  1. So... Not really 3DS related, but still part of the family. Anyone grabbing Pokemon Black 2/White 2? I haven't gotten in the series since Diamond/Pearl and I think it might be time for me to step back in, plus I hear there's some kind of 3DS functionality? Can anyone give me impressions?
  2. I replaced my original 3DS with an XL and got a new friend code and got rid of the original. The one I just posted is the one good code. Sorry about the confusion. Anyway add me!
  3. As far as I can see it's unavailable...
  4. Oh man, you don't know me bro. I can be pretty damn lazy. It isn't a huge deal breaker for me, but at least on my 3DS, I'd love to not have to worry about extra cargo in my pocket, but I'll getting myself a nice bag soon anyway, so I guess that won't be an issue.
  5. Yeah I said "screw it" and just decided to start buying my stuff again. Not like I mind giving Nintendo and devs more money. Grabbed Kirby's Adventure a few days ago and man do I really wish I had a chance to play it when it first released. Such good times. It's essentially Nintendo's version of Mega Man, Anyway, I forgot to provide my 3DS XL friend code so we can get some Mario Kart and Kid Icarus and such going. It's 1332 - 9045 - 4269, so go ahead and cross out the old one. Edit- FINALLY finished adding everyone on the front page. Add me, people!
  6. Lol, I mean to say dud, but the suggestion still fits!
  7. There's gotta be some way they can get around that, though. I mean they want to keep their retail relationships in mind, and I'm totally cool with and I support that since I like having my box copies, but changing carts on my 3DS, with portability as its main selling point, is a huge pain in the ass. Granted it won't be that big an issue on an immobile console, but still... Also yeah, I don't know if it's just because my sensor bar has taken more than a few good whacks, there's wireless interference, or I got a dud Wiimote+, but I had problems syncing the thing with my Wii and my wireless sensor bar for PC on a consistent basis. Seriously hope they deal with that for the Wii U. Also I just realized that this system will be perfect for roommates.
  8. Console publishers, for God's sake just let me buy a game at retail, then let me install the bloody thing on an HDD without needing the CD in the drive. Seriously Microsoft, you were SO CLOSE with this!
  9. We don't need to go that far down the rabbit hole on bashing people, guys. Salluz is objectively wrong, but his perception(wrong as it may be) is pretty heavy among many "gamers", and Nintendo isn't really free from blame. They'll innovate and do some cool stuff with their tech(see almost every Nintendo developed and/or published game on the Wii), but third parties for whatever reason don't follow suit. The other problem is that in this generation, Microsoft and Sony(but mostly MS)were clearly the leaders of gamer mindshare, regardless of how well the Wii sold, and this is because of 2 key elements(though one much bigger than the other): a competent online gaming solution and a way to easily play with your friends(both in the case of MS), and more powerful hardware. While it's true that "grafix don't make teh games", hardware power can be used for things like better A.I., lighting, physics, even system stuff that just make games more immersive. easy to get into, and fun. And let's be real here. You weren't going to get games like Bioshock or Assassin's Creed on the Wii. OK sure, many of you guys might not care about that series or other "hardcore" stuff, but plenty of gamers do, and Nintendo DID objectively fail to get those guys with the relatively weaker hardware and third-party support on the Wii. The Nintendo Wii U has the potential, and it definitely seems poised to retake their position as king of the hardcore hill(or at least be a major player), but Nintendo DOES have an uphill battle, although nowhere as dire as some vocal minority might make it out to be, to win back that marketshare.
  10. Two of them were internally developed by Nintendo but the rest were published by them(as I mentioned), which shows that they're looking for creative new ins wherever they can find 'em. Monolith Soft is also owned by Nintendo, and they're confirmed to be working on another new IP for the Wii U.
  11. Also Sin and Punishment 2, bringing back Kid Icarus, originally publishing Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower(which unfortunately never made it here), Wii Sports, and the list can go on.
  12. They aren't bad, and I think that, stylistically, most of 'em could probably fit into Street Fighter IV's general theme. Well, save Dudley's which is pretty much a dud(pun very much intended). Did they straight up remove the original tracks from the game? If so, I can see why some fans would be in an uproar. If you can choose between them, then I don't see why people would be raging about it.
  13. I personally have no experience in the matter, but if you're looking for arcades with plenty of fighters, you might wanna give shoryuken.com or eventhubs.com a browse. People posting in the forums might be able to help you out there, since I know that more than a few have at least claimed to have gone to Japan(or live there) and should have a good idea of where to find some. Assuming you haven't tried that already of course.
  14. Just to reiterate, the specs on this thing are more than capable; a rumored Radeon HD 67xx series card optimized for the Wii U, 2GB of RAM with 1 dedicated to system process with the other GB dedicated to games, 8 or 32GB on board flash storage with the ability to upgrade to up to 3TB(or more really) via additional flash card expansions or an external HDD. Full backwards compatibility with almost if not all Wii peripherals/controllers, a pretty competent solution for "traditional" gaming with the very ergonomic 360-I mean pro controller, and a friggin' tablet controller with its own internal tech that can have games streamed directly to it. Then of course there's the gamut of classic titles from previous Nintendo systems that could easily be released on their already expansive virtual console network, in addition to what appears to be a genuine interest in really creating an effective online gaming space through Miiverse and whatnot. Then there's TVii. I don't think I need to say much about this, but it seems like a pretty sweet deal. With the way people are consuming content nowadays, I really don't think the Wii U will be missing that Bluray or DVD functionality. In terms of what the system can do right out of the box, it certainly is no slouch, and the rumor I'm hearing is that in total there are about 3 million of these things(apparently nearly the entire stock) already preordered, so right out of the gate it's going to have a pretty giant install base; much higher than the PSVita in it's first year. Naturally however, we're going to have to see what types of innovative and compelling software devs will create for the system, and if they will at all given the undeniable fact that the PS4 and Durango are somewhere on the horizon, which may be more enticing(of course how higher dev costs are more enticing is beyond me). But allegedly this system can already run circles around the current gen's hardware via specs alone, so we'll see.
  15. At the time I had played the game, I was already used to using pointing devices for different types of presentations in school, so it didn't take me long to acclimate to Okami on the Wii. Since I'm a lefty, I can't even imagine the hell it would have been to play it on the PS2. Playing it on the Wii was probably the best thing I could do.
  16. ...Wut? Okami Wii was probably the best way to play the game thus far.
  17. So anyone know if Nintendo plans to create a solution to link any 3DS eshop purchases to an account like your Club Nintendo ID or Nintendo Network or anything like that? Don't know if I want to grab any more stuff unless I have an answer to that just yet.
  18. So Monster Hunter 4 has a release window. So far it's just Japan, but I can't imagine it not making it stateside towards the end of next year. This version DOES have online multiplayer, so now I'm torn between grabbing 3 Ultimate(which only has local 3DS play) and just waiting for this. Dammit! I need more people to play anything locally around here!
  19. Who the fuck has ever cared about anything Kotaku says? Seriously, who?
  20. Don't really care much about Nazi zombies, but after what I've read about it, I'm actually pretty interested in Black Ops. II
  21. Looking at that thing makes me want to cry. It's extremely reminiscent of the PS2 Slim unlike the previous PS3 revision, and yet still the system doesn't have anywhere near as close a library as great as the PS2. Also at this point, I think it's pretty hard to walk into a store or browse an online retailer that isn't out of stock of at least the deluxe Wii U model, so I think it's safe to say that most of if not all of this years Wii U stock is going to sell regardless of new system refreshes by either Sony or Microsoft
  22. As far as I know, it doesn't. This is probably much less of a problem for the Japanese, but for the USofA, it's still a vexing omission. Especially in my case where even where I used to live, most of my friends were mostly of the "too cool for Nintendo" variant and wouldn't own a Nintendo system anyway.
