  1. See I really dont understand how people think its 3 minutes total. I mean, when I first read it, that didnt even come in to thought. All I thought was "3 minutes per match, cool". Its definitely not 3 MINUTES TOTAL FOREVER OH NOES!!!... seriously.. I really dont get how people would think its 3 minutes total. In other news, this game looks like its going to be very amazing.
  2. sounds pretty cool. If you want to remix, just for the sake of remixing go ahead . If I really like it, I will definitely add it to my album. It would also help if you told me the name of the song you want to remix lol, I have a good deal of songs with piano in it.
  3. actually, if I may I'd like to say a few things about the mix and the source tune that it seems like you may have missed. I'm just gonna go through the whole thing. 0 - :49 is pretty muched based on TaQ's Stromatolite intro, but this isnt from traces . :49 - 1:20 were based on the main Traces piano Melody. Right after that, starting at 1:20, that synth line that plays in the background is based off that synth line at :52 of the traces mp3 I gave you guys. Though, since you didnt notice, maybe the arrangement of that line was a little too liberal? So technically 1:20 to 3:02 is technically from the source... but the more I listen to it, the more I realize that synth line was changed too much . I think it was more like the original in my first version. Also in the middle slow part, the first piano part was based on the main piano melody again, I pretty much placed the original in there and added notes around it. Thought I might have changed that too much as well. lol I guess there was alot more I thought I had kept close to the source tune. heh you could check, but the more I think about it, I think you may be right. hehe oh well
  4. heh, well I was a little upset when I wrote that, but I've calmed down since then. Yes I realize what you said was pretty much on the ball. I am pretty dissapointed, and Im definitely not going to continue this for OCR, but I will submit more stuff once I am able to get to it. I guess I should be flattered that you thought more of it was arranged from traces since I guess that means I captured the source theme/material very well. I am really happy that you guys enjoy the song, and that it is a very solid piece in itself. Again, I was really hoping to get it in to OCR, since there arent very many DDR Remixes. To be completely honest, I first started wanting to contribute here because, well frankly people get alot of acknowledgement if they get a good remix up on this site, and I really dont think some of my stuff gets as much recognition as it probably should. I kinda feel very overlooked in the music comunity and I'm trying really hard to get recognized in some way . Anyways, thanks for helping me with this mix in particular, it helped me learn alot. The problem with this one now, is that I just have no more interest in it, and dont feel like redoing it again . So yea, thanks to the OCR Judges and community, and I look forward to making some new stuff in the future.
  5. UGH!!! It got rejected again, this time because there is only like 33% arranged stuff, and the rest is my own... .. ugh .. I feel like giving up.
  6. Well to be honest, my first few subissions werent really of OCRemix quality. I started work on a pretty sweet Megaman 4 Remix (for the intro music)a while ago for the mm4 project, but I couldnt figure out how to continue it so its been sitting for a while. Very recently, I touched it up a bit, but I kinda want to do a whole rework before I post it again. Stupid school taking up so much time
  7. Alright, so for the past little while I have been hard at work on my new album. This album, Act II, is a follow up to my first album, Act I (This album can be downloaded for free from my website http://www.djsbx.com) For this album, I have had a really big mellow influence. Alot of the songs have been mellow/breakbeatish, and I'm finding that my work has been improving dramatically. For info and updates on the progress of the songs, you can check out http://www.djsbx.com/act2.php I'll probably update here as well. Anyways, I have a few demo's that I would like to share with you guys. The demo's have not been mastered, I am waiting untill I finish all of my concepts and themes before I go back and master/tweek/finalize everything. I really hope you enjoy Memories of The Past Demo - DJ SymBiotiX Whoah! - DJ SymBiotiX Memories of the Past is a somewhat mellow trance/breakbeatish song. So far, I think this is my favorite. Whoah! is an "interesting" 5/4 song. It has some happy hardcore / house influences. I would really love to have some comments/oppinions on these demo's. I'll be sure to post any new demo's as they continue to develop. ;d Edit January 18,2008: New Demo Splash Beats! (Paradise Mix) [Demo] - DJ SymBiotiX
  8. oh right.. lol I suck. I think I was having an argument with my friend a little while ago and he thought ZSSamus was a regular chosen character lol I guess I thought it wasnt known yet XD
  9. I knew it!!! .... well kinda. Since we heard of zero suit samus I always thought something would happen to samus that would make her suit fall off, and I was right, its the final smash. I wonder if zero suit will be a playable character from the start or not
  10. for some reason I cant download this
  11. Listening. I dont like how the beginning part is panned all the way to the left lol I dunno, too much in one ear. I'd like to hear some more before I comment any further. Work on this one!!
  12. Taking a listen right now. I'm not exactly familiar with the tune.. I love the series and played this game a bunch, but its been a while and for some reason its not coming to me . Sounds a little familiar but yea. Anyways it sounds pretty rad so far. I'm not entirely digging that plucky thing. I think it needs something.. it just sounds weird to me, like it kinda doesnt fit. it might just be because of the myspace encoding or something. I dunno cool stuff though, cant wait for the vocals and stuff
  13. Ive had this problem before. My assumption is that the Redrum isnt meant for VERY long samples. If you want to use these samples I suggest you use the NN-19 or the NN-XT.
  14. hmm well I have an interesting default template if anybody wants to check it out.
  15. so uhh.. anybody make some sort of progress? Just wondering . Also, still up if anybody new wants to join.
  16. so I went to my local music store and they had the full version but not the demo version . I gotta order that from the props themselves. Now I have to wait a few days
  17. AHH MY SPEAKERS ARE BROKEN!!! just joking Anyways.. my critique on this song. I like the style, its really cool. Alot of the sounds could use some work, they just sound pretty basic... or maybe its that the song is WAY too loud, I would assume its hard limited like a bastard (see what I did there ). haha but yea, I like where this is going. Keep at it. Anyways, ive been really busy with like 50 million other projects, but I swer I'll get back to my song very very soon (within the next month). Then I'll come back and be like "BAM!! RIGHT IN THE KISSER!!" and you'll be like "WHOAH!" .
  18. WHAT??? How come? Also, it does really suck that R4 wont support multi cores.
  19. yea, Ive had alot of problems with this as well. I would also like some sort of answer to this .
  20. yeah! lets all meet up in winnipeg, manitoba, canada!!... yea like thats ever gonna happen This is really hot though.
  21. lol, those names remind me of like megaman boss names. Launch Octopus, etc I'm very interested if these bosses and whatnot have any sort of connection to the previous ones.
  22. umm.. plug it in to the computer? (get a 1/4" to 1/8" converter) something like this I'm assuming
  23. the only downside is that you technically cant use the academic version for commercial use. (i.e. selling songs) Edit: Also just for the record (directed towards fury master. WTF do you mean "Stuff that sounds MP3 quality and not .wav"???? You do realize that a wav file is pretty much the best quality you can get for a song. Seeing as its pretty much raw sound data? MP3 compresses wav files and the song ends up loosing quality, the only reason its so popular is because it shrinks the files down considerably and for the most part almost sounds the same. Midi on the other hand, is pretty much what you said. Though depending on your midi banks, midi files could be amazingly awesome, and just as good as any other music out there.
  24. well mostly trance/chill, but maybe a happy hardcore, a little break beat. Mostly trance/chill though
