  1. I first heard about Damage a while back and I was thinking maybe I would pick it up eventually to add the occasional epic rumbly hit to my tracks. I had no idea it was so diverse. I'll have to look into it more.

  2. Still Damage Drums. There is a wide variety of ways you can get awesome sounds from that massive package. From full loops, partial loops and fully adaptable kits - I wish my other sound libraries were as diverse as Damage. One of these days, right? Anyways, thx for comments guys. I shall be posting Dex's source pick momentarily.

  3. Congrats to Dex for coming in first place, and thanks to everyone for their entries and comments! I've gotta echo Dex's comments on your bonus entry, HoboKa - I loved those drums! --- As for mine: I kind of figured that I was really stretching rule #2 for MnP (slowing it down from 198 to 120 BPM), but I thought why not give it a go anyway. Still, I'm glad you all enjoyed it, and it was even compared to Metroid Prime's soundtrack. Heck, that alone made me ecstatic! So, thanks for the comments, Dextastic and HoboKa! Dex, you mentioned that you liked that echoing lead - if you have the Synth1 VST, check out Alfmeister's Magic Cracker soundbank (it's an 80s synth soundbank) - it's called Dreamer's Delight MW. The bass was from the Gecko Soundbank, and it was called Breakin' Bass. --- Once again, I enjoyed all of the entries this round, and I'm looking forward to the next.

  4. Hi, I'm Quinn. :) 'Be Attitude' is from Radiant Silvergun. Hard to do. 'Ceramic Hallways' is from Phantasy Star 3. Trash. 'Charm Vibes' is from Ristar. A cute Latin style remix. 'Dark Engine' is from Scorcher. Dont ask me what I was thinking, it's awful. 'Moonlight Alone' is from Lunar 2 : Eternal Blue. One of my favorite RPG's ever. 'Submerged Forest' is from I have no clue. I think it was option music from a Sega game, but that doesn't help..... been a long time. 'Tree to Woodwind' is from Panzer Dragoon Zwei. I remember working very hard on this at the time. Might not sound great, but damn, what a game.... Liontamer, you're right. That 'Solace Eldean' track is definitely mine. I wrote it back in 1996!!! Not sure who yanked it, but strange; it was an original.

    How to use Prefixes

When posting a new topic, ou can choose one of the four preset prefixes. The default prefix is 1. work-in-progress. As you get feedback and develop your track, change the prefix accordingly to indicate the status of your track. This helps the evaluation team keep tabs on your track. Here are the prefixes and what they mean: work-in-progress Your track is a work-in-progress and you need feedback from the community. This is the default prefix. ready for review Change your prefix to this when you want a workshop evaluator to give your track an official look. Once they provide you with feedback, they'll change your track back to 1. work-in-progress. completed Change your prefix to this when you feel you're done with your track. submitted Change your prefix to this once you have submitted your completed track to the Judges Panel. As you can see we've numbered the prefixes to help you iterate through the process, but if you want to jump ahead and just post a completed track that doesn't require review, you can do that with the appropriate prefix as well.
