  1. Alright, I'm back. There's no game, so I assume Crabsmasher can't play. Anyone else up for it?
  2. Ooh, bad timing Crab, I'm just leaving. I shouldn't take much, maybe you'll still be here when I'm back.
  3. I've also dropped BK after a while. I've gone to disk 2, but I stopped for some reason and now I can't remember where to go or how the storyline is. I feel no reason to start it up again. Also, anyone willing to play ACWW right now, at this moment in time, please tell me.
  4. I'll be available to play whenever all night. It's 7pm EST now. And don't be hatin' on Sprung, rofl. Yeah right. It was one of those spantaneous buys in the early days of the DS when NOTHING good was out. So, uh... Is 7 pm night or not? I can play right now, my fcode is in a PM I sent you.
  5. Crab, my hunters will strike your weakpoint for massive damage. My friend code is 5111 7381 3110
  6. Advance Wars is pretty awesome, the best of the series. BTW, how is Lost in Blue? I was intriguied by it, but dropped when reviews came sour... what did you think of it? Anyway, when do you wanna play online Bigfoot? I've tried it once and it's pretty fun. (ACWW I mean)
  7. Roy would be the clone from Marth. But this is meaningless, it would only matter if the game was being developed for the DS where they'd have limited space. With the Wii disks being able to store more info, there's no need to streamline the character seleccion menu. I don't like cluttered menus though
  8. Not a bad idea. Except... Again, why have Dr.Mario and Mario when you could just select Mario, press Y and there's Dr.Mario, with all the pros and cons.
  9. If the purpose was to streamline the game, then yes, they could be combined into one character slot, and when you pressed a button, they'd change to the other, each with their individual techniques.
  10. You didn't get me. I didn't say they didn't have completly different fighting styles, but, from they flavour itself, the characters could be removed and be incorporated into their original forms as costumes. These costumes would retain the original abilities of the clones. So while the clones have an adimitidally different fighting style, this is not important enough to guarantee their presence in SSBB. So while the attacks are different, this won't really matter in Brawl since the mechanics will be redone anyway.
  11. I'm not sure, but maybe your's has something wrong. By the way, what's that game? I'm almost positive I know it...
  12. Well, maybe not on the Marth and Roy issue (although, they could be set apart and replaced by Eliwood), but you can just set the clones on to the different costumes. As someone already said here, mario's costume would be the regular ones, plus and extras Dr.Mario one.
  13. That would have been nice, and redeemed the game in a lot of ways because the biggest problem is the control. Talking with the Nintendo guy at the DS booth at E3, he said that the biggest suggestion for improvement in the game that he kept hearing from show-goers was a non-touch screen control input. Whether Nintendo implements that remains to be seen (I desperately hope they do), but the E3 build featured touch-screen control only. It's the same reason I didn't like Mario Hoops; all touch-screen control, no alternate way to play the game. D:
  14. I was looking forward to SFDS What's wrong with it? Almost all of it. First of all, the touch screen control destroys all of the twitchiness that Star Fox 64 was known for (and what made it so good). The control is overly sensitive and sometimes confused to the inputs you give it. Secondly, doing maneuvers like loops and u-turns now requires you to press a small icon ont he touch screen, taking out the skill of doing them, but also forcing you to stop controlling your arwing for however long it takes you to glance form the top screen to find the icon and press it. I should also mention that barrel rolling is now a thing of the past; it's been taken out as a maneuver. Lastly, the whole setup of the game is ludicrous. They've changed the mission/story based style of SF64 and turned SFDS into a pseudo-tactical RPG where you move each individual squadron's arwing around a map, positioning them to intercept enemies (which takes you into a battle sequence where you actually fly the damn ship). Each turn you're expected to manage the amount of fuel each arwing has, with the ultimate goal being to defeat the enemy's mothership. Levels have been reduced to such mundane goals as "fly through X number of rings" or "kill X number of enemies" for completion. If people thought Starfox Adventures was bad, they could at least ignore it because the gameplay was so different. Nintendo is taking the core of Star Fox 64 and removing everything that was good about it. When will Nintendo learn that they need to BUILD on SF64, not rape it to little tiny pieces of a game and shamelessly make a new game. Adventures had nice arwing missions. Assault had great Arwing missions. Now Command will have great "Free-Range Mode" missions. How bout, I dunno, put it all together huh? Also, you sure Command doesn't have an optional control scheme? It seems like a too bold a move for nintendo do make it touch screen only...
  15. All of the clone characters with similar themes could be combined as that only affects tournament play, which is a small minority of buyers. Plus, the game will be overhauled in Brawl, forcing tournament players to relearn it anyway, so Dr.Mario and Mario could be combined, as could Picachu and Pichu, Link and Young Link, Marth and Roy, and, to a certain extent, Fox and Falco. Only Ganondorf and Cpt.Falcon, being from two different games, would have a hard time being combined. Also, welcome MasterRaichu!
  16. h8 u I've been hoping that by some off chance sonic would be in one of these games.. BUT NOT SHADOW. If they did one of those stupid fucking "SONIC AND SHADOW TOGETHER AGAIN" things I'll fucking kill CE You'll kill me if they put Shadow in it? Shadow is the worst excuse for making a game more "dark" ever. He's all angsty. Urgh. The only way I'd want Sonic in the game were if there existed a 16-bit mode. Then he'd be cool. We don't want no 3D sonics.
  17. Full customization is the one thing I'd really like to see here. I mean, make player one have 4 lives, but the first 2 be played with fox and when he loses them, turn to link, which is 1.5 times bigger then the other characters, but is also weaker and if they both get down to 1 life, change the level from brinstar to brinstar dephts. You know, be able to actually create your own game modes.
  18. Ok... I suppose I concede then. While I would like the camera to FULLY rotate around the characters, I suppose that there's not really anything else I'd like to see concept-wise. You mean when you pause right? But then they'd have to make two sets of backgrounds...
  19. I agree with this statement wholeheartedly. I think it would be too much of a risk to try to change things up too much. Why fix what's not broken? Which is funny, because that kind of mentality is exactly what Nintendo is opposing with the Wii. Still, though, I say let the others games be "revolutionary". Don't screw around with SSB. Firstly, I agree in concept, but look at the changes between SSB and SSBM: a lot of cosmetic upgrades (duh, better graphics card), more characters, items, & stages, but also a lot of new ways to play - 3 different 1-player modes, event matches, multi-man melee, home-run derby, trophies, and all the special melee modes. IMO, THAT was part of what made SSBM so great; that, and also if you had played SSB, it was kind of like Othello ("A minute to learn, a lifetime to master") in that, you could pick up a controller and just start playing with ease, but it still took forever to get really good at it. I'm not saying reinvent the game here; I want to be able to plug in my Gamecube controller and start playing well with my best character as soon as I get the game. On the other hand though, I'm not buying SSB for my N64 because I have SSBM; I want SSBB to make SSBM obsolete like that. But the differences between Melee and the original aren't that big. While they added another B move and more modes, they didn't change the original concept by making it more air based, easier or slower. Melee is, in a way, and expansion of the original. And, in the same way, I want Brawl to be an expansion of Melee. Add more gameplay modes, more characters, stages and items. Add online and more customizable options. But don't make it easier or simpler. Leave the core gameplay, like Melee did with the original, and build on it.
  20. I hope not. I am really looking forward to SSBB, and although I agree that SSBM was quite near the pinnacle of evolution, I want to see something that DYNAMICALLY sets SSBB apart. IMO, if they completely overhaul it, it'll just end up worst. And by the looks of it, they're trying to make it simpler, slower and easier.
  21. YES Zelos gets knocked so much in favor of Kratos. But I actually liked Zelos more than Kratos, and his affection storyline and events are much more interesting. But if it's anyone, it'll probably be Lloyd. Or Cress from Phantasia. I'll tell you right now, that picture made my day, and I've only been awake five minutes. Listen, all this speculation is nice, and I couldn't agree more on how pleasant these concepts are. But even still. When ToS was released in Japan, it was a pretty big deal. There was even a specialized gamecube released alongside of the game. Though my point seems to contradict itself when you consider that a PS2 version was released later on over there. If the chances of Nintendo going to a third party depend on the weight of their collaboration, this idea might actually stand a chance. The same could be said of Capcom too, considering how they've worked on a few Zelda games. Otherwise, I'm not even sure if any of the execs have been alerted specifically to this possibility. It may even be that we feel an attachment to this game that the Japanese don't overall. In the end it only matters how they feel, since they're the one's creating the game over there. We only (almost always) get nothing more than a translated copy of what they end up with. It's just the bare bones of the truth. Why do you think that their Japanese SSBB site ended up with a "send in character ideas poll" that wasn't present on any other site? Most likely, they'll put in another MGS character for event purposes with Snake, and add a Castlevania one. And that'll be it for third party. I could go off speculating like hell on how they'd add Crash Bandicoot and Lara Croft, but it most likely won't happen, so I just keep expectations low. All I'm really hoping from this game is an expansion pack of Melee, with more maps, characters and items and the added online. Nothing much, Melee can't really evolve anymore.

  23. I've haven't been playing my DS a whole lot lately since there haven't been a whole lot of new games coming out. I've been playing my GCN the most actually, (improving my skill on SSBM, and doing a playthrough of OoT: Master Quest), but I will start playing my DS more once I get a Lite and Star Fox on July 31'st. Wait.. Starfox on the 31st...? That's beyond awesome. I'm gonna preorder.
  24. Man, I'm loving the DS right now. The regular one, although, I might get a brand new lite if mine breaks (I doubt it). I mean, I'm playing it more then anything else right now. Not only does the actual DS have awesome games, both right now and coming soon, but it has the added bonus of playing GBA games, which I love. It's awesome being able to stop playing Dawn of Sorrow and switch to Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Am I the only one playing the DS more then all the other stuff right now?
