  1. @lemnlime Hey, sorry to hear we both had traumatic childhoods. Games will always be special to me for the same reasons you stated. And sorry you didn't dig the mix, but thank you for the constructive feedback! Take it easy
  2. @DimeTower Thanks so much! My name is Mustin, and thank you for enjoying my arrangement!
  3. Thanks, @The Damned! @docnano The music and the sense of adventures were certainly what drew me in! And I've made plenty of remixes since 2011. This is just the first for OCR in that time! Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment!
  4. Dude. I just went through getting locked out and a password reset with total determination to comment on this. This is far and away the best work I've heard from you! This style really compliments the melody well, and your chord substitutions near the end are incredibly tasteful. Fantastic work! Very 80's and I love it. Rock on.
  5. Thanks, yo! I'm planning on redoing this as a video, spruced up in the now. We'll see how long it takes me, but watch out for it!
  6. This is incredible. With the other two documentary films on KickStarter (BEEP & The Player's Score), what a time to be interested in VGM! And freakin' RED BULL of all things is behind this one! I adore this and can't wait for the other episodes. Hearing and seeing Ozawa and Tanaka speak on their experiences, along with excellent camera work and editing - I'm in awe. Thursday can't come soon enough!
  7. I do if zyko doesn't come around. Very sorry but due to a major family implosion, I'm not able to go. So sad. But things are looking good otherwise, despite implosion. If zyko doesn't get back to you, eMail me at mr dot mustin atttttttttt gmailz and I'll find out how to transfer it. Blammo. EDIT: I found my registration and it says you have until midnight September 10 to transfer to someone else so get at me!
  8. Wait, never mind, put me in 72712
  9. Found this amazing map today of where Chiptune artists, video game bands, etc. are located: http://chiptuneswin.com/blog/chipartists-list-and-map/ Wondering if there's something like this for the OCR folks? I just moved to Henderson KY just south of Evansville IN and would like to know where are the VGM lovers/makers are is at am. I tried searching the forums but didn't find anything. lol hlep?
  10. Reg'd. The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.
  11. Fangamer.net. I support this. Full disclosure - they sell my stuff, but there's a reason I pushed so hard for them - I love their company and was a patron long before a partner.
  12. I believe this accurately addresses every single concern in this thread.
  13. I don't like it. I've done it a couple of time for clients, but it's very blatant. A customer had me make a beat of "Bad Company," by the band Bad Company, off the album Bad Company (no really) and it's very apparent that the sample is a sample on the hook. I still think it's cool, but I don't like to do it. I can re-create it in my own way and I prefer that. That said, there are certainly pieces I enjoy with sampling. My favorite sampled beat has to be Jay-Z/Just Blaze's "Show Me What You Got." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qopwiGItevI) Awesome stuff. Also big fan of Lupe Fiasco's "Kick Push" ( ) and Timo Maas/Kelis "Help Me" ( ). The originals are just so good, you know? (Do check out the site Antonio Pizza linked, http://whosampled.com for great info). So if you do it, cool. But I don't like to do it. Just because it's so awesome, let's listen to Herrmann's "The Day the Earth Stood Still" now 'cause DAMN.
  14. I super heart JMorse's jam. Sweet comp.
  15. I don't really like Secret of Mana. Love the music (most of it), but as a game, it gets boring. On the other hand, I adore Secret of Evermore. It's made in the USA so it's no JRPG, but it's captivating. It is most certainly not for everyone but there is something about it for the outliers that is very fulfilling. I can't really explain it. Is it the all-American story of a boy and his dog? The B-movie references? The alchemy? The music (oh my GOD the music!)? I dunno - it just resonates with me. Just my fyi
  16. We added panels taking away the jewel case and making it a cardboard case. Laura M. Wilson did a nice piece with everybody in the Epoch, and there are some logo shifts and what not. Very cool!
  17. dude. I'm with you on something needing to be IMMEDIATELY good - waiting for a game to get good? AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FO' DAT! I hate most RPGs, too. Super Mario RPG is awesome, but it's no Chrono Trigger. Going back and playing it - it's totally monotonous. Final Fantasy V? Can't fucking stomach it when compared to IV and VI. Vagrant Story? More like Vagrant BORING (hahaha but really - I found it boring). That said, Wild ARMs really kept my attention. The visuals are PS1 but they're hyped up SNES and not the polygon fuckfests we got in that era. And the music MY GOD THE MUSIC. The music is so damn good it will keep you completely enthralled. The moment when the game finally starts (you'll know it when you see it) you stand up and ask, "What am I experiencing right now?!" And the answer is a pretty dang good game. Again, it may be no Chrono Trigger, but as a dude that doesn't like most RPGs and has also played Chrono Trigger a bajillion times, I'd check out Wild ARMs. Chuch.
  18. What Sonic 2 track did you have licensed? What other work do you have available?
