Fighting gamers are a detriment to the genre as a whole.

In terms of fighters, it's all about what fans of the genre are accustomed to. When Valve sees that people are using exploits in their games that they never intended/imagined, and are thus making the game unfair or unbalanced, they patch it. Fighting games don't have this tradition. Instead, they just wait for the next game release. How many things are going to be glitchy in Super Street Fighter IV that are going to be addressed in a 300kb patch as opposed to another full game release? What about Brawl? I'm sure as hell they didn't intend for there to be infinite chain grabs either. That kind of shit is like watching a floating jockey in L4D2. It's broken code and needs to be fixed.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is out next week on the Wii. Anyone excited about this? The fact that they have the game making subtle changes based on answers you give to determine what puts you on edge sounds pretty interesting.

But mostly rage since finding decent parties is a pain in the arse...

When I reach the end of the cave in Cosmo Canyon and watch the scene between Red XIII and his father, I always get choked up. Also you're not a man if you didn't cry during the ending of Crisis Core.

Now there's something that doesn't happen on the 360 version.

Everything about this game just feels bigger, better, and much more badass than Left 4 Dead. I can't find anything other than the still retarded survivor A.I. to bitch about. From the weapon to the level design, this game is probably the best of this year hands down. I must say one thing though. From what it feels like, L4D2 is to L4D like Super Street Fighter IV is to SFIV, that is, this is the game for those serious about a good, challenging time. I can't even think about playing this game with anyone who I don't have a total sense of synergy with. Casual L4D fans need not apply here. Worth every goddamn penny spent.

On a further note, Hard Rain is awesome. We just had to deal with more than 10 witches... Crazy.

AHHH!! This happened to me twice in the middle of a horde! I'm in total control of the situation, completely avoiding the witch, then BAM a jockey grabs hold of me, my team doesn't react fast enough, and then I'm pulled right into the witch. ARGH!!

So did the game get harder this time around, or do I just suck?

I prioritize speed and agility in fighters, which is why I usually pick the females. I don't have to prove any weird sense of masculinity.

So Gamestop has a trade in deal that if you trade in two eligible games(PS3, 360, Wii), you can grab a new game like Dragon Age, Halo:ODST, Brutal Legend, or Left 4 Dead 2 for 20 bucks. I shall be joining in on the zombie killing post haste.

If it's a single-player thing, I'll most likely play as a girl, especially in fighters or games with different mechanics/pathways for each character(Resident Evil and several other games come to mind). Overall I just find a lot of female characters more interesting than generic "coming of age" boy or "tough" dude. Plus I'm of the idea that if I'm going to be staring at something for a few hours on end, I'd like it to be something nice-looking. I guess the only exception to this rule would be Bill in Left 4 Dead. I always play Bill. When I'm playing an MMO though, I see it as a representation of myself, so I always go as a dude.

Well, Reggie DID bet that it would outsell the 360 version of MW2(which is kind of a lame handicap), but I think it has a chance to outsell all SKUs of MW2 as well personally.

Next time he dies, leave him in his bubble or take some good ol' fashioned revenge, which is the beauty of this game. I'll probably be playing this game solo unless I can get my "hur I'll only play games with Call and of Duty in the same sentence" to play. I doubt any of my immediate family members here could get passed the "press B to shoot a fireball" mechanic...

I don't think anyone's saying they're not gonna buy it or that they're not excited about it(although after this kind of wait, I really couldn't care less about the release date anymore). It just seems lazy/tacky. If the consensus is to keep the jpop song out 'cause it's shitty, then do that. If you really think that you need to pander to someone's ethnocentrism, well I wouldn't be too happy about that, but go ahead. And as it was pointed out before, the song was written specifically for the game, whereas this is just an insert. It's no different from your standard popcorn n' special effects movie soundtrack. This is just a pretty lame move and I expected a bit more from SE is all. I don't really see how this is going to attract any new players since the demographic Leona Lewis caters to probably isn't prone to play video games in the first place. Changing the song isn't going to automatically make it any less of a "shitty JRPG". I'm just waiting for KB to pop in here and laugh in my face.

I have to wonder whether the composer made the decision, or if was PR and marketing, because I can't really see Hamauzu making that kind of call.

This: The song by itself isn't terrible, it just feels excessively lazy and tacked on to market to people in a way that says "Dur! We speak English and therefore anything that doesn't speak English like us is shit." Same thing that happens with a lot of Spanish music. Also sorry Darksword...

And this here is what PC gamers don't understand in their consumer lust: It's not a question of can a person afford the rig as much as there isn't enough of a justification to throw down about eight Benjamins on a whim. It's the same reason people were appalled at the $500 and $600 price tag when the PS3 launched. Can he afford it? Maybe, but it's all about priorities. Ok we can now go back to talking about Left 4 Dead 2 AKA, my latest obsession.
