Your ReMixer name: Monobrow Your real name: Katie Kinkel Name of game(s) arranged: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (SNES) Name of arrangement: Fresh from the Sewers Name of individual song(s) arranged: Sewer Surfin' So a couple of things. This song is named after the short-lived "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pies" which were "Fresh from the sewers, to you!"... Even as a kid I thought that tagline sounded... awesome! http://youtu.be/_pHrprTsMVc lol The only time I got to eat one of these mythical pies was on a family road trip, and I have to admit that I got kinda sick after making myself eating the entire thing, and I distinctly remember the taste, and how overloaded with sugar and goo (that's vanilla puddin' dude!) it was. But it didn't matter, because I got to eat a TMNT pie. In the late 80s to early 90s, like many kids my age, I had the mania. I had things like 'The Coming out of Their Shells Tour' tape from Pizza Hut, a Pizza Thrower, both NES games, cereal bowls, action figures, I'd seen/rented all TMNT shows (even some after school say no to drugs special w/ Michelangelo) & after much quarter borrowing, beat the original arcade game. Watching the original movie in the theater was life-changing. I felt an urge to play in storm drains and try to look down manholes. I begged for a skateboard. Pizza was my favorite food, neon green my favorite color. Ah my childhood! So anyway, when Kyle invited me to this project, I took one of the last unclaimed tracks, the ever-popular 'Sewer Surfin'... Then I started to hear everyone's WIPs... guitars everywhere, and guitarless me was intimidated. But I decided to just embrace what I knew and organ/synth/crazy it up everywhere, let loose, and have fun. And I did! Turtle Power! Also thanks to Pongball's midi @vgmusic for figuring out some of those crazy arpeggios. -------------

original decision Hey guys! This is a resub of a mix I subbed like two years ago and was rejected on account of poor percussion. This resub sounds a bit more like DnB should sound ReMixer name: TheGuitahHeroe Remix name: "Times Like These" Songs remixed: "Great Canyon", "Sky Tower" ( , )Game: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue Team So...after two years of originally submitting this to you guys, I recently decided to just completely re-do this one. Needless to say, the production is MUCH improved, the drums sound much better and sit better in the mix...oh yeah, and everything else sounds better too Here was my original submission description: "Alright so, got an inspiration to do a remix in a DnB style a la Pendulum. It originally was supposed to be just a mix of Great Canyon, but Sky Tower somehow found its way in there. You guys might remember one of my (really) early submissions called "To the Hill of the Ancients," a remix of Great Canyon; well, this one's a lot better than that. Hope you guys enjoy :D" Enjoy guys!

Link to the rejection thread: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=37668 (whoa that was a long time ago) Your ReMixer name: Ivan Hakštok Your userid: 43292 Name of game(s) arranged: Chrono Cross, Radical Dreamers Name of arrangement: Cruisin' (Live Edit) Name of individual song(s) arranged: Voyage - Home World, Le Tresor Interdit Link to the original soundtrack: Voyage - Home World: Le Tresor Interdit: Your comments about the mix: I'm long overdue with this one I submitted the original to this somewhere in the summer of 2011 and already resubmitted it once. Somewhere around March this year, I had the idea of re-doing the track with live instruments, so I recorded some guitars and bass and I liked the way it sounded. I added some audience noises for fun, I haven't seen that done in other OCR songs so I hope it's okay xD. I also replaced the lead synth with an accordion because the accordion is the most awesome instrument ever. Credits for the audience samples go to users makosan and acclivity from freesound.org

Alright, here's the info you need: ReMixer name: wauterboi Website: http://www.wauterboi.com Userid: 19578 Name of game arranged: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Name of arrangement: Chemical Plant Zone (Subtractive Dispatch Mix) Name of Individual Song arranged: Chemical Plant Zone So, yeah, this song is definitely a creative accident. Here's what happened: I had a song that is two years old. The percussion was awesome and everything else sucked, so after stripping the song of it's awful melodies and horribly explosive synth garbage, I was left with the drums. I went back to square one with a keyboard and the original beat, and the collective of notes that came after just happened to closely resemble Chemical Plant Zone. I decided from that point on that I was remixing Sonic, and a few synths later it sounded great. I'm a dolt when it comes to describing my own music, but if I had to say anything about it, I'd say that it takes some of the style from the original track and throws it in a blender full of gritty synthwork, a slower tempo, and even some of the original synths from the game. I mean, they're literally the original synths - they were extracted from the game and played by yours truly. And I guess you could say it's slightly dubsteppy without being vomit-inducing or "super filthy heavy nastiness". ---------------

I get my own picture yessssssssss! -
Hello friends. This is a Remix of Mirror's Edge "Still Alive" song. I decided to take a progressive trance route with this one, taking inspiration from the stuff Hybrid, Sasha and others were doing in the late 90s/early 00s. The focus on the genre is mostly on keeping a really cool ambience with synths that never remain static and cool breakbeats, so I think I got close to the mark here. This was done for the People's Remix Competition #242, and if this gets posted I wish you guys could plug it somehow because this competition has been running for years now and it's one of the main reasons I get to mix new songs, and kudos to Bundeslang for keeping it running all this time. As always, made in Reason, and the synths are of my own making enjoy! ---------------

Games Arranged - Super Castlevania IV, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Arrangement Name - Oblivium Sempiternum Daemonis (Lords of Shadow Arrangement) Songs Arranged - (Primary) Super Castlevania IV : Konami Logo, Vampire Killer, Beginning, Bloody Tears, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Various (main motif recurs in many songs) however I was mostly referencing from the song 'The Warg' Casltevania: Lords of Shadow 2: The Titan (E3 trailer song - https://soundcloud.com/oscararaujo/oscar-araujo-castlevania-lords) Game info - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Composer - Oscar Araujo Systems - Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC Soundtrack Link - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Comments: Been a long time hasn't it? Although I contributed to some OCReMix albums I never submitted those songs because I just wasn't that confident in them. It's been nearly 4 years since I've properly remixed something like this. For a while now I've just focused on writing original music when I've had the time and the odd project like Shnabubula's SNESology. This arrangement of Castlevania has been on my mind ever since Lords of Shadow was released and I still listen to its music constantly. What would some of the classic Castlevania songs sound like in Oscar Araujo's orchestral style? I tried to interpret these songs in a way that they are still recognizable but also seamlessly feel like they could have been in the game.

Idea for Next MAGFest: OCR Brunchfest (this time with SPACE!)
DragonAvenger replied to Level 99's topic in General Discussion
The only issues I can think of that may arise are the logistics of travel plus possibilities of lots of luggage from check-out (which we already deal with, but may be compounded by more people coming) and how to deal with people who have Sunday flights and will have those travel/luggage logistics. I do think both will be solveable and that its a great idea! -

Anyway, I been sort of spellbound by this song and the events that unfold in Secret of Mana for its rather brief one-time appearance. The song got my usual flavor of metalization but I also experimented with various instrumentation and the trumpet particularly gave me an idea for an underlying Ennio Morricone vibe. Sort of a "Man with no name" touch. Other than that, it's a pretty straight forward adaptation. Has a few ups and downs, drops and breaks, and I'm quite pleased with it but obviously I need outside perspectives or I might get a bit too comfortable, you know? c: ----------------------

Console/Platform: GBC OST Composer: ...Konami? You guys might have more info than me on this. Source: Shadi, Lv1 Duel --- In case these links get deleted, the MP3's are also attached in the submission email. Composed in FL Studio. Remix: Attached in the email, MP3 VBR1. This mix is a project mix for the Game Boy 25th Anniversary ReMix Album Project. Comments: "Middle-Eastern remix coming your way! This remix was heavily influenced by a lot of the Yu-Gi-Oh I watched as a kid. To this day, I still like the classic anime, and much more than the later ones. They just don't compare to the storyline genius of the classics. i.e. Bakura stored a portion of his soul into a Millennium Puzzle piece he stole back in the intro-to-Marik episode (WAY long ago, Marik being the second main villain in a line of five), and he actually referenced that action and made use of it as the main plot twist in the final season, acting as the final main villain! Now there's something you just don't see anymore. At first, I just thought about doing the "Level 1 Duel" source, but that just couldn't work it out in my mind without the Shadi Theme! After about 28 hours total of remix work, this bad boy was born. Big thanks to chimpazilla for supplying the awesome drum samples and the Omnisphere Turkish Dulcimer samples! Oh yeah, and one more interesting thing: Every single non-percussive instrument aside from the dulcimer and zourna was either zircon's Cinematic Synthetic Drums library or Zebra---and a large portion of the instruments that were from Zebra were made from scratch just for this remix (bass, flute, sitar, wind, some of the leads, etc.)! So here it is in honor of your site and Koji Kondo. Despite the heavy "Star Wars" influence, the Death Mountain/Skull Woods theme has always been one of my favorites from the game. Since the melody was suggesting "epic" to me, I figured I'd trick this up a bit with my own epic orchestral movie-trailer style spin. Jakesnke17 Jacob Diaz http://djjd.bandcamp.com 28914 Sonic The Hedgehog 2 "Biohazard" "Chemical Plant Zone" For as long as I can remember, I've loved this tune. After hearing a wide range of remixers remix this particular source, I guess I was convinced I had to make my own reinterpretation of it. So, thanks to bLiNd, A_Rival, and PrototypeRaptor...this song was born. I started it almost two years ago, and I guess I just never really knew how to finish it. So thanks to the advice from everybody, really appreciate it. Also, this was released on Bandcamp, as part of a 4 track EP. As you might have guessed, the name of the EP is..."Biohazard EP". Here's the link: http://djjd.bandcamp.com/album/biohazard-ep Thanks. ----------------

Unfortunately, school is really killer and they expect two years of residency from us now (10 years of schooling post-high school), so even trying to start this remix was difficult. So, this time it is a legitimate remix of a single song (mostly). I've been trying to learn how to master with more of a modern tone, since I feel I'm losing the loudness war front. Fruity Loops's demo songs were really great for learning, and I was glad to see a few of OCRemix's members on it. Hopefully this piece is up to par in terms of quality and volume. If you notice, I have attached 2 songs, one is with voices and without. The voices add dramatic effect, but I feel they are not entirely necessary if you all feel that they draw away from the song. To get a good background of the game, the character Xion is the tragic hero of the story, and Roxas is her good friend. Thanks!
