  1. http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=106948 I was planning on getting a 360 anyway, but this seals the deal. I am a RAVENOUS Ace Combat fan.
  2. Since you have onboard audio, the interference is coming from the board itself. The separate soundcard fix works, but if you have a powerful graphics card next to or near the soundcard this can happen too.
  3. NEVER EVER have more than one virus protection program installed at one time. That is a very easy way to fuck up your windows installation. Also, McAfee is ass. Not as bad as Norton, but it is a system hog and it is known to not catch many things. I recommend NOD32. http://www.eset.com/ Fast, aware, and it has a small footprint. Also, it has painless daily updates. There is a trail activation crack floating around somewhere on the net as well.
  4. indeed I happen to have 700mhz, 800mhz, and 930mhz P3s sitting around me in various states of disrepair right now
  5. Uninstall Quicktime. Thats about the only way to make it stop doing this. As an alternative, you have Quicktime Alternative. http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm Incidentally, that also allows you to download streaming files such as HD trailers and whatnot.
  6. That should work, but if you want to wait for Vista go ahead.
  7. Exactly what intel was counting on when they started the whole project.
  8. Depends. What kind of CD is it exactly?
  9. There is good news and bad news. The good news is that you are not on Socket A as I had thought, but you are on Socket 754, which is one step up. The bad news is, socket 754 is just as dead. You do have possibilities though. You have the slowest of the Sempron line of processors for socket 754, so you could go for the fastest of those for really cheap (like less than 50 bux). http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Category=34&N=2010340343+1051707438&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=343&Description=Sempron&Ntk=all You could also go for an Athlon 64 3200+, which is just about the fastest you will find for socket 754 (and its still less that 50 dollars). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103035 It is impossible to truly recommend you anything unless I know what type of motherboard you have. Not everything is guaranteed to work with everything else. Really, the best thing for you to do is just buy a new motherboard. You cannot do anything else with socket 754 nowadays.
  10. Just get anything important off and do a wipe then reinstall if you can. I have found that with Windows, doing a complete reinstall is often faster than dicking around trying to fix shit, especially if its with spyware, viruses, or dlls being missing.
  11. XP does cache thumbnails somewhere, though I forget where.
  12. Architecture makes most of the difference these days. Any Athlon that is Socket 939 and up will kill a comparable (same L2 cache, close to same clockspeed) Pentium 4. Likewise, any Core 2 Duo will pretty much eat up a comparable Athlon. The number of cores you have makes absolutely no difference if the programs you run aren't multi threaded. For instance, Fireworks will run the same, if not faster on my Opteron 144 single core versus a dual core Athlon XP 3800. The Athlon is just using one core, so the faster single core Opteron wins. (Opty has 1024kb L2, while the 3800 has 512kb per core) The Pentium 4 is an abortion. They run waay too hot, and that is what actually slows their performance. Intel had plans for 5ghz and up P4s, but the dies would melt before they ever got there. The whole Netburst architecture was a bad idea from the get go, and it was clearly designed so marketing experts could say "LOK 4GHZ LOOL ITS FASTER BUY THIS!!" Intel eventually went back to the P3 design, and came up with the Core Duos. Then they refined that even more into the Core 2 Duos, which are absolutely excellent processors. Pretty much ya. You either have a Socket A Athlon (okay, upgradeable I do believe if you can find the right part and your mobo supports it), or a first gen P4. (horrible, actually worse than the fastest Pentium 3s)
  13. XL shirts are needed BRING ON THEM HOODIES
  14. Mains: Mario, Young Link I play best as Mario, but I can have fun with YL.
  15. Stuff like this is what first attracted me to OCR. bLiNd, FFMusic DJ, things like that. This stands up to some of the better trance mixes from them, and it is an extremely solid first submission. I humbly request more tracks from R3FORG3D.
  16. Interestingly enough, that music used to freak me out too. I really have no idea why. You never know about your remix, try posting it in the WIP forum first to guage peoples reactions.
  17. When they meetup they almost always play Melee. So it's a given I guess. Also, what we really should have is huge Brawl tournaments online. That'd be so awesome, I bet we could get over 100 people in it. Damn meetups never come to Portugal It would be incredible if say, OCR could have its own team and within that team you have different rankings based on skill level. Now another team, say the 4chan team, battled the OCR team, with each skill level batling the corresponding skill level on the other team. That would be gaming nirvanna.
  18. I downloaded this a while back off of SGX's website and I must say that it was indeed a wait before it came here. Awesome work as always SGX.
  19. Wait, whats going on here? I just finished my first WU, and Folding@Home said that it encountered a error and needed to close. When i brung it back up, it still shows that i have no WUs completed and im not listed on the website. What the hell? Edit: Nevermind. Im too damn impatient.
  20. Alright, I just joined the team. Is there anything i need to do in order to be listed on the team site? Edit: 2min56secs. per frame. I guess that 2.8Ghz Celeron D is paying for itself now.
