  1. This ReMix is very awesomely unique. I must confess at first I thought there was something going on with my sound card, but then the rhythm kicked in and I was like, "YES! WIN!" Very very nice stuff - looking forward to more. Interview was great too - props for playing the trombone! Also of note - this was the first ReMix I listened to on my new Bose headphones. Awesome.
  2. I absolutely LOVED the Spies video. Just wanted to say that.
  3. This here is some good stuff. Couple of things threw me off - the first part sounded a bit too fake for me. The Japanese sounds were a nice touch, but they didn't sound very authentically Japanese, you know? Once I got past that though, the arrangement sounded nice. The other thing was that I thought the transition into the second part was too abrupt. I think it probably could have flowed better than it did. Again, minor issues, and overall it's a very enjoyable piece. Keep up the good work!
  4. I'd like to officially say (because I'm not sure if I've said it before, and if I haven't, I'm sorry) that Sixto Sounds is my favorite ReMixer on this site. I love every single track that has come from him - he never fails to amaze me with just how awesome the songs are. Go the Distance is no exception. Keep it up, man, the stuff you do is an inspiration. (It's not even my favorite genre, and I still love this guy.)
  5. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. OH YEAH!! This is hot. I love it. Weather Report is amazing (Jaco kicks serious butt), and I can definitely get the influence for this song. Those drums just make it - when they first came in I was floored by how great they sound. Keep it up!
  6. *cries* It's just so...so beautiful.... ALRIGHT THAT'S IT! We need a Jazz Arrangement Album. SOMEONE DO IT! And make sure these guys are on there.
  7. This is a heck of a lot more satisfying than the recent Portal Remix. Props to you both - I really enjoyed it. The 7/8 adds a really unique touch, and I thought you pulled it off rather well (although I had a heck of a time trying to figure it out - thanks for mentioning it!) The only thing I can think of that criticizes this is that the rock section doesn't sound different enough - it's basically the same thing with added effects. It would've been nice to vary it a little. All the same, an excellent track.
  8. Ooof...I like this, but I don't. Trust me, I can understand the issues with recording a large group and such as I'm in several of them, but there were just waaay too many to make this recording submission worthy. My recommendation would have been to re-record it after cleaning it up - sure it's less significant because then djp and Liontamer wouldn't have been there, but overall it would've been the better thing to do. The tuning errors and such are just too distracting for me to enjoy this fully.
  9. You don't know how long I've been waiting for a remix that featured as much kickass trombone as this one does. This song is absolutely AMAZING. I would very much love to hear more of this same type of stuff, especially the trombonist - AMAZING. As a trombone player myself, let me be one to say that he is definitely AMAZING. AMAZING!!!
  10. I'm definitely enjoying this. All the mixes are great, even though some of them are probably a little old. That's actually interesting - I can tell with some of them that the ReMixers have changed they way they do things since they first made the mixes. Even so, it's all VERY high quality, and I'm definitely enjoying it. Looking forward to listening to the second half.
  11. I'm with djp on this one - we need more jazz, especially live (although not live is perfectly acceptable, and in fact encouraged). It's nice to know that while I'm still wallowing in the "I'm not ready to do this yet" phase of my progress towards becoming a ReMixer, there's some WONDERFUL stuff coming out. I'm really digging this track. The opening is simply lovely, but then when the drums come in you settle into a nice groove and it just...clicks. Excellent on both your parts - moar, plz.
  12. This is some nice stuff. I really liked the Banjo-Kazooie track (all the way back in 2008....I found that funny), and so I'm glad to hear that you're awesome just on your own. It sounds very nice too - I'm glad you were able to step up production, because the end result is quite delicious. Looking forward to more.
  13. I especially loved your opening. This was very nice - I'm not too familiar with the source, but you made it sound like something I want to look up! Excellent way to start the new year.
  14. I've always loved Arabian instrumentation, so this mix is a plus for me. I thought this was very nice - I didn't even get tired of the drum loop. This is probably one of my favorite source tunes from the game as well. Nice job - an excellent way to end the year.
  15. This is seriously the best thing I've heard from OCR ever. EVER. #1. Top of the charts. SERIOUSLY. Oh my gosh, this is great.
  16. Oooh, yeah, this is some nice stuff here. I especially love your piano solo - that was well done. Arrangement is very good. I've always been of the opinion that OCR lacks Jazz compared to everything else that gets posted - 'tis the season for awesomeness. I want moar!
  17. I like this one. Guitar takes of Donkey Kong music always appeal to me because I imagine Diddy himself rocking out on his guitar from DK64. This is definitely a good one - I do think it could've been improved by making the rhythm guitar louder - there's an unbalance in the sound. The drums are nice though.
  18. Very very nice. You nailed the ambience you were going for - I definitely thought it flowed very well. I'm seriously looking forward to more from you.
  19. Solid. Once the melody came in I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't know too much about this style, but I do know that the way you've meshed together certain sounds works really well, and it keeps me interested all the way through, it's never boring. My only beef is that the beginning up until the melody seems a tad too long for my tastes, but again, that's probably just me. Excellent work.
  20. This isn't my favorite. The whole beginning part felt like you just changed up the tempo and threw some drums onto the original piano part (I realize that you may have used a different sample but it does sound very much like the original in my opinion). It didn't seem to me like there was anything tying the whole track together. I liked 2:38 with the break, but then after that was the rapping, which sounded extraneous and unnecessary. I think maybe what would have been better is if you had spread some rapping throughout the entire track - that way you may have been able to tie it together better and it would have sounded more finished.
  21. After I picked myself up off the floor, I then proceeded to have my world rocked. This is an amazing mix. Seriously. The n00bs this year really have an ear for arrangement, and ToN is no exception. Combined with the awesomeness-incarnate that is Sixto, you have yourself a solidly incredible mix. This is wonderful. I'm running out of adjectives to describe just how super this is.
  22. This is really, really, REALLY good. I've become a huge fan of piano over the years, and this song really is up there in terms of awesomeness. Your arrangement is solid, and when I say that, I mean it. I really want to hear more of you in the future. Well done.
  23. Your arrangement skills are solid in my honest opinion - everything you've done with this song fits like a glove, a cute, fuzzy glove. I thoroughly enjoyed it - definitely looking forward to more from you.
  24. AUGH! IT'S PACHELBEL! RUN!! This really isn't my genre - I could see myself dancing to this at a school function though. I would have to say it's really good - sounds a little long to me, but that's probably because it's not my favorite style of music. I like your use of the sound clips. Overall I think it's a great job, and deserves to be on this site. Looking forward to more of you in the future. EDIT: I hope you don't think I hate Canon in D - it's an amazing song, except that that chord progression is used in EVERYTHING.
