  1. Ok, so I'm not sure if this is actually true or not, but I've been hearing about a certain problem with the 360 version(other than bad encoding, and taking in-game PS3 footage and just turning it into an AVI movie for the 360 version) while cruising through the aether. Apparently, there's musings about a disc crash on disc 3. Anyone know anything about this supposed problem? I'll be searching for it now, but post away.
  2. I think the reason why Wily 1/2 of Mega Man 2 is so popular is because it has a lot going on in it. There's harmony and multiple layers to it, as opposed to the 1 sole melodic line in most of the others. It gets you pumped and is more memorable the way I see it.
  3. Oh wait, I actually meant Wily 2. Wily 1 ain't that bad though.
  4. I actually prefer Wily 1 from Mega Man 3 actually.
  5. So I've been reading the thread(and since I haven't bought the game yet, scrolling down furiously when I see anything order related ), and one thing that stuck with me was what I saw as a generally universal panning of the music. Being that this seemed strange to me, especially given the great music in the series, I figured I'd hit youtube and give a listen to it, and here is my story. While I can definitely see where you guys are coming from(mostly minor scale, very different, etc.), I actually like the MM10 OST. It has a very impressionist sort of feel to it and has different and dare I say modern comp. techniques used here and there from what I can tell. I especially like what they did to the intro for Pump Man's theme, and while I'm not partial to what I saw as the B section in Blade Man's theme, I liked the overall piece. I think that as a MM OST, it definitely stands out to me as the most unique of the original series' music. It made me think of a particular theme or made me feel a certain type of emotion that I'd attribute to a given stage. And kiss my ass, Nitro Man's theme is total boss.
  6. This is beyond fucking epic. Oh my god I want this.
  7. Preordered and paid for. Just have to walk into the store and pick it up next Tuesday.
  8. That is one ugly motherfucker.
  9. Says on the site that it's rumored to be 50% more than FFXII's, so somewhere around $72 million.
  10. Considering that Final Fantasy XII was in development from 2003(I think) and released in 2006, I wonder how much it would cost to make it today using the same tech? These development budgets are bloody insane though. Shit is getting out of hand.
  11. The best thing I can think of is not to play SSBB online at all, especially if you're trying to be competitive. The netcode for the game is just astoundingly bad, although if you still want to give it a go, you should get away from the WiFi and get a wired LAN adapter for the Wii. Opening and forwarding some ports on your router might help a bit, but probably not enough for what you want.
  12. So we just got a big dose of information out of Nintendo's media summit. Super Mario Galaxy 2 release in May. Metroid Other M release in June Sin & Punishment 2 release somewhere in between Monster Hunter 3 release in April with the classic controller pro bundle, Wii-speak enabled, and no online fee for the NA release.
  13. Well let's look at all the perceived cons. -No towns(who gives a fuck? Towns get annoying) -Linear as all hell(name a game other than hack and net hack that aren't) -full heal after battle and battle retries(Is this a bad thing? Oh wait, I forgot people liked being frustrated in games) And as far as a lot of reviewers are concerned(IE, the ones who played longer than 15 hours), the game opens up not unlike the way FFVII opened up after Midgar, yet on a much larger scale, and that this world is filled with metric shittons of bonus missions and other things to do. At least the game isn't lying to you about being a "non-linear" game experience like certain big western RPG developers would have you believe about their games. Now on to the pros: -a much more realized version of FFX-2's battle system and level of character customization. -faster paced battles in which you can actually die easily and go all out in allow for much more strategic and thus active play -soundtrack is great and a breath of fresh air -relatively decent voice acting with proper lip syncing -pacing is supposedly great/no 20 minute cutscenes -Story with a large focus on characterization Yeah, I think this is gonna be a great game.
  14. Well I thought I'd bump this thread being that we have XVII days(yes corny) before the game's launch, and what better way to bump a thread in a music forum by providing a few snippets of the OST courtesy of youtube? For starters, this is probably my favorite track that I've heard thus far So what do you guys think? I think it's a pretty strong departure from the norm, and yet it seems like the natural direction that the series sound would take. I think Hamauzu did a great job with the OST. What's interesting is the greater use of vocals within tracks. Very cool.
  15. That just reminded me that I have to go through the next difficulty levels on NGII. I ain't no bitch.
  16. Also, when a guy is being cheap, you shouldn't see it as him being a douche as much as your game just sucking. It's up to you to counter what your opponent does.
  17. Back in the 90's when you knew you were getting something good when you saw this logo. The 90's were just great for gaming in general.
  18. Ibuki Ibuki Ibuki!!! Of course I thought this was leaked ages ago, but this makes me quite happy.
  19. I think I can go back to pretty much any Zelda game and love 'em every time, especially the Game Boy ones. There's just something about 'em.
  20. I guess I may as well just ask it here. Has anyone had any experience buying anything off Glyde?
  21. I think the reason most of us don't like the game is because it kind of sucks. The BEAT system? Totally pointless. Why would I want to train Edge as a long distance or magic user if all of his abilities are geared towards full frontal attacking? Why would I want to use the N BEAT if it'll remove all my learned abilities that I've been relying on for the past 10 hours? Also, learning about only 5 different abilities for 40 levels is hardly fun. The music? Well that's what happens when you have one composer working on a shitton of games at once. Over the top Sci-Fi is fine, but this is so blatantly hammy that it's impossible to take anything seriously, and the whole "friendship" shtick is really, REALLY getting old. Environments are pretty, but it's honestly hardly Sci-Fi with all the traipsing around medieval settings.
  22. Video games are boring, guys.
  23. A 360, a PS2, and a Wii. Had a DS Lite and a PSP for awhile. Funny thing is that my older systems never got sold, they just disappear somehow. As for genres, I'll play most games, although while it makes me sound like some kind of xenophobe, I've noticed that I don't like playing a lot of Western-developed games. I guess I just don't like how Western gaming culture has evolved or something.
