  1. And really, it looks like Samuel Jackson has a blast playing the parts he does. Even if he knows the movie's going to be bad, I think he tries hard just to have fun with what he does.
  2. Pretty much this sums it up: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/3/19/green-blackboards-and-other-anomalies/
  3. The Spanish flair is the most distinct, as Strike said. I would go with that, but if you end up going otherwise, I would suggest doing something slow, but mysterious. It has to sound patient, like it's biding its time. After all, that is part of what makes a good rogue.
  4. I wish I could've been there to see that. ...No wait, scratch that. If I were there, that sucker would've been me. XD
  5. I pretty much only trust OCR Regulars, ZUZ members, and a few of my real life friends on Expert runs myself. Big Giant Circles, myself, and a couple of his friends did an Expert No Mercy which was brutal once. Fun, but royally painful. I'm not too great on Expert myself, but I'm willing to try it now and then with the right people.
  6. My favorite is probably Dead Air. I very much like the stages in that level and it's very well designed for the most part. The only areas I have problems with are the fire escape at the very beginning of Part 2 (the Director has a terrible tendency of spawning Tanks on it, usually at the top) and the finale is rather bland comparatively. The other one my friends and I constantly play is Death Toll, which has the better qualities of the more open Blood Harvest while having some areas that are cramped like No Mercy. It's a very good balance, the stages are fun, and the finale's pretty decent. No Mercy's good too, as it's a more intense experience than most of the rest of them and I really like Urban/Building sections in general, I just prefer not doing Versus there because it's just painfully brutal in most places.
  7. I'm hoping you can still spam melee, but not under certain circumstances. Using melee a lot in campaign mode is fine, it just needs a tweak for Versus in a lot of situations. Though personally, I'm hoping for a new campaign more than anything else. Considering Co-Op is how I normally play the game, I don't care quite as much for Versus tweaks. Though that said, there do need to be more Versus stages. Lots more. If that were the case I'd probably like the mode a lot more. I'm not a huge fan of Blood Harvest in general and although No Mercy is fun, it's way too brutal on Versus. Then again, maybe it's just because I usually end up on the opposite team of Garian and Bahamut. XD
  8. My three big issues would be I would recommend making the bat wider in general for the Scout, either make the Dynamite more pronounced for Demoman or change it entirely to a Stickybomb, and give the Soldier a rocket for his symbol. The shovel is awesome as a weapon, but it's not what most people recognize him for.
  9. I'm sorry to hear about what happened, Vivi. Hope she recovers quickly, and give her the best regards from everyone here at OCR. As for me, I gave out a myriad of things for the holidays to my friends like shirts or card games. Though the big news is my parents got me a 360 for Christmas. Good times followed, and continue to do so.
  10. That's a cute picture, Binjovi. Though I'm more inclined to agree with 2-tan in that it's cold as hell. I DON'T LIKE COLD. >< Though seriously, you did great work with the shading and the expressions in particular. 4-tan's mischievous grin makes me smile, and I'm wondering who she's going to pick off with that snowball. Thanks for sharing this with us, and have a happy holiday!
  11. And a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Northern Virginia!
  12. Congrats, my fellow zombie hunter! I heard the news awhile back, but I wanted to say congratulations in your thread. Hope everything goes well for you, my friend! And don't think this is an excuse not to play L4D or TF2 with your friends and community-mates anymore... >>
  13. Really, snarkers like Yahtzee are best suited for solo work, unless they actually find a straight man who provides a perfect wall to bounce acerbic comments from. This is pretty much the case here as well. There are already too many "Geeks Talk About Video Games and Geek Culture" videos online as it is, and when they try to add humor into it, it just turns even more derivative. Hell, the only reason I even like Zero Punctuation is that Yahtzee does his reviews alone and his delivery makes up for his derivative concept in reviewing. Alone he has a sense of comedic timing and wit that is just detracted from when you start throwing other people into the equation. When he's like this, he's much funnier than most of his Gaming Culture peers. He should just stick with that.
  14. Hey, whoa! Congratulations you two! I'm really happy for you both! This is great news. I'm glad the two of you are happy together, and I sincerely wish you the best!
  15. Next time shout louder. It's hard to hear you when you're strangled. Anyway, I agree. Let's do that again soon. On a side note, is anyone else having a bugger-all time trying to get a server working? It's not working at all for me or my friends and my achievements are down. Anyone else have these issues?
  16. I can vouch for that. The one well timed tongue-lash tied up BGC after we had leapt from the cliff into the cornfield. BGC was the last to jump and we couldn't get back up. That was the beginning of the end. XD
  17. Yeah, I pretty much feel the same way. I mean, how are you supposed to even play it on an iPhone or iPod Touch, anyway? Seems like it'd be really tough to play. I wouldn't mind being proven wrong, but....
  18. Good times with the eight-man versus tonight. Both teams played well! I'm looking forward to more soon. Good runnin' with you all! But man, I really have to practice as the Infected. The only one I'm anywhere decent with is the Boomer.
  19. Aw, I missed an OCR throwdown? Damn. If you guys need another player next time, message me on Steam. I'd be happy to join in.
  20. Big congratulations to the both of you! May your times be happy and long!
  21. I'll admit I've frustration-quit TF2 a few times. Never because I felt I got gypped or because somebody made me mad, but often when things just get so unbalanced the game stops being fun. A good example is on random clan servers when all the members of a clan congregate on one team and just pound the opposition into the ground continually. It doesn't happen much on OCR, thankfully. It does sometimes, but hey, whatever. I'm frequently guilty of joining the team with the most OCR people on it, so I'm in no place to judge. XD Anyway, I stick to L4D almost exclusively with friends and OCR people. I don't like playing online with strangers, never have, excepting my days as a pilot in X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter. I prefer to play with people I know or at the very least people I can keep in contact with, so Frustration-Quitting in L4D has been limited to server SNAFUs.
  22. If there was a Metal Gear Solid Cellphone Game, I demand it doing exactly what it says above. Otherwise it is inadequate. XD So if the real game does it? Good. If not? Laaaaaaaaaame.
  23. The problem with that is the bat does half damage anyway. It swings twice as fast as the other melee weapons, so it's the same DPS, but... anyway, capping and intel running for auto-crits? Too specific. What are you supposed to do with it on Payload or if you're on the Defending team in Dustbowl? I like the idea of an HP detector and an assault rifle. The difficulty is balancing the latter. If it was effective at middle range, scouts might dominate the slower classes such as a non-Nastacha Heavy and Soldier by utilizing their superior speed even at range to pump them full of bullets. Part of the Scattergun's balance comes from its low effective range. The Scout can still run circles around the Soldiers and Heavies, but they have to get close to really be devastating, giving the Soldier and Heavy a chance to counter with their own, but less effective, shotguns. So... I dunno. The assault rifle would have to do middling damage at best to really not break the slower classes.
  24. Louisville Slugger, with a satisfying wooden crack, of course. If it's anything else, I'll be extremely disappointed. Also, Happy Birthday, Dhsu.
