Alright, so this is my first attempt at combining tranceish elements with orchestral stuff. This song is supposed to be somewhat of an RPG style song. Bought it first day. Funny story kind of. I went to EB and I remembered that something new was supposed to come out, so I ask the guy "Whats supposed to be coming out for the wii soon" and he is like "Super paper mario" so I was just like "I'll take it!". Spur of the moment purchase XD. Anyway, I loved it. Beat it in like 3 days (like 10 hours I think). Great game I must say. digibutter.nerrr!!

(If this is the wrong thread to put this in, sorry XD) Ok, so I started a new song, and my friend gave me this great idea. First off, my song ended up being somewhat of a boss music type song, and my friend has this awesome idea to make it sound sort of like an ffx CG scene or something. So what I need is a girl to say some generic stuff like "You can do it!" "Dont Give Up!" "Your almost there", or something like that. And some other stuff that I'll come up with later. yea the m compressor is the only thing I know how to side chain... which doesnt really do much.. just punches the sound your compressor is attached to.

hmm interesting idea. I should try it. But.. I'm a little confused about where I should side chain this audio signal in to. I know there is side chain inputs on the compressor, but I know thats not the only place you can side chain stuff in reason. So uhh.. slight explanation? XD

Ugh ok.. so it didnt get in this time because the mastering sucked. So I did some stuff today, and I think it should be much MUCH better right now. (its so stupid because it was a simple little fix and now it sounds so much cleaner and not over compressed ) Anyways, somebody give me some feedback! Thanks. Question: How do I save my song to mp3? Answer: You dont! hehe, but yea you can only export to wav in reason. Then use some other program to export to mp3.

heh, thanks for the comments. yea.. I really need to practice more with Acid. It could have been alot better if I had some experience with acid. Maybe I'll do anothe remix, once I actually have some time on my hands. Who knows.

ok, so this is version 2. I worked some more on it, and did some drum stuff. Ugh.. I really really suck at mastering with acid, so I think I'm going to have to use some weird unconventional methods to end up mastering everything in reason.. its gonna be a little complicated but I think I can do it. how bout both. So, patches youve made with reasons synths and such, or patches that youve made outside of reason which youve made reason compatable (which is what I think you are talking about)

oh, and by refill I mean, custom presets for all the synths. Like sub patches, comb patches etc. Then once we have enough, we should make a big OCR Refill PAck or something

I think we should have a thread where we post all of our own refills that we have made to share with other people. I know there is that other thread about refill sites, but thats other people who have made them. I think we should have a thread for the people that make them and post in here. I'll post a few in the next day or so. Everybody else, start posting away! (Note: If you guys want, I can make a section on my website where I can feature all of the refills. When you post yours just post, reason version made in, what it is a refill for, and you name I guess)

so, do you think you could figure out how to make some sort of trancechorder type sound? The closes thing I can think of is the Transcorder Preset on the sytrus. (usuaslly comes in FL I think?) I would really like something like this in reason, and I havent really had time to try and figure it out.

Ok, so I originally wanted to incorporate pieces of each song, but I found out that all 4 songs dont incorporate very smoothly (as far as I could see) So this is basically a remix of Haven and Coactive, Plus I will be ading a bunch of my own original stuff in there as well. So here is what I have so far... mastering sucks because I suck at using Acid, which most of this was made in. Alright, well I decided to go back to my old tranceish style. I miss it lol. Anyways I tried a variety of new things here. I found an absolutely awesome way to master my tracks now. Basically I turns down all of my master volumes to about 70% (after I am done making the song and want to master), then I have a quiet mix but it sounds really good because there is no clipping or anything like that. Then I add a LOUDENER thingy to the top, which boosts the sound but doesnt clip, so I end up with a good loud song with the awesome mastering of a quiet song . Seemed to work for this song. Also, I did some kind of EQ effect in there somewhere, and a few other things. I also think I am getting better at Taka'ish piano runs. ugh.. well as you may have notice I havent posted anything for the longest time... well ever actually . Ive tried again and again and I just cant really get anything good out of the song I was trying to remix. In the end, I dont think I'll be able to contribute to this. I'm really sorry for telling you so late. But ive just gotten really busy and I cant seem to get any good ideas. good luck on the project though!
