  1. Damn, hope it stays at 99$ to upgrade, at least a little while.. just bought my wood for a patio lol
  2. 1) Blocks 2) Rack Extensions & Refills plugins (effects and instruments), any instruments with a MIDI port. 3) I don't understand what you mean.
  3. There's a small one there for 2000$ https://www.roli.com/pre-order-a-seaboard-grand-studio/ LOOKS FUN !
  4. I've used FL, Reason and Reaper the most among other DAWs and they all felt differant and led to differant music. If I had a Mac, I'd go with Logic for many reasons. One of them is what theshaggyfreak mentioned. I wrote 98% of my stuff as "tabs" for like 12 years, and would rather write scores with the standard notation. When writing tabs (in Guitar Pro), the standard notation appears above the tab but you can't write the other way around. ;(
  5. So much of a replay value. I played it in 94 and played it exactly 20 years later (at the time of the OP) and that was pure coincidence/Wasn't aware of the 20 years. Super Metroid is ... just wow. Took me 9 hours hahah
  6. I thought my computer was bugged or something. Is it ? Where are the headphones ?
  7. Hey, I don't even listen to my favourite bands all the time so yeah, I don't know all the albums on this site very well. I'd like to know which ones are the most dynamics ? I know for a fact that Maverick Rising is quite varied and not much slow paced, and that some others are more slow and ambiant.. I'm not looking for a "which is one better" here, just some kind of sorting or the styles Thanks!!
  8. Yeah, I'm just so damn busy, so many things going on at the same time for now That's why an assistant director would be more than welcome
  9. This is Double Dragon, wake up guys People should have gone crazy already Can we have a few WIPs this summer ?
  10. Yep the flyer is all over my facebook, however I work + am in Chicoutimi. Esti d'marde, I always miss all the good stuff. Anyway, liked the page on fb and will buy the album upon release + pass the word. Hope to see you guys play eventually
  11. Sick stuff man! Le Antoine Baril c'est lui de Symbolic, au drums ? edit : fuckin dumb me I cannot read. Didn't expect to find an ex-Augury band member here heheh Will buy the whole thing, glad to know you let that cochonerie of a loudness war aside.
  12. But that's a Junkware deal overpriced POS, saddly it sells
  13. It's a damn great album, among my favourites of all time, and not saying this with a biased opinion. However I'm curious as to why you say it's bad for long distance running ? Also, what do you think of sustaining 6 mph for an hour ?
  14. Are you very small or are the keys of your piano ultra giant ?? Keys look 2 inches wide.
  15. Is it slow ? From what I could see today, the good runners did the 3.1 miles in about ±30 minutes. It took me 45, but I had some low back pain. It slow but if they keep it for 60 minutes it's quite impressive from my perspective.
  16. Keep em coming. I'm gonna run 5Km tomorrow (that is a little more than 3 miles) as the final test for my gym class.
  17. Well I don't like the pianobar type of jazz nor do I like stuff like Miles Davis (I expect y'all to throw rocks at me now lol) but love old stuff, especially those mofos I discovered with Fallout 3 Anyway it's hard to explain, but yeah I'm not a very open-minded type of meloman to begin with. This thread is pure lust.
  18. Totally. I'm not very good with styles/categories, but I guess I'm more of a fusion guy ? But I hate it when it gets too confusing or nowhere, it needs to groove. By restaurant music I meant, more boring that elevator. I'm not really a bosa nova fan, if that helps. You know, the kind of music that you hear whenyou call a helpdesk and they put you on hold ? Like this : I find that irritating, depressing, sad.ectogemia: man, awesome bands.. Pat Metheny & Chick Corea are not my type though, but wow, Cassiopea vs T-Square that was EPIC! Mezzoforte. I love that kind of music, it always reminds me of Sonic and/or Greg Howe. Al Di Meola is one of my favourite as well. Anyway, will have many things to listen to while doing maths tonight Would those be jazz : Gentle Giant, Frank Zappa, Orphic Oxtra ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=328UvOKmhM8
  19. I find jazz extremly boring on it's own. Like restaurant music ? Fuck no haha But infused with some other things, oh yes. I love those guys : Al Di Meola http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoAE352CjHE Gentle Hearts (Greg Howe, Dennis Chambers, Tetsuo Sakurai) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-pODYJF4vw Planet X (Derek Sherinian, Tony MacAlpine, Virgil Donati, Kevin Freeby)
  20. So I made a template with Miroslav.. For the violins all I had was either 23 or 11 so I took both as the panning isn't exactly the same. Then Violas, cellos, basses. I left them panned as it is already in Miroslav and have 8 variations in my template (full, stacc, pizz, legato, etc..) for each. I did something quick with the keyboard, it's just one variation per section only but to test the panning and the sound. https://db.tt/8FAPvZBW Now, what's the relation between the variations and the sections in general ? In the clip above I have something like the 23 violins playing trem, 11 violins stacc, violas pizz, cello short bow, basses long bow Template looks like this : Only played 5 minutes with it so far but I can see how pleasing it is.. will complete the template with other orchestral elements.
  21. ectogemia you rock! And thanks Dusk, Modus and Wiesty. Modus, I know that I would tend to run on the beat, but with that Polar watch that gives my my heart rate, I can see that I reach a constant peak at some point. I'll experiment haha Brandon, a workout-themed OCR album would be awesome.
  22. Thank you so much man. Don't be shy to share any of yours. I hope Wes will chime in, he's the boss according to this chart : LEVEL 1: VERY INACTIVE: 80-100 steps per minute = 2 mph (30 minute mile) LEVEL 2: LIGHTLY ACTIVE: 120 steps per minute = 3 mph (20 minute mile) LEVEL 3: MODERATELY ACTIVE: 130 steps per minute = 3.5 mph (17-18 minute mile) LEVEL 4: ACTIVE: 140 steps per minute = 4 mph (15 minute mile) LEVEL 5: VERY ACTIVE: 150 steps per minute = 4.3 mph (14 minute mile) LEVEL 6: EXCEPTIONALLY ACTIVE: 160 steps per minute = 4.6 mph (13 minute mile) LEVEL 7: ATHLETE: 170 steps per minute = 5 mph (12 minute mile) LEVEL 8: ATHLETE : 180 steps per minute = 5.5 mph (11 minute mile) LEVEL 9: ATHLETE: 190 steps per minute = 6.0 mph (9-10 minute mile)
  23. Hey, in my quest to become Mister Universe, I stopped McDonalds and started running in january. It feels great. However, I need some music to match two things... and a compromise is needed : 1) my heart rate 2) my jog speed My max heart rate should probably be the limit not to exceed for music (187 BPM according to my monitor) and I'm pretty sure the speed is about or something 160 BPM (sorry, didn't test). Soooooooo... need music between 160 and 185 BPM. Music with a steady beat please (rock/metal/techno). As you can see, I did follow my 2014 resolution this time. It's worth it.
  24. Why rush it ? Filler tracks or the thought of em sadden me. Especially now that albums are soo short.. Not all songs are gonna be received equal, but to say filler track I'm like, where's your soul. What can you be thinking while doing that lol (where's the inspiration). What I have been thinking lately is Physical VS Digital copies.. how does that affect your wallet, etc. I feel like digital is the way to go 100%
