  1. I'd like to hear a rendition of A Hero's Litany... which isn't in the Medleys section anymore.
  2. This has seriously been getting to me: looking at the two soundtrack CDs & the horribly sampled Ninja Gaiden Trilogy game for the SNES, the music for the Ninja Gaiden games haven't received the credit they so truly deserve, especially NG3. With that said, here are my requests: Ninja Gaiden: -Act 2-2: Death Valley -Act 4-2: Basilisk Mine Field Ninja Gaiden 2: -Act 1-1 "Going Gets Tough" Ninja Gaiden 3: -Act 1 (Factory) -Act 2-1 (Desert) -Act 2-2 (Cave) -Act 3-1 (Jungle) -Act 4-1 -Act 4-2 (Spikes) -Cutscene at the start of Act 6 (after Foster enters the subspace)
  3. There were a couple Rockman Arrange Special CDs, & the second one had a nice arrangement of Wave Man... except it included sound effects. Why the hell do they do that? I never really understood the concept behind that. If I wanted to hear sound effects, I'd just record myself playing it... or rip them myself. Anyway, I'd like to hear a good arrangement as well... without in-game sound effects.
  4. Whoa; I missed everything! Actually, not everything seeing as how the album isn't publicly released yet. Anyways, I came across this by listening to Kindred, a nicely done arrangement. I've also found the quality of OCR's music improving over the years. I found myself deleting most old music tracks from this site. Of course, there are some exceptions. Anyway, keep doing what you're doing!
  5. How does Amazon compare to eBay as far as customer support/fraud/legal matters go? There are lots of people with the "eBay mentality" screwing people over. A couple of times I got shafted as well as a buyer by a couple of sellers who closed their accounts. Amazon is already my first choice for music; I switched from iTunes a while back. Amazon is looking more promising now for selling items.
  6. I would really like to hear a metal rendition of the Boss theme from the NES version of TMNT (NSF track 12). It's the track that plays on all the major bosses of the game (Rocksteady, Mecha Turtle, Mouser). I'd also like to request the following NES games: TMNT - Area 5 (NSF Track 3) some sort of '80s rock mix Contra Force - Missions 1-3 (NSF Tracks 4/6/7) Burai Fighter - Any Stages (NSF Tracks 1-5) Ending (NSF Track
  7. Every level had different music, so I assume you're talking about the first set (1-1/1-2). But I remember liking the others, too.
  8. I'm seeing about starting a topic in the Competitions forum. I've made a tentative list of rules here: http://www.geocities.com/jedi_questmaster/Rules.txt I'm also making the track list: http://www.geocities.com/jedi_questmaster/Metal_Gear_Track-Price_List_Tentative.xls The NES NSF files can be downloaded from this site. Does anybody know where I can find a KSS file to use as a reference for the MSX music? I have a lot going on right now, I'll be leaving for country probably this coming Thursday. I wish I had these tools: http://www.geocities.com/jedi_questmaster/neededmenu.gif
  9. The music in 3D Worldrunner didn't really stick out for me, except maybe this theme: http://www.geocities.com/jedi_questmaster/3-D_World_Runner_-_Overworld.mid & the Game Over theme. Man, was that a hard game.
  10. Yes! I love this theme, & I haven't even played the game. On a side note, does the X mean 10? I don't recall 4 through 9.
  11. I don't really play an instrument, but I sequenced this without the <strike>luxury</strike> aid of track-splitting. http://www.laurasmidiheaven.com/0vg/GameboyAdvance-JurassicParkInstituteTourDinoRescue.shtml
  12. Metal Gear (MSX version) - I don't see myself buying an MSX anytime in my life.
  13. Awesome! Snake's Revenge was also covered, I love that! Now I need to get a KSS plugin for Winamp & start listening to the MSX version. By the way, in the top right it says I have 1 unread message, but when I click on 'private messages' it says I have nothing in my inbox. What's up with that?
  14. Okay, I've decided that I'll include both the MSX & the NES version of Metal Gear 1. Some of the songs are the same anyway. But remember: there's going to be a prize for each song, so the more you know from each version, the more you can compete in. If this turns out successful, we can have another one for Snake's Revenge & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake as another competition. And strings/orchestra is fine. Right now, the only genre I really don't feel too keen on is techno, & that's because there's too much of it out there. If there's a convincing enough techno arrangement, I may accept it. Okay! The site works. As for the DoD Metal Gear month, it says to go to the main site, but that isn't working. ??? Does anybody know where I can get those songs?
  15. Okay, again - I may not restrict this to just metal & rock (what kind of arrangements do you have in mind?) The Shizz isn't working for me. Is the site down right now? I've also decided to have multiple winners & put a prize out for the best arrangement in each song. That way I can ensure an arrangement will be done for each track.
  16. I thought about this just now as I was driving home from Target: I really like Metal Gear music - a whole lot. And all the music I like hasn't been tapped into: the password theme, intro, & the climax "Big Boss" theme in particular. I'd like to request most (if not all) of the themes from Metal Gear to be redone. However, I'd actually be willing to fund a competition to fuel more people into participating. The thing is, I've never held a contest before, & will need help on many levels: dates, site hosting/getting the word out, judging, rules, etc. I'd like to restrict it to just the first NES Metal Gear right now. I haven't played the MSX version, but I might include that as well (did it have different music?). I'd also like to restrict it to Rock/Metal, but I'll likely accept Orchestral arrangements & maybe some other genres. Of course, there would be a prize for the winner/winners. I'm thinking something around $200 (which will come out of my pocket). I'm not one to just throw ideas out prematurely, but I've seriously given this some thought. Unfortunately, I'll be leaving for deployment in less than a week. So hopefully I can get some input & start planning right now. Maybe I won't start the contest until I get back. Hopefully, this can turn into another CD project. Any interest?
  17. Does anyone know what year it was uploaded? The file Ramaniscence has it as 200. 0_o
  18. What? It's at least a 6.5. It's a good listen; yeah, not something I'd like to listen to over & over, but something that (when it comes up) I look forward to.
  19. I don't see what your point is - I download music I like, independent on the genre. And so what if a song goes into multiple categories? I don't see how it's lame.
  20. I searched the forums but not the FAQ - oops. :/ I don't see what the big deal is - it's not like it even has to be listed anywhere. What I'd like is for the remixers to be able to list their songs as whatever. It's not a close/open minded thing - it's just when I want to listen to Rock music, I'd like to have Sprinting Riffs or Twin Blood already on there.
  21. Am I the only one irritated by the default genre set to 'Game' ? I don't even consider 'Game' being a genre. Whenever I download a new remix, I end up changing it to whatever it fits into. Since most of the remixes fit into certain categories (mostly electronic/techno) why don't we do that?
  22. Yeah, I'm a mere 5'1'' & those Small plain white undershirts are too big for me. I'd request an XS if I could.
  23. I listen to this when I go running - at night (or in the early morning, whichever you consider it) because it just makes me run faster! What better way to get a rush than from a rush 'n kick arse game. Great remix, Goat! Keep doing what you do.
  24. I love this song! Sunsoft had some of the best music on the NES ever. One wouldn't know it's even from the NES hearing it. As for the remix, give Mellogear some slack; there's virtually no improving this track so taking on the task of arranging it is a bold step in itself. Props to him for making a techno arrangement, a good one at that - Journey To Silius was asking for one.
