  1. Maybe I'm just a freak or something but I mean when I was 4 I had an NES with SMB1, SMB3, Adventure Island and a Sega Genesis with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and a couple other games. Older games are hard as balls by todays standards but they were still games and still played by us back then. Children will rise, or not, to your expectations of them. They want challenges and genuine achievement rather than games that give you wins for free and make it all super easy for you. The first time I ever actually beat Sonic 3 entirely on my own was an incredible feeling. Remember we're the generation that grew up with childhood games like The Lion King and those insane moon logic LucasArts and Sierra adventure games. Nobody told us that was "too hard" so we just kept trying until we beat them. Kids have a superpower, limitless potential growth as long as nobody tells them what they're doing is impossible.

  2. There are a few things wrong with the original provided MIDI: 1. The tempo is written at 148bpm, the MIDI that was presented was written at 115bpm. It wasn't on the grid when i loaded it in, so i knew it was converted than done by ear, which isn't the most practical way to sequence MIDI. 2. Instruments were selected at random, instead of the most logical 3. The hi-hat track is a mess. 4. It's a little lacking in areas, and some aspects sound odd. 5. Drums are missing snare and some toms. 6. A bit quiet in some areas, remember the Genesis didn't really have much expression, so a lot of the sounds were mechanical. The closest to expression is the attack on your synth sound. The original MIDI can be used don't get me wrong, but personally if you really want to achieve a more accurate cover, and less problematic track, my MIDI fixes all the problems. Thanks anyways.

  3. Hey, don't do this. Don't call out other replies as "patronizing." Give your advice without the snide commentary.

  4. Ahem... I am totally not being held against my will... In seriousness, I want to say I'm overwhelmed by the immediate reaction to Trism's reopening post. I'm humbled for the project by the positivity displayed despite the way I left everything. I reckon you folks deserve an explanation about what's been happening since April 2017. The thing is, when I put the project on hiatus simply for a bit of temporary breathing space, I didn't know it was the beginning of nearly 2 years of complication for me and my family, including borderline poverty, eviction, mental health and death. It's been a rough ride and I'm telling y'all this not for sympathy but for the explanation I feel you deserve. I'm sorry about the way I left it, and the way I stopped providing updates too. Life took centre stage and, well, yeah, whatever... Apologies. Things are still complicated for me at the moment (though it's easing), and I but I can think of nobody better to take the mantle of this project than @Trism and I'm excited to see how things finish up. I might have left the project for a while, but it never left me. Thanks once more everybody for your involvement in the project, continued support and belief in Trism. If anybody can get this project flying again, he can. Hopefully you guysngals won't mind me popping 'round every now and again to see how things are getting on. Odai.
