This mix reminds me of 'Machina Anesthesia'. So I think it´s clearly some New Age stuff. I´m not familiar with the original source tune. Also, I listened few mixes of the Mythril. But here, it is a great effort. I noticed he started working on this song at October of the last year and finished that in July, now. Then I found 9 months on the transition of this mix. Very pleasant and powerful work.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Blood on the Asphalt - History
Tex replied to Shael Riley's topic in Projects
Excellent work, Txai. This is a great asset to the project. Though largely a cinematic/orchestral piece, you've added just a touch of trance elements with some of the ethnic drum loops you use. Haha...I haven´t used drum loops on there. You can see the panning effect on the supposed "drum loops". Also, I think the arrangement has more than I expected. By the way, did you listened the original track? -
I am a big fan of NoppZ. But I can´t consider it as a ReMix. It´s pretty near of the original tracks, like I remember them from the game; so far away of the submission standards. Although happened that, I still love it.

After a long period of months, I´m sure my song is finished (Oh my God! I did exactly five minutes X_X). I only need your opinion, Shael Riley, and a feedback of a certain guy to finally polish my song. Here´s the link: http://www.vgmix.com/song_view.php?song_id=4219 Happy to see more gentlemen involved here, sir. -
OCR01394 - Revenge of Shinobi "Corner of Sunset and Keys"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Shinobi´s soundtrack was always a curious thing. This game is a classic. The songs are rich in melody and such. And man...it is quite amazing. Sunrise Theme is very good on this arrangement. The instrumentation was well executed. It don´t boring and it´s not repetitive. Very soft. -
If it is justice? Ah...you are the justice, man.

OCR01387 - Doom "The Dark Side of Phobos"

Daniel Baranowsky is one of the most powerful ReMixers that I´ve ever heard. He created impacts that only few mixers have courage to make. His arrangements has more variations that someone can expect. And his resources of knowledge never stop amazing me. This new track, is a realization to add. -
OCR01386 - Chrono Cross "To Times Once Forgotten"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Now, this is another good orchestral piece. Quality of right shot. I will listen the previous ReMix of this guy. -
Trash metal of industry. The arrangement is quite amazing; absent of repetitions, good variation of the original tracks. Has some atmospheric noises that I liked on beginning, like screams and such. Something awesome happen at 01:12, At Doom's Gate Theme was decently played. Instrumentation of high quality. And "Purgatory" is a perfect and creative title for this mix. Great job.

OCR01383 - DarXide "Starman (don't lose yourself)"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I want to know what is that at 01:36. It could be the robot voice. But I think it is the Slayer so hidden. My complaint is not the distortion of the square. Never, because it is very cool. The square wave has something strange in terms of quality on this certain period. That´s the problem here. -
OCR01243 - Donkey Kong Country "Machina Anesthesia"

I always remember GrayLightning on this ReMix. The first song that I listened of him, times ago. My favourite thing here is the arrangement. It has a lot of creativity, a more slow style and more beautiful things than the original source tune. I like the asian ideas on the transition of the mix, as he said that has some New Age influences. The percussion is very strategic and pleasant; sounds random. The instruments are very powerful and played really nicely. I love what the strings are doing, with the other instruments. Some sounds reminds me of factories, industries and such, like the original track was did to be. The bells are a nice thing. And the pizzicato is a perfect combination as well. All things here are doing a great work with high quality. Very pleasant and strong piece. I finally listened this ReMix again. Whatever, this is one of my favourites of GrayLightning. -
OCR01383 - DarXide "Starman (don't lose yourself)"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
ReMix aside painful. Female robot voice sounds awful. Some transitions aren´t bad. But the square wave used between 02:24 and 02:53 has noises of bad quality. Personally I think it could be better. But anyway it´s good enough to be accepted here. I like the panning on the instrumentation and the end, so different. STOP USING FL SLAYER!! PLEASE!! -
OCR00924 - Zombies Ate My Neighbors "Panic of the Undead"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I probably listened this ReMix some years ago. Now I remember where I found it. Definitively a good work. My favourite things here are the effects to do a concept so haunted: rain, thunder and screams. The instrumentation is very pleasant and the drums are too good. I played this game and I like the new arrangement on this mix. Really nice job. Coincidence here, Protricity did a ReMix of the same game that NoppZ. But before they made a collab with this ReMix. -
OCR01382 - Human Race "Bando alle Seghe"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Quite amazing. My only complaint is about the drumloops. But the instrumentation is pure fun. It´s curious. My favourite part is when the vocals did some panning effect. The beginning get a rest to do a relevant part at 00:48. I love it, very ethnic and electronic. Overall, this is a great ReMix. I will look for some New Age stuff, because I liked what I found now. -

Also we can get some points about the name of the project and the CD Art Cover. -
OCR00004 - Ghosts'n Goblins (C64) "Trance Version"
Tex replied to Joe Redifer's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This ReMix is a classic. I listened it some years ago. One of the best mixes that I´ve ever heard. In terms of electronic music, it is pretty enjoyable. I like the haunted concepts here. The synths selection is very cool. The drums couldn´t be better. It is exactly what I like. Keeping a creative variation, this song is great, as an accurate old stuff. -
OCR01380 - Landstalker "Rare Mineral Addict"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Shnabubula? I only listened his weird "Hunter's Community Chest". But now I like what he want to do here. His style of music is quite weird and powerful. I really love it. Great job! By the way this guy is an OCR judge now. He is doing a good work judging the songs, I guess. Consequently, Malcos left. -
OCR01381 - Final Fantasy X "Journey's End"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Pixietricks...I´m still listening her first ReMix, Zelda64 "Prayer". This new ReMix is quite enjoyable too. It is especially good, listening GrayLightning and Sephfire on the song. The female voices are very sweet and the instrumentation did an awesome ethnic contrast. I haven´t listened the original yet, but this ReMix must be really better. I also love it because is wide and calm. Basically, a dream of imaginations. -
OCR01379 - Unreal Tournament "Club Showdown"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I didn´t like this ReMix. There has been absolutely nothing brought to my attention. The guitar sounds very very very fake and cheap. FL Slayer sucks forever. The piano on end didn´t did justice. The majority of the synth sections are boring. I tried to enjoy the drums, but they are very weak. Maybe the female voice can do some good thing. But basically, the ReMix is very bad in a whole. I´m sorry. -
OCR01378 - Metal Gear Solid 2 "Salsa Snake"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This ReMix is something metal/ethnic. I like this combination of styles. Very creative. My only complaint is about the oboe, because it got in a volume very high. Anyway, really powerful work!!
-
Wow, this is an excellent example of good stuff in terms of electronic music. Very clean, funky and pleasant. Awesome composition. Great technique of deep resources, like filter, panning effect, etc. Great guitar. The other instruments are a good shot here. Powerful drums. Overall, excellent work!! 100/100

OCR01376 - Sonic & Knuckles "Lava Reach"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Jivemaster is really good. His old mixes are still enjoyed. And this is probably his best work. It is very wide, aww... 6:40 of fun. The resources of instrumentation are quite awesome. The drums are very powerful and the selection of synths are very good. The guitar was played nicely, and the electronic voices did an excellent contrast here. I like the technique of filter used on the transition, the invasion of stereo field is really great on this ReMix. The arrangement is my favourite part: Lava Reef and Hidden Palace Zone are a good choice to do a song of electronic style. Very clean, not repetitive, not boring...really solid and great job! YES. -
Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Blood on the Asphalt - History
Tex replied to Shael Riley's topic in Projects
Quoted for emphasis. What really happened here? I basically saw a lot of frustrations of the people. If someone really want to help the project, please, do a favor: don´t show your problem as a prize. The community of the project, need to establish a collaboration between themselves. It really need more cooperation. Search your vocation around the project. Don´t be lazy, go to the ReMixing Forum to learn more. Put your song on WIP Forum and read the feedback of the folks. Be friendly. Contact people to help you, and practise your autonomy. Bah...you all have more better english than myself and don´t want to be great? I can´t believe. This is serious. Can some of you guys get some autonomy? Here are some exceptions, but not enough to put the project up. Be great, community!! Can we? -
OCR01374 - Mega Man X4 "The Father of All"
Tex replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This is of course really clean. I listened this song on VGMix and put it in my toplist a few times ago. This is probably very cool for the Megaman fans. I enjoyed a lot what Shariq Ansari did with this track. In terms of arrangement and instrumentation, it is too satisfactory and pleasant. Very interesting effort.
