  1. Hey there. I checked out the page and the video. Quality stuff. Unfortunately, it's all been done before. I'd be much more interested in this project if there was a new twist - something we haven't heard before. But you very well know that these are all properties that appear in Video Games Live!, etc. Why not venture out for something different? How many times can Mario be orchestrated with the melody in the upper woodwinds with xylophone accents? Please don't misunderstand me - what you've done is amazing and not something most people can do. The arrangement of Mario is solid - the chords are very well built, you've picked the "right" instruments to carry the melodies, etc. But I've just heard it all before. Does that make sense? Also, how are you going to get the licensing for the Sonic tracks? From everything I know, Tommy Tallarico himself had to pull major teeth just to get Green Hill Zone licensed (which does now allow for anyone in the U.S. to license it), but I'm just curious if you're working with good people. Anyway, sorry to rain down on your Mario Sunshine, but that's just my two cents. I bet news outlets and gamers would be much more excited about a Mega Man orchestrated project (while so very often remixed for rock, etc., it's not often heard as orchestral) or I would personally donate body parts for a proper Jet Force Gemini orchestral recording, but I understand that is niche/obscure. Best of luck and keep this thread informed!
  2. Gonna epic bump this thread. iTunes: http://bit.ly/bdchronoi Loudr: http://bit.ly/V5plbB Physical CD: http://bit.ly/ctmestore CHRONOTORIOUS has been reprinted. It's in a new case (not jewel case) with a little bit of additional artwork. The CD and the digital have fifteen tracks, the album is licensed, and orders are fulfilled through my new partner, Fangamer. So you'll probably get stickers, buttons, and what not if and when you order the CD. Plus their cool "packy slips." iTunes - you know the drill. Loudr is like Bandcamp - pay the minimum or you can pay more, get .MP3, .FLAC, etc. Good stuff. Anyway, I hope you'll check it out if you missed it the first time around. Feel free to tell a friend. If this is news to you, you may recognize "Rockin' on Heaven's Door" as Danimal Cannon has added the tune to Armcannon's repertoire. Rock.
  3. If it's an animal killing other animals, PETA isn't going to care. They just don't like humans. PETA is a terrorist organization. /derail
  4. Thanks, dude! I knew my Predator fans would come out of the woodworks for this one. X-Men: First Class, Temple of Doom, Rocky and more coming up.
  5. This is a good point as it only affects the value of Pandora as a whole. Didn't think about that. Also, Patrick Burns, I don't think anyone would be cool with the text of what the artist is, etc., not being there. Also, the further we go out from here, the less there is of a chance of an end user owning anything. As with some software, we're only licensing it from the company and never really own it. I think music may be chasing films to be the first medium that only licenses its content to the user. Meaning, you'll never be able to have it, but you can stream it on the reg (e.g. Netflix). I also don't know very much about this so feel free to educate me. Just my "off the dome" comments. And just for the record, love iTunes as an artist, hate using it as a consumer. But such is Life.
  6. June's track. From "Predator," it's Anytime feat. Lucio Baldomero. I love Silvestri's score to this film, which is also one of my favorite movies. It was pretty difficult doing orchestration, wrangling fat beats, and having Lucio's vocals fly over the top, but I'm happy with what I've accomplished here. I hope you Predator fans enjoy it. As will always be with this collection, the track is FREE but feel free to donate a little cheddar. More goodness on the way. Stick around.
  7. http://www.digitalmusicnews.com/permalink/2013/20130604westergren I've seen multiple sources talk about this. Dude doesn't need to make so much money. He could easily take less and pay out more. That said, we don't know how much he's putting that money back into lobbying and what not. And, as you know, your experience on Pandora is not the norm. Not everyone is seeing the same returns on the exposure. Did you have a different view point on Pandora before you started seeing its value to your career? Genuinely curious. Also, I think there's a bit too much whining from artists in general. If you're making music to make money, you're screwed. That one dude's letter saying something like there wouldn't be any music left to put on Pandora when all the musicians are working at Walmart was just stupid. People are putting out so much free, quality music EVERY SINGLE DAY in THIS community, it's hard to even compete -- let alone keep up with! I still have a backlog of stuff to listen to that people in this community have released for free. I personally struggle with finding ways to stay relevant with music that is for sale when there are so many people giving it away. Ultimately, I'm with you in the "I'll take what I can get." Someone enjoying what I've made is better than no one!
  8. Here's all you need: The whole soundtrack is pretty much a relaxing, albeit pensive, hot mess.
  9. Thanks for the heads up on this! Downloading now and can't wait to play!
  10. I had a procedure today and have had a few too whiskey colas. Brandon straight cray. So am I. Thanks for the hook up, LT. And thanks to Joshua Morse, I am fuggin' mellllllllllllllow right now.
  11. I mean digital. As a contributor, I'd think (at least), it'd be cool to get the music, too. I understand the importance of the Kickstarter backers, but also remembering that none of the contributing artists were paid (well, full disclosure, unless they won a contest like I did), I would just think that the artists would get a chance to hear the album early, too. Just my thoughts. Edit: Though thinking about it, it could simply be a licensing issue. Not sure how this project is being handled.
  12. As I understand, the first disc went out to Kickstarter backers today which is awesome. But as a contributing artist, do we not get the album, too?
  13. Sorry, man I'm not gonna hate on tattoos, but I can hate on the game. lulz Love the musics in all three of those first three. And so much more.
  14. This is well done. Looks good. Looking forward to seeing the Green Hill Zone section. I've never been a crazy Sonic fan (or even liked a single game enough to play for more than 30 minutes) but the art is great and the music is very close to my heart.
  15. Get us a picture or something when you start adding these. Android finally got Vine yesterday so I made this one of my posters: http://t.co/8Hjuac63ff
  16. Once a month for the rest of 2013, I'm releasing a track featuring a movie score beat I've created, and featuring some MC friends on the lyrics and rhymes. First up is Star Trek (2009) - I absolutely love Giacchino's scores to these (now two) films. I think the theme is a great fit and I like how he layers it with the classic Star Trek theme for the credits. Anyway, I made this beat, got Former Fat Boys to write up some rhymes, and I'll have artwork for each individual track by Kevin Church. Thought at least some of you might enjoy this. And it's totally FREE. All of the tracks will be. Thanks for listening. (click the cover above to download for free)
  17. This album is incredible. I ended up listening to it way more than the latest Daft Punk or anything else I've gotten my hands on. I think it's his strongest work. As a longtime contributor to OCReMix, I thought y'all might want to know what he's been up to. Check it out!
  18. I have this beautiful print in a wood frame on my wall. It's fantastic. http://www.fangamer.net/products/timewing-schematics They have plenty of great posters. Ask around for custom artwork - trade custom remixes and a bit of cash. Hobby Lobby has 50% off frames right now and does custom matting for cheap. I know because I just got a 24" x 36" frame for $20 bucks and they're doing the matte, paper, and wire hanging for $15. Nice prices! Good luck! This is my dream, too - all custom artwork in my office!
  19. PunchQuest is the jam, son. Get on it.
  20. Now that I've had some time, I'm disappointed. But "Give Life Back to Music," "Lose Yourself to Dance," and "Get Lucky" are my jams. I also don't like their first album and I'm gonna go back and listen to "Human After All" again because I think I'll appreciate that more now (do love tracks on there, though). REALLY looking forward to the remixes of this album. I think it's going to unleash all hellfire and I bet I'll really dig that.
  21. Started off strong for me and then got wacky in the middle. Still not sure what to make of it yet. So far, nothing ground breaking but some damn good tracks on it. Some freakin' weird ones, too.
  22. Those systems weren't just about games. That's not fair. You can do more than games on your Wii or DS. I'm on this. I still have all my old systems. I've never sold a system, though my Mom threw away my Maganavox Odyssey 2 for some reason I can't recall. Crap. Anyway, there's too much wait and see. In the end, buy what you want, right?
