  1. Wow, I was definitely not expecting a mix like this. Much less a mix of the Dark World theme. Excellent job on this.. I really love the choice of soundfonts and their well placements. The beat comes on pretty heavy, and the little section that skips a bit caught me off guard as I heard it. Wow; McVaffe, you've really outdone yourself working on this one. Hopefully what DJ Pretzel says is not true.. We always need some talented and respectable mixers. Thanks for bringing this great stuff to the table. Edit: Wow, it even goes into the ending theme which has never been remixed on OCR before.. Has it? Excellent coverage here.. Why aren't people mixing it more often? Thanks for satisfying me completely!
  2. I can remember hearing this on the WIPs, seems most of the popular WIPs usually make it all the way to submissions. Glad this one made it. This is some great electronica composition; given that OCR doesn't get them very often anymore. I can't remember what comments I made on this the first time, but I do give it my seal of approval for what its worth.
  3. Hey Grey I remember when you posted this on the WIP boards. Hearing this sounded very familiar, and it's no wonder. This was one of my favorite works on the boards for quite some time. I'm glad you finished it up and submitted it; more glad to see that it passed the judges. Good stuff. Edit: Actually I don't think I'm too sure if I got it from the WIP boards.. Did you ever post it there? I think I might've gotten it elsewhere. Can't remember.
  4. This piece most definitely sends me off to a faraway landscape as I listen to it. Although very dreamy, I'm not too impressed with it unfortunately. It is a great piece, but in my opinion I have heard much better remixes. *Shrug*
  5. I cannot comprehend to you how beautiful this piece is. I've been waiting to hear something that capitvated me as much as this did for such a long time. The vocal oo's and ahh's are just gorgeous. Every instrument compliments each other to their fullest. .. I think I'm going to go find a corner to cuddle into listening to this, and cry. BEAUTIFUL. Download this -now- if you haven't already.
  6. It's been a long time since I've bothered to download a Super Mario World remix, not only have there been a million of them, they never change, so to speak. Anyhow, I'm giving this one its fair judgement, and I love how calm and relaxing it is. It's the kind of music you would most likely hear in a shopping center, if you think about it. I would even go as far as saying this sounds a bit "Megaman Legends-esque", which is ALWAYS a good thing in my opinion. Good stuff here.
  7. Holy hell, this is probably the best Sonic Adventure 2 mix the site has. First of all, this sounds AWFULLY professional, and done with quality MUCH higher than the Sonic Team could have ever mustered. I'm definitely impressed with how the original lyrics were handled, and how well the newly added lyrics fit with the rest of the musical piece too. I personally hated the original Knuckles tune. Even though it had the FUNK, it could have been done so much better. This remix right here supports my opinion. Really, really great shhtuff here!
  8. The chills still haven't gone away.. This is definitely one of the best FF6 remixes on the site, and the quality is unparalelled.
  9. This is truly beautiful.. But I don't remember this being Nanaki's theme, and for some reason this reminds me of Final Fantasy 6 instead.. Why is that?
  10. This is probably some of the best mixing and I've ever seen.. the vocal samples are just GUSHING with quality! Holy moly! If you haven't downloaded this yet and just looking at the forums, you're wasting time! go download! Now!
  11. Well, this track wasn't exactly what I would call outstanding.. although it does hold well on its own, since it's a lot different from what OCR's been getting lately. I like the pace of change, we need more songs like this.
  12. After 2:30 into the song, I started to really enjoy this. Being as it was my favorite part from the original piece. It's so eargasmic. I like your idea of converting the song into 7/8, although some parts of the song wound have sounded better in its original 6/8 scale. Wouldn't you agree? Well, probably not. You're the artist. I really like this one.. although I'm not too hard to please.
  13. Wow, I wasn't expecting it to be this good, I was a bit reluctant myself about downloading this.. seeing as this is the first BoF, I feel that BoF3 and 4 deserve to be mixed too. Anyhow, I like it. As far as the whole "epic" ideal - it should have been more epic. I am biased towards it and would've credited it much more than I already do. Love the guitars!
  14. I love how melodic that guitar(?) sounds in certain parts of this song. Although I vaguely remember hearing the original song in Earthbound, this could very well be a song of its own. It might not sound half bad with some lyrics, even!
  15. Wow, this is truely upbeat and beautifully done. Although I was afraid as soon as I saw the word "Zeal", I was going to hear a remix that sounded like the ten thousand others OCR hosts. I'm glad I was wrong; Zeal done in an upbeat jazz genre.. Nice idea! I also love all the finger snappin' goodness. Let's not forget the almighty violin!
  16. I say this because I know I am biased towards ambient/new age sound, I think this track should have leaned more towards it. The repetitiveness could have been avoided with that idea, right? But overall I liked this one. The acoustic guitar is really clean sounding.
  17. Magnet Man's theme was my favorite from Megaman 3, and the most memorable in my opinion. I really love the entire song, it's always so catchy. Maybe I'll have to play through Megaman 3 again just to hear the original!
  18. Well hey, this is definitely a nice change of pace. This is an excellent first submission by Kimchi. I hope more is on the way?
  19. This was one of my favorite tracks from Tales of Phantasia. Such a depressing track.. But lovely in that sense. Good job.
  20. Well, tell you the truth, I'm not really taken by this piece. The choices for instruments are nice, but it sounds very much like you took the original song directly from midi and played around with it to suit your style.. But with that said, nice work, I'm sure the average joe wouldn't be able to think of that.
  21. I recall hearing JigginJont's work before, probably from the WIP's.. But I remember this one being very exceptional, and of course, it is. I don't think I know anyone who can jam on a piano quite like him.. Excellent work, good song choice to arrange.
  22. It's been some time since I heard a remix that stood out as much as this does in overall quality. Really, really great stuff here. Zeal hasn't been mixed quite like this.. Even though there's a million Zeal remixes on OCR, this one is the most original sounding of them all.
  23. I think I remembered hearing this on the WIP boards, it was one among many of the new works in progress nowadays that I hoped would be passed, and voila, here it is. I do indeed felt like I was flying through the clouds as I listened to this, this is really some great work here. This is beginning to get me juiced to do a song of my own..
  24. I never heard anything from the Trigun series but I really liked this piece, it has a totally unique feel to it compared to most music on OCR lately. I like it DJP, you don't hear music done in this style too often. Edit: The part around 1:58 gets me heavy nostalgia of Chrono Trigger.. Oh sweet days!!
  25. Wow.. When I first saw the title on the main page I tried to picture how this song would sound before I downloaded it, and I never imagined it sounding this good.. Wow. This is incredible, cheesesticks to you!
