to get very familiar with how they sound, I'd say.

  5. Submitted my bonus entry! I've noticed everyone comments that I need to go deeper with my ReMixes. I think I failed to create something unique this submission. Again. I really don't know how to make a good ReMix and I want to learn.

  6. @TurboChaser Wow, it's very flattering that you made an account just for this song! Thank you for your praise! @mothershipl Awesome! This is a feedback gold mine! Alright, I will try everything you suggested, although I can't make any promises that all of it will be fixed exactly like you suggest, only that I'll try everything and see what fits. You guessed somewhat right about the progression of the song. Everything up to the 2:59 mark was planned. Everything after was pretty much spaghetti thrown against the wall...

  7. The idea to mix both songs is nice and works pretty well. I think the arrangement could need a bit more variation, after 2 minutes it becomes a bit a bit too repetitive (which I wouldn't mind as background music in a game though). Otherwise I like the sounds you used in this.
