  1. Now, they had to be made somehow, right? Otherwise no one would have samples to rip with SPCtool and what not. Now...How do I do this? I've tried looking online but all I can find is how to rip sounds. How do I create sounds? I mostly want to know because I want to make a 16bit style game but don't want to use samples from other games, feels like cheating/don't wanna get in trouble for any reason. So does anyone have any insight into this? thanks guys. Shinny
  2. 2148-8188-7632 currently only OoT which I'm going to say L-targeting has not been an issue for me. only once was I locking on to something I really didn't want to (I kept locking onto zelda in a flame ring while battling a couple stalfos). But I do have a Nyko powerpak+ so that makes the 3DS thicker and easier to press the buttons. I would honestly suggest getting one for that and the battery life
  3. This is amazing! though is it just me or does it sound like the vocals are in japanese half the time? not bad but just interesting haha
  4. :') brings a tear to mai eye. I need to fix some of the sounds because they are really out of tune! Thank you guys!
  5. After looking around everywhere for this soundfont I noticed 2 things: 1 - It was nowhere to be found! 2 - So many people wanted one! SO I took the liberty of figuring out how to make a sound font and went to work. This is what came out! I tried to include just about everything I could discern as being different because that got hard to tell after awhile but I think I just got about everything. I got just about as many sfx as I do instruments so there is a lot of fun and creativity to be had with this soundfont. (on a side note, percussion is on around middle c.) I hope you guys enjoy this as I know I most definitely will! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15370615/SuperMetroid.sf2 new link btw, screw megaupload haha ok bai! -Brian
  6. You should have just gone to GameStop. Simple.
  7. Especially since in TP you can distract the shit out of ganondorf with your fishing pole lol. Best thing ever Yeah the graphics are amazing and a bit more than I expected from 3DS so soon. I would be so far in but I had to work. Still kind of bitter about the exclusion of a bundle in the US but I'm having fun nonetheless. I agree with the circle pad on not being so precise as an analogue stick but it's still great. Still can't wait for skyward sword now (and the hopes of MM being remade also but it won't happen lololol)
  8. What tp had missing the most was charm. Thats my biggest complaint. The game was taking itself way to serious. majora's mask was dark but it still had a great kind of humor and charm that I loved. wind WAker is probably my favorite because evything about it is whimsical and light hearted. I loved outset island prollythe most out of any Zelda town. It looks like to me that they are going to try and charm us again in Skyward Sword and every bit of me is excited to play. Edit: and I can't wait tio pick up my preorder of OoT 3D tomorrow :3
  9. Hey guys! I just wanna say to try and keep the small talk down in here, I know mods aren't too keen on it. I don't wanna seem like a jerk or like I'm squashing your fun but I also don't want to get this closed down. So yeah, sorry guys and good luck, sound pretty awesome. I'm going to finalize my story tomorrow and also start issuing deadlines! So keep your eyes pealed. I'm also going to start doing some heavy recruiting once I have everything solid! So yeah. Exchange info or something so you can really get the time to to talk to eachother on an instant message service or something. It really would help to benefit the discussion and flow of creativity anyway. -Brian
  10. if i had record i would be 100% propellerhead. i used fruity loops for years and i could only make techno stuff. with reason i can make anything.though, i might get something in the future to use vsti with...i mean really...c'mon propellerhead. but none–the-less i love it.
  11. This track started on tuesday with the JHcompo and as time went on I formed it into one of the tracks I want to include in my portfolio as I start making steps into making music for video games (which I know is the aspiration for many a people on this site). This is the 4th one I've made but it's the most polished of them all so far, or at least I believe so. In making the melody I pulled some influence for Metroid games and i think it paid off pretty well. So What I'm looking to find out is: a. what could I do to make this track as close to perfect as possible and b. could you see this in a video game. If not, why? thank you very much! http://soundcloud.com/shinnymetal/technologicalterror
  12. updated the first one http://tindeck.com/listen/cnoj . fixed the harsh highs and made the beat beefier and messed with the choirs
  13. Starting to work on some new tracks. Trying out some very new styles for myself with amazing luck as it seems. The first one is one I started for the JH compo today but then decided to scrap most of the lead melody and expanded my idea (after listening to much metroid music) http://tindeck.com/listen/cnoj This could go in a variety of different places. Part of me isn't sure how game compatible it is, maybe a change in instrumentation but, ya know, who knows. Next is a title screen idea I had. I listened to a lot of daft punk and portal 2 music for inspiration and it kind of shows. there are a few things I haven't fixed yet but they are kind of obvious. Overall it's very evident I've been poking my brain around using distortion in cool ways. The first song "hyper1" has almost every instrument distorted in one way or another. (even the choir is distorted to make it thin and static-y) I would love some great critique because I really am trying to make a solid portfolio to try and get jobs. Thank you very much
  14. That really is Katt... I am worried that those sigs are a bit too big, I think they'll do unless darkesword yells at us.
  15. well you're all good! I'm procrastinating fixing the kinks in the project. Since I'm starting to see more and more interest I'm going to try and tackle this tomorrow and so everything is clear and set. Thanks guys for being patient and once I get everything down, if I see a good number of people I'm going to start assigning WIP dates so stay tuned for all of that! thanks everyone!
  16. Thanks! and trust me..I know. but good samples = money. I plan on getting better ones in the future but this'll have to do for now. I can always do some swapping Also, I took out the bell sound. it's much better: http://tindeck.com/listen/mxqs
  17. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE However I am firm on this telling a story! Instead of every track being meticulously picked planned to be in a certain order I decided that there will be a handful of important tracks that will be the cornerstones of to the story, which I'll indicate with italics. I would like those to be a particular style. I will make notes next to each of those tracks and also place them where they need to go. My vision is to see this story expand to the next 2 games of the series and I think it could be pretty awesome. One thing I think would be really cool is to have a "theme" to the story that'll be reoccurring either just in the beginning of the two projects or if people want to incorporated it into the cornerstones that'd be cool too (or maybe in some of the others...who knows). After thinking and thinking I decided to use the theme from Breath of Fire IV Endings and Beginnings I am very open to discussion concerning the way the story unfolds. So post in here if you have any ideas on the story direction! (I may also have to maybe tweak breath of fire II's story once I finish the game.) Check first post to see track details!
  18. I would totally jump on this but I'm going to pass for the moment. I'm working on A portfolio to try and break into the video game industry and the also the project so if you still need someone by then (haha which is doubtful) I'd like to.
  19. So to start off I'm making a dungeon or forest area kind of track. It leans more towards a forest to me but I could see how it could be used other wise. I'm wanting to know if I'm going in the write track with instrument selection and arrangement for a rpg of sorts ForestRPG: http://tindeck.com/listen/hiru NEW SONG! http://tindeck.com/listen/mxqs
  20. the quality of how it sounds is related to the fact that they did actually record a track and put it in in post. They simply recorded it playing through a amp on a camera mic so the sound quality is shit. I'm sure if you put in a game into your nes and recorded what it sounded like with a camera and played it back that it would sound very similar to this. I think it's going to sound just fine!
  21. it's 50 dollars now with a pledge. official price hasn't been specified yet itl ooks like. I high believe it'll be between 75-100 (with it most likely being closer to 100)
  22. yessss!~ I'm getting one for my birthday! I was telling my friend how I wanted to get this and was probably just going to go ahead and pay for the pledge but then he was like, "uhm yeah...I know what it is..I'm getting it for you" and I was like
