  1. We're planning possibly 1 more.
  2. Great job cutting him loose! VGM!
  3. Beatdrop, Jivemaster, and Redg! (Before you ask, it's pronounced "Rej", like short for Reggie. Just think of Reggie Fils-Aimé; Redg is probably his body double!) Along with our new Workshop mod Argle, who was announced last week, we've excited to also have some kickass new (some old) judges. Welcome them aboard, and/or express your anger and skepticism!
  4. My wife knows about it and promotes it. We're friends. THAT COUNTS! /necro

  6. Yep, the timing's basically the same. Besides some embellishments here and there, it's just the source tune adapted for a new set of instruments. The brass was also lacking, but that's typical of faux brass. in any case, you need more interpretation beyond swapping in new instruments. This is a cool cover, but a violation of our arrangement standards. NO (override)
  7. Thanks for being wrong. Thanks to Hakštok for quoting me and giving the correct answer. YES, you can do an arrangement of an arrangement. Read my quote above for the details.
  8. Thanks for the catch. It'll be fixed soon.

  13. Artist handles are updated, some source tune titles are corrected for the OST's official iTunes US release, artist notes are bundled in, updated iTunes-compatible tagging, higher quality MP3 encodings, and tagged FLACs instead of untagged WAVs!
  14. And 12 hours later for me, I made the drive back. MAGFest, good times as always!
  15. 10 hours later for me, I made the drive.
  16. Here I be! I be here! (At 8.5) Wish you we're here, but let's do this again in January!

  18. For a 2:50-long piece, I needed at least 85 seconds of overt source usage for the VGM to be dominant. 15.5-:28, :33.75-:50, 1:27.25-1:44, 1:58-2:12, 2:25-2:38 = 72.5 seconds The piano chords used at the opening and during the sax soloing also played the Ice Man progression, only simplified, but I made the connection there as well, so I'm fine with the source usage. That shuddering vibrato will definitely make some other listeners shudder. It didn't bother me... a ton, but it'll definitely rub some people the wrong way. Keep in mind, the context is that he's a washed up lounge singer. With awfully cheesy lyrics to boot. I'll also join in the chorus of people saying the ice cube SFX was too much for too long, but it didn't affect my vote either. Unexpected and interesting approach going the comedic lounge route. Props for a fun curveball, Thad! YES
