  1. Well, of course, Mario, Zelda. Finding parts for those shouldn't be too hard... I'm a Baritone/Bass in chorus, just to let everyone know. I'm not the best, but it's not too hard to make "doo" and "daa", is it? If it's easier, I'll just bring my controller, and games. If others have Wiis, I'd rather not bring mine. As for the mix, I was thinking Route 12, 24, maybe some others, in a patriotic civil-war type march. I've got ideas for the snare drum. Some brass, some woodwinds.
  2. Hey, I'm going, but I'm not sleeping over, and don't forget I have a wii, too! About things to do while we're over, I finally had an idea for a remix to work on. I tutor for 30 m.-1h wouldn't be too bad, if he/she doesn't mind pokemon. *cough*. Anyone think of coming up with a list we can start practicing for the a cappella thing? And what about our stuff? Is it coming with us all day? Cause I'd rather not walk around New York all day with $400 of much sought-after electronics on my back...
  3. Yes, that is a good idea. Speaking of which, can I assume that an overnight only applies to either people that care enough to stay, or people that don't want to catch a ride out of the city early Friday morning? I wouldn't want to miss out on anything just to get home... Which brings up another question. Is there any limit on the leaving/staying time? Should everyone not sleeping over leave by a certain time?
  4. True? 'Course it's true! Andyy's your freakin' avatar! I'm tired of hearing that Grit needs mixing. I want to hear one of black hole's guys. Or girls. Lash would be good...
  5. Jeez, thats it? I have Tetris Mario Kart Advance Wars Metroid Prime: Hunters Mario 64DS Starfox and some others, which for some reason I can't remember... Oh, well Thing is, my DS is broken. The L and R buttons are unresponsive, besides the fact that I took it apart after my top screen wasn't showing anything. I have all the parts, and I've put it back together about 3 times so far. I didn't really care enough to bother with the warranty, and I'm gonna get a lite anyway soon enough...
  6. That was so great! Booming and operatic it wasn't. The voice was spot-on, though. If Sleepy Emp ever shows up again, I suppose it would sound much better with the actual music. It just needs to be more... booming and operatic. I can assume you kept it low because you didn't want to be heard, correct? That should be a proper excuse, yes. Kanjika, I think the private forums were removed due to lack of activity. That's my guess, but if you can put up a better one, go ahead. mlo sent me a re-do of the front page, which I'll be putting up soon. Nothing changes much, except Koelsch, Realpolitik, and Adhesive_Boy were removed, and everything else was a bit refined. That's basically it.
  7. Hey, it worked. Mods rock, apparently. Beyotch.
  8. Second Dude, so many times, Advance wars, and Golden Sun. Both could use remixes, bad. Great music, both great games.
  9. Geoffrey, you're going to the NYC meetup, right? You think we could get some discussion on this in there? Just a thought.
  10. Well, here's a thought. It's not my ideal, but what if we made a little Mario "?" box, with an open lid. In a big place like Grand Central Station, tips might put a big dent in something like food costs. We'd just split it. But like I said, spirit of the season, and I don't think I'd feel right to just take money like that. And one other thing. Why do we have three music stores (Sam Ash, Manny's, Guitar Center) on our list? I'm not a big musician, with my Baritone horn and Accordion, but do three different stores really offer that much variety? I think getting some time in for another spot to visit would be better. But that's just me. And believe, me, I'm full of ideas right now. This thread ain't dyin' no time soon.
  11. Er... maybe I should have phrased it more like, "Something gamers would get, something most everyone would get, and something that would sound cool either way". Still, if we would, we have only about 20 days to practice, and I know for some people without too much free time, getting it down asap would be best. Anyone else have suggestions? Then again, we dont have to do it. ...Then again, Might be a good idea to go with it, no?
  12. I gots me an idea. One that will make everyone happy, hopefully. Myself included. Is there any way you can just make a recording of the first verse or so? Not only would it give us an idea of your skill, but it would totally, TOTALLY kick ass.
  13. Well, it isn't dance anyway. The thing is, till Sleepy Emp makes a statement, we dont even know if lyrics are applicable. If you've heard the mix, lyrics don't currently fit very well. But like I said, almost everybody wants to hear them.
  14. We could always go with the classics. I thought of a few, non-obvious ones. The Goron theme from Zelda 64, the SMB underwater theme, Maybe even Brinstar. That'd kick some real ass right there.
  15. I thought of something "fun" we might want to try, if we have half an hour or so to spare. I had an all-female A Capella group come to my school, and now we have about three different A Capella groups starting up, including me leading a video-game themed one And, yes, I have seen that Nintendo A Capella video, so don't bring it up. What if, for, like I said, half an hour, maybe, less maybe more, we set up shop on a corner somewhere, and sand mario, zelda, or something? I remember when I went to Nintendo World's "Mario DDR" tournament lost in the second round!, me and about three or four of my surrounding spectators started singing along with one of the Dr. Mario themes. Fun, it was. Try, no? Thoughts?
  16. Hey, Kenny, if that is your real name..., you said you could do Baritone voices? If you're familiar with it, we do have a track for the great mighty poo, from Conkers Bad Fur Day. That is, if you have no problem singing a song based on obscene fecal jokes. You see, I sent a PM to sleepy Emp to contact you, but I don't know where that went... Otherwise, Ill think about adding it. I've never played the series, so I have to check it out. No prob, bud.
  17. Yeah, well, what are you gonna do? I just don't like the feeling of being a "kid", at least in my parents eyes. I should at least say, I can tell the difference between (somewhat) regular people, and serial rapists. Well, I hope I can, the situation's never come up before... EDIT: By the way, I keep forgetting to ask, whats the deal with overnight plans?
  18. Update, put me down as maybe bringing a friend. It's going to be the only way I'm allowed to go. My mother thinks your all druggies, drunks, and cult members. I understand she's looking out for my safety, but I'm fucking old enough to make my own decisions, and quite honestly, she should just step off. No offense meant to you guys.
  19. Kings Park. It's part of Smithtown. Smithtown, part of Suffolk. Suffolk, part of this wonderful tropical island we call home.
  20. Bah, we need DBZ. Although I can't help the feeling I'm not going to be able to go. Everyone knows it, when parents make that last-minute decision, and change their minds? Oh, well. Best of luck to myself, I suppose.
  21. Doesn't sound too hard, and at least I'll have some holiday money to spend damn, I need a job bad. So, I'll bring my Wii if I can, and that would include Red Steel and Excite Truck. Unfortunately, only 1 controller, but I also have a classic. If we do go to MoMA, or any museum for that matter, do you know if they have student discounts? That could be a big help, some places will even let you in for free. Now, I'm still a maybe, but if anyone else from LI plans on taking the train, I could probably, maybe meet up? At least it's someone to talk to on the way there...
  22. Well, yeah then, put me in as a maybe. As emmbarasing as it is, I will note that I need parental consent for this. Good thing about high school, winter break. So, if I can, how much cash should I bring? How about my Wii? Anything else?
  23. I might go, but, well this is akward,, but, uh, what.... exactly, is the average age, you know, for these things? I think most of you guys are in college, but...
  24. A huge two thumbs up if you guys manage to pull that off.
