  1. I was a tad sad to hear the N64 get hated on towards the middle of the show. Cause personally the N64 had so many awesome titles...from Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Golden Eye, Banjo Kazooie, Jet Force Gemini, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros., Rogue Squadron... also I actually had more fun with friends with the N64, as you had games where you could have 4 players. But I digress... still a great show. Totally think Mega Man Zero series has an incredible soundtrack. Should be covered more.
  2. I can always use a slave for life, so I may take up that project as well. I'd love to be a coordinator and motivator recruiter in those two projects. Since that post it's been brought to my attention that I should head some of these and I may just do that. First up though I think I'm going to head up Golden Sun once Serious Monkey Business is released and after Essence of Lime is completed as well. So keep an eye out in May for these projects to possibly start. As soon as I have a bit more free time things may materialize. Also Beanland is awesome, his musical style is memorable and iconic. Jet Force Gemini has one of the best soundtracks from a game done by Rare, it's so atmosphere and at other times mysterious, or driving. It needs a lot more attention and love then it has yet to receive (the game included). I hope I can find people on the site who would be interested in participating.
  3. Thanks I really appreciate it! I've had a lot more time with Essence of Lime, I jumped on this project probably 3 to 4 weeks ago. I'm gonna go on a bit of a break after a while, but my next plans are to create album art to motivate people into doing remix projects centered around Golden Sun and Jet Force Gemini... that's right if I do the art maybe it will motivate people to remix the albums, lol. We will see... I think art is a great way to recruit people into a project, so the next covers I do will be for projects that have yet to start.
  4. I hope people will enjoy all the art that goes with the CD. Completed the the disc art options yesterday and everything seems to be in line in order for release. Can't wait for the release myself!
  5. I'm interested in it myself, would be a lot of fun. Not sure if I could do it 102% as fast as possible mind you. I've never speed run the game, but I know I can beat it really fast. I've memorized pretty much everything in the game by heart I've played it that much. So at least I'd know where everything is.
  6. I have no problems with someone taking more time, I hope more people can be just as patient. I mean lets face it this project is what can be called an endeavor of love for the music of the game. If someone feels a song isn't complete, or that they are unsatisfied with it then they should be given a bit more time to tweak. Cause in the end the final product should be something all who worked on it are at the very least satisfied. Although I totally understand the way of an artist, always hoping to improve and make something better... some say art is never truly complete even. The mere hope is to find satisfaction with a piece of work. By the way I thought I'd mention I've finished work and submitted the cover art up to OA, here's hoping he gets it. I believe every aspect of the packaging art has been completed and is set to go, Emunator was doing some final touches on portions of the cover art, and said he had finished his part, so this would make it complete now. Also... is there still time to put in a donation through pay pal or something? Has the goal been reached? I know I'd personally shell out a contribution if there is a vague chance of getting a physical copy at some point. Just curios on it all, lol. Can't wait to see the released product!
  7. SO my assumption is that it's currently sitting at a 2 disc release (which may become 3). I'm assuming that the project should be uniformed and that each disc cover bear connection. @ Emunator, I'd be all up for working together, I would think the only concern would be that we should simply make sure that the style between the fronts and backs would be complimentary at the least. So I can contact you about it and you can give me info on what you've already done.
  8. Currently I'm planning on Adding a C2 to the DK title... and then instead of Country 2 on the nailed sign I can put Diddy's Kong Quest on that. Then under Serious Monkey Business I can put the subtitle of OC remix project underneath. There will be plenty of text for all to enjoy. But yeah about the sleeve vs. jewel case, I'm going to have to wait and find out exactly how many covers need to be done. I'm assuming a back cover is going to be needed eventually. I'm willing to do it all it's just a matter of finding out what is needed.
  9. Yeah I have considered the various options of titling... DKC the initials of the game series... or I could spell it out completely as Donkey Kong Country... there's even the fact that the full title of the game is Donkey Kong Country: Diddy's Kong Quest. Obviously Serious Monkey Business and OC Remix Project should be a part of the label for obvious reasons. I'm trying to balance things out. So at this point I could shuffle things around and add a 'C' to the DK logo. I'm going to take a look at the previous remic album though for titling inspiration I think and follow in it's foot prints roughly if I can. More feedback though is always good.
  10. Thank you for all the feedback from everyone, I'd personally been trying to fit banana's in (I was going to sneak them into the crate in the background possibly but whenever I tried it, it didn't look just right) or was thinking of adding feathers and webs over the crate to represent some Animal Buddies. I'll address a few of the concerns and the reasoning to why I did things the way I did. I didn't do a DK barrel because CD covers are square so I thought it would be cool if this pirate crate filled out the whole image. The fonts are supposed to either look branded on or carved into the wood. The text should be a little rough as wood isn't an even surface and so to ink it or burn on it, it wouldn't be done evenly. If Bahamut and Taucer want the cover to be a secret I will do so and converse with them about it from here on in. The reason I posted it was was simply because I figured this was where those involved with the project were getting feedback or discussing what needed to be done to complete the project. So I wanted to get some input from other project members as well so as to create something that captured the feel of the project. Now though I've had a lot of great things added to the list to possible additions to the cover; ____________________________________________________________________________ Possible Elements to be Added; - Diddy and Dixie's Hat's (since the game is about them) - Banana's or Banana Peels - DK Hero Coins - Kremcoins - possible adjustments in title (put Country into the acronym DKC, or spell it all out into Donkey Kong Country) - OC Remix Project (will be added as lower subtitle) - Thrown Feces ____________________________________________________________________________ Also I want to know I suppose from Bahamut and Taucer if more then one cover is needed (multiple discs?) or back covers with track list (my idea for a back cover would consist of a pirate map with Crocodile Isle on it). That kind of stuff I can do to, I have plenty of ideas and concepts. From what I gather this project is long over due to be finished so that's why I would rather go in the current direction art wise, as doing something hand drawn takes me more time obviously. Still I want to do the best and most professional job I can. I'm going to take pointers from the previous installment's cover as well to give the continued work on the DKC trilogy a consistent appearance. I can't wait to hear some of the work.... especially the Mine Shaft level music (I believe it's called Kannons Claim if I'm not mistaken) cause that's some of the best music in the entire game. Sorry for the long post, but for all those who want to be informed, now you are.
  11. Ok so yeah I'm working on a possible Album art/CD cover seeing as it was mentioned that it was up for grabs. I want to do something that people would approve of, and so I've come up with some what of a demo of something I whipped up a few days ago. I've been tinkering with it and it still needs something. It's obviously unfinished but that's a good thing because it's a better way to get feedback. So please unload your feedback if you can. Ideas, considerations, alternate art style choices for the cover... I'm flexible and fast. I'm personally working on a hand drawn cover, but that takes a bit more time and I wanted to whip up a demo cover piece to show that I've been working on something, not to mention I want to get the feedback of those already apart of this project. So yes give your opinions, it would be greatly appreciated, I'll add and make modifications and all that jazz based on feedback. With a little time I'll have something more original as well. Hand drawn stuff takes time though.
  12. So you would like some characters from the game on the cover, as opposed to a more simplistic cover with a label right? I'll create something then fan-art-ish. Then I'll go with a style and see where it takes me from there.
  13. I'll definitely take a stab at this and create a very quick mock up... I will say though that if you if you can give a small piece of advice to what kind of image you want to capture that would be appreciated;eg. serious, light hearted, dark/moody/ cartoon-y, comic like, realistic... ect. Honestly any feedback from project leaders helps make it easier for me to cater to the desires of what is wanted. I'll whip up a demo just to show my efficiency and skill although as an artist I can create some original art. Thanks and I'll have everything in order soon.
  14. Have they already finished the album art for the project? I just caught wind of the project and I want to be involved. I've currently been working on the Essence of Lime project but the covers and CD art are already pretty much done and I'm looking to do some more cover art for other projects, and DKC2 happens to be my favorite of the series. Best music, best visual style/environments and all in all it's simply epic. So to be able to art to capture that would be awesome, but I figure this project is nearing completion from what I've read... but if they need CD art and labels, I'd love to do it. So if anyone knows let me know. Peace;
  15. I thought I'd bring this topic back up to the fore front again... But basically a Golden Sun OCR project should be done, an official one run much similar to how the Tales of Symphonia one was done as well as Street Fighter or DKC games. Golden Sun is a great candidate since it has a renowned sound track and is greatly under remixed on OCR and over the internet in general. Yet the game was big enough and successful enough that it should've gotten more attention. With the announcement of Golden Sun DS, I think it would be a great reason to kick start this project, to not only provide a great soundtrack remix, but to also remind people just how great Golden Sun games really were. It would ease the wait for the new title as well. Surely some people will attempt this, as it would be great to see done... the entire sound track is really long though so even if 50 songs were completed out of all the songs that would be quite a feat.
  16. Good call KyleJCrb's I was just about to mention that Gusty Garden was just done by Carbohydrom. As well there was another song in DoD called Flaming Hope which seems to be a variation of Gusty Garden with the Fire World/Ice World theme. If I'm not mistaken. There have been quite a few Super Mario Galaxy remixes done. I'm hoping some long forgotten games get more attention though before we start seeing loads of Super Mario remixes... Specifically Golden Sun right now That and the Mega Man Zero series as well. Some game series get over looked way too much.
  17. I discovered in the last year a torrent/zip file from some site (which I can't remember now sadly) that has 57 song in it, with Piano/synth/guitar renditions of various themes. It seems to have been done by a particular Japanese artist that goes by サカル バモトイ. I obviously can't read Japanese so I couldn't tell you, but if people try searching that name they may be able to find this folder/files themselves to enjoy since everyone here seems to enjoy Golden Sun this much as well. Also perhaps we should start an official Golden Sun Remix thread since a lot of people want this. I mean then we could all list the songs which we would like to see remixed by remixers. Either way just thought i'd mention this because I want to see Golden Sun take fore front again. Oh also check out the Plasma's. They do a cover of the Livero theme in heavy metal. You can check them out here and download albums as well from his Myspace. Check it out here; http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=388268271
  18. I believe this song is the same one used in both the original GC version of the game and the Wild World DS game. It's probably the most mellow song ever and every time I hear it I can't help but just let my character stand there as I enjoy it's melody. It's sad sounding in a sweet sort of way... I feel like it should be done with piano or something. I'm not sure if someone out there shares the same interest in the song as I do, but I'll post a link to where you can hear it; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGronC9jrlc Please check it out, and if someone could remix this and such I'd love it. I currently can't even get the song on MP3 since apparently there is no soundtrack to download anywhere or buy even. Plus I'd like to hear some accomplished musician give a try and recreating this tune. Still please try to create the same atmosphere though. You can also hear this song in Smash Bros. Brawl; This version is a lot more upbeat though. I figured I'd just mention it since this may make the song more identifiable to people.
  19. I'll see what I can do to help. I haven't played four swords in a while. I may try searching for the soundtrack and once I listen to the entire soundtrack I can pick a good piece to transition from with those chords your looking for. I'm going to try and find something in 4sword adventure simply because I remember it had a distinct soundtrack and I don't think I've heard many remixes of it's sound track and it was definitely a great game. If I find something I'll post again.
  20. I will say that it would be nice to see someone attempt to string all those lighthouse musical themes into one. Sort of music with narrative. I mean alternating between some slower and faster rhythmic pieces. I think the mix of all four would make fore a piece of music with a lot of variety.
  21. I'm glad to see people are working on Golden Sun remixes. @ Vagrance Glad to know Venus lighthouse will get remixed. It's definitely one of my favorite themes out of both games. @ LuketheXjesse Not only would it make a great techno electronics but it would also rock as a speed metal type song as well. I think there's a lot of potential for some hardcore rock epics to be created from all the various Battle themes in the series.
  22. I've always been a huge fan of the Golden Sun series (look at the two titles as one game really since the game is truly a two parter), the music is incredible. Sadly it seems to be a commonly overlooked game for remixing. There's a lot of awesome tracks I'd love to see remixed, from the various battle themes to over world music. Most of all though I think it would be incredible to hear a medley remix of all four of the Lighthouse themes put together as a symphonic telling of the tale. You can hear all four of the Lighthouse themes at each of these links, in order of which lighthouses are visited first to last. Mercury Lighthouse Venus Lighthouse Jupiter Lighthouse Mars Lighthouse Anyone interested in hearing them should be able to download them by right clicking and "save as". If it doesn't work just check out the site which has them which is where I've gotten the original soundtrack from. You can find it here; Original Soundtrack Song List A good place to check out all the songs for those interested. In any case I hope someone will consider taking up this request because the Golden Sun section is really empty. And as much as I love other RPG mixes from FFVI and Chrono Trigger and such... it would be nice to see some remixes from another RPG with an awesome soundtrack as well. Thanks to all those who check this out! *Extra Note* - Clicking the links will only play a snip from the song, save and download the entire song and play it to hear the whole thing.
  23. I'm a huge Golden Sun fan and I think this song is awesome. It does the original tune justice. Sadly though it wasn't one of my favourite tunes in the game. Yet I do really like this piece. Hopefully we will see some of the other tunes for the game done.
