  1. *shrug* Can't say I'm an expert on the subject, so I'll take your word.
  2. Nah, I wouldn't say always. Some of the more extreme electronic genres like industrial are built around really harsh sounds. digital clipping or distortion seems appropriate if you want something nice and abrasive.
  3. The montastery idea sounds pretty good to me.
  4. Maybe take a break for awhile, mate. Sounds like you're pushing yourself too hard... trying to force something from nothing. I haven't had a slump in awhile, but when I did nothing really worked. I just had to ride it out. edit: oh, you already said you took a break. Maybe a longer one?
  5. Yup. This has po's fingerprints all over it. Chillin'. Great stuff.
  6. Really? Is that the regular price now? I remember it being on sale months ago for that price, but I thought that was a group buy or something. If that's the reg price now, that's, like, a really awesome deal.
  7. Yeah, but, for an extra $50, it seems silly not to just save up and get GPO or Silver, which sound FAR better imo than the Edirol dealie. I think Edirol is WAY overpriced considering the quality of the sounds.
  8. ^^^ what he said. It's not a conspiracy theory at all... I wouldn't remotely call myself a reg here, and it's plain as day to me.
  9. That drives me nuts when people do it, because I can't understand for a second why they do it.
  10. yeah, I'm a newbie. However, I took a gander at the list and saw that someone else was already doing the Mysterious Woods theme, which is the one I'm gonna do, so ne'ermind. edit: I've only done a couple game arrangements, but if you want to hear the most recent head over to the link in my sig and listen to "A Mountain Most Evil". Good luck with your project though, I'll definitely keep my eye open for the release.
  11. I'm not gonna read all 30 pages now, but is the list closed? Why just today I was thinking today about doing a Link's Awakening mix.
  12. Really enjoyable stuff. This is your best orchestral-esque work so far, I think. Liked all the layers of percussion. All around excellent... I'm very jealous of your skills and drive.
  13. Well, uh, if you don't know anything about composing, you should probably deal with that problem first before you worry about buying orchestral samples.
  14. I believe it. Alesis generally excels at kick-assery.
  15. lol, I actually feel kinda sorry for Argitoth, for all the crap he gets.
  16. Braincells, good to see this mix on OCR... great stuff. Nice change to see some a metal arrangement posted here.
  17. I listened to this like 20 times in a row today. Oh man, I was SO mellowed out.
  18. I don't normally have a lot of patience for VG arrangements with vocals, but this is something else entirely. Wow! Very, very sweet. You have an amazing voice, BTW.
