  1. Glad to see I'm not the only one who found that game to be a lot of fun, if completely brainless. I have an Atari 2600, a Sega Genesis, an N64, a GCN, a PS2, a PS1, and a Wii. Also have a Game Gear, a GBC, a GBASP, a DS, and a PSP. Kinda wish I had a Super Nintendo, but... that's what the VC is for.
  2. I would like to say I disagree with this list, but there's not a single song on there I don't agree with or like, for that matter. I was impressed to see DuckTales make it on there, and somewhat surprised to see Grabbag. Good times all around.
  3. Throwing my two cents in the issue, I share a viewpoint similar to DJP. I feel that Sony's making the right decision in recalling the game. LBP's goal was not to make a statement about anything religious, but rather create a globally fun, inoffensive experience. In this case, removing something that's offensive to a group of players is actually a prudent, intelligent move.
  4. Let it be known I did not like the original source tune. The Hidden Palace track in Sonic 2 felt very out of place, I felt. But this? This takes a tune that I felt wasn't executed well and turns it into a thought-provoking, somber, atmospheric experience that is virtually unheard of for a Sonic game. Beautiful, full sound and a constant melancholy pervade the tune. It's something different, and it's done very well. The use of the source material itself was faithful, you expanded on it greatly, and it came out as something special. You have my condolences for the deaths of your grandfathers. I understand the experience is rough, but this work can serve and celebrate their memories. I'm sure they'd be proud of that.
  5. I support Chadly's idea. I'd like to just play with OCR people from time to time. It tends to be more fun, and I like playing with people I somewhat know. To me, it makes the games that much more fun. Also, it's like the days when Bahamut's crit rockets would home in on my face. Every time. XD And why aren't you already playing Disgaea, Chadly? Get on it! *Laughs*
  6. I took it too. ...I want to read that paper when he's done with it, because I'm curious as to what the academic world might have to say about OC ReMix.
  7. Right now Retribution is way overpowered for Paladins. Someone brought up the point that these are essentially level 80 moves? No, they're not. I mean, if they were Level 80 moves they'd be trainable at 80. They're 51 point talents, which means if anything, they're level 60 moves on the ground. Still ridiculously powered, though. I'm not worried though, everything will be buffed out when Wrath comes out. But anyway, I fugging love the changes to Protection Warriors. VERY GOOD TIMES considering that's my main and my favorite spec. I LIKE HAVING ATTACK POWER NOW!
  8. One hit kills are generally the worst. To err is human, after all. It's not really fair to brutally punish a player for making a simple mistake. It works okay in some games, like Alien Hominid (even if it is technically a shoot-'em-up) or I Wanna Be The Guy which are really more of a celebrations of the genre, but for serious platformers? It spells doom for the fun factor, and considering for a long time platformers were a dime a dozen, fun factor is everything to one of those games.
  9. This week's ZP: S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky The ending was gold, I thought. Overall entertaining.
  10. Secret of Mana? Oh, man. Gonna have a game to think about getting on the console now.
  11. I fully support this line of thought. This sounds like a bloody brilliant bonus mode for multiplayer, combining the feel of StarCraft with the teamwork of Team Fortress 2 and the Battlefield games. I would *definitely* be willing to pay for this as an additional B.Net feature. Out of pure curiosity, how would vehicles work? When produced would they pop into the battlefield motionless until someone got in them, or would a player directly spawn as one, or would they be under the direct control of the general player?
  12. I am apprehensive about this. While I like the idea of increasing the length of the campaigns and deepening the story, making three separate games for it seems ludicrous to me, especially if you have to pay full price ($30-50) for all three titles individually. If the the price for an individual campaign was about $20, I might be more willing to accept this as a good plan. I for one loved the campaign missions and right now this feels like a kick in the balls to me. Granted, pricing details have not been released, but it's going to be a real bullshit-fest if I have to pay upwards of $100 to play this story to its entirety. Don't get any bright ideas about WarCraft IV, Blizzard! ><
  13. I wonder what possessed him to pick up the Wii version when the word on the street says it's better on the 360 and PS3 anyway? I know he's in the business of not giving a damn what other people say, but still. I'm glad he acknowledges his own short-sightedness on this one, but I really would've preferred him rating a version of the game that didn't make him pull his hair out in frustration. Yes, his frustration's funny, but I actually feel bad for him on this case. The Wii Force Unleashed wasn't what the game was meant to be in the first place, so it feels like he's reviewing a proxy game rather than the real deal. Which is what I would've liked to see, truthfully. But I admit, his humor was still sharp and entertaining, so it wasn't a loss overall.
  14. Well, maybe for you, Pyrion. XD I think it'd take longer for anyone who doesn't main (and is good with) the Pyro. XD
  15. Even the Nice Work Guy, huh? Good. I approve, and look forward to it.
  16. The whole game is a hilarious exercise in masochism, I find. It's doable, but damn. Though I don't take the game that seriously and laugh off my deaths because that's what the game's trying to do. I just don't view dying in a game like that a sign of weakness. Though, for note, I've only gotten to the fourth or fifth screen on the upper route. XD
  17. Yes, I can tell the Axtinguisher is one of your favorites. I've been on the receiving end of it quite a bit. XD Good times, though. And I usually laugh because of it because for some reason I find it hilarious.
  18. This is why I pretty much play it at all. I didn't like Counter-Strike for the hyper-competitive level it's often played on. It's not really my style. I prefer games that are chaotic in nature. Half the time, I don't even give a damn if I win, so long as I have a blast trying.
  19. Ah, okay. That makes sense, then. I see where you're coming from now, definitely.
  20. Demoman does require some degree of skill to play in its entirety, especially to be really good with the primary Grenade Launcher. But almost any idiot can lay down a couple of stickies and get some easy kills. Yes, the most effective demomen need to practice with stickies to be absurdly good with them, but in my opinion Demoman isn't really all that difficult to do well with if you just spam the Stickies. Obviously, Sticky-Spammers will not necessarily achieve the highest level of play, but they can be more irritating than Soldiers, I find. Plus, Soldiers tend to be powerful for a number of reasons. Yes, it does have a low learning curve overall, but as the *primary* offensive class, they're supposed to be reasonably strong. The other two offensive classes are Scout and Pyro, but those roles are niche at best. You need someone that's functional at all around combat and that's what the Soldier is. At the same time, the Soldier's vulnerable in a lot of ways. Slow reloads, slow run speed, and their projectiles are slow. I think the Soldier's pretty balanced for what it's supposed to be: the vanilla shock trooper. And I respectfully disagree with Bleck that the Soldier is the easy path. Truthfully, I find it easier to play as a Pyro, though that's a matter of personal preference at this point. I will agree that the skill curve to be a decent Soldier is gentler than say, being a good Sniper or especially being a good Spy. But I say, just because you play Soldier doesn't automatically make you a noob, especially after seeing people like Bahamut or Pyrion wipe the floor with people in a respectable fashion.
  21. Those are actually the "Recommended" system requirements according to the Info Thread for the game, not necessarily (And hopefully not) the minimum. Which is good, because my computer doesn't have a 3 gig processor.
  22. It could be the manner in which you spy check, Bleck. If you're running around like a crazed lunatic with your flamethrower constantly going, that's more memorable than if you methodically check your teammates. Either way, keep spy checking, man. Bloody spies, destroying everything our engineers create....
  23. Aside from the handful of DS games that actually use the GBA slot for *anything*, I don't see the removal as that big a deal. GBA Development petered out long ago and there hasn't been a big name release on the Advance for quite awhile. Nintendo's point is if you own GBA games you presumably have the means already to *play them* to begin with. It's not the end of the world that this backward compatibility got cut. Considering GBA games are out of development, this is a logical, if unfortunate, step forward. As it is, it saves space, weight, production costs, and other stuff to allow more modern features to be added into the handheld. Granted, some of this is all shit the PSP had done from pretty much the beginning, so Nintendo feels a little late to the ballgame. Personally, I find a lot of the multimedia features to be unnecessary. DSWare sounds interesting enough, however. I'm not gonna get one, though. Not until there's enough justification to fork out the money for an upgrade when my DSLite (my third DS as it is, considering my first two wore out from use) is still working fine.
