  1. I WAS looking for just ONE partner to do production for me on my Valkyrie Profile arrangement. However, the response was really really warm, so it's turned into a bit of a competition. So basically anyone who wants to take a stab at producing this thing, can do so. When everyone's done I'll announce the "winner," who's name will end up on the remix along with mine and then get submitted and subsequently rejected with possibly a "NO Override." HAHAHA! Just kidding. I doubt that will happen. In fact, I feel confident that this one will get accepted with the first submission. Either way let's do our best! Game: Valkyrie Profile Song: Behave Irrationally Genre: Death Metal (perhaps a bit more brutal than Cursed Bloodline) Program: Done with Sonar, but if you can do it in another program, that's fine. Job Description: To take my pre-recorded guitars, drums, vocals, and bass and make them sound as "good" as possible while also giving attention to my "production requests" below. Production Requests: REVERB: The second syllable of the word "Heaven" at 0:37 The final note of the lead guitar part at 3:54 The entire final guitar solo and more so than any other part. CHORUS: The last four notes in the lead guitar phrase at 3:43 UNORTHODOX/STUPID STUFF THAT I DON'T WANT CHANGED: Having way too many kinds of really loud cymbals. The part where I put a bit of flange on the tom drums. Explosive sounding low tom drum hits at the end. EVERYTHING ELSE: 1) Kick drum much heavier sounding than just the usual "click" that is the norm for metal. 2) Please make my toms, especially the lowest ones, WAY heavier. They seem to be so dang light right now. 3) Please make the words, "Jun" "Suo" "Shiho" "Yumei" in the beginning of the song, and "Ragnarok" "Einherjar" from the middle of the song very heavy and maybe even with a little chorus. 4) I don't know WHAT should be done, but can you make the line, "You have been chosen by Odin." have more impact, please? 5) Basically all of the guitars are free for you to EQ as you'd like, but the lead guitars at 3:07 sound so light for some reason. I leave them in your hands. 6) The explosive low tom drum hits at the end could be more explosive in my opinion. 7) One of the rhythm guitars at 4:34 has a dip in the volume for a moment, which was on purpose, but it's not creating the effect that I was going for. Please do something to it to make it sound cooler. I think that's everything. Contact: You can respond in this thread, PM me, or talk to me on MSN Messenger or AIM. MSN = chaahan@hotmail.com AIM = Enta no Kamisama Participants: Legion303 Sixto Fray Suzumebachi Fishy File download: I'll send you a private message about the FTP site that Legion303 was so kind to build for this. Make sure you say thank you to him in the thread if you download the files. I'm going PM style because it won't be good to have people who are just "checking it out" to also be taking up bandwidth by downloading it all. This Remix is different from other remixes on the site. If it passes it will be the most brutal death metal remix (that I know of), and definitely the only Viking Death Metal on the site, and most importantly, the first Valkyrie Profile mix. I hope you'll join me. Thank you very much. Sincerely, CHIPP Damage
  2. NO WAY! MUSTIN HAS A BEARD?! I knew I liked that guy for SOME reason. I can't wait till the day I meet him so I can show him mine. Hahaha!
  3. I'm using KOSS UR/10 headphones. What? You've never heard of them? They're only the most below average 10 dollar headphones out there. The change the EQ a lot, apparently. Yoroshiku!
  4. So does anyone have any ideas about how to make vocals that you recorded in one place sound like they belong in a mix that has guitars and drums that were recorded in another place? The style that I'm particularly looking for ideas about is death metal.
  5. Jeez man, you make it seem like the previous person who helped you translate your name did that to you on purpose. I don't think that was the case. And your last handle wasn't bad at all, it was funny yo. Anyway, thanks. Don't hate people or be pessimistic or do drugs. I'll try my best too!
  6. What the heck. 1. If I had to choose just one I guess I'd go with Star Ocean. 2. I'm best at... not any entire series, but I'm damn good at Zone of the Enders 2, Star Ocean 3, and I'm undoubtedly #1 in the entire world at Castlevania 4. I am just SO damn disgusting at that game. 3. Star Ocean 3 is my favorite in the series. 4. I used to own Star Ocean 2 but now I only own Star Ocean 3. 5. Why is it good? Because it's got a really pretty world, CRAZY battles, the coolest in-battle voices EVAR, and it's a perfect example of how extreme cliches and cheesiness can still be damn cool when there's lots of enthusiasm put into it. I just know that the Star Ocean creator thinks that it's the coolest game ever, and that's how everyone should think about every game they make.
  7. When I was a music major in college everyone swore to me that perfect pitch can only be obtained at birth and cannot be learned, but I KNEW that it could be done! Thank you! I've got a few. -Actually learning to play guitar as brutally as I can today makes me happy. I just recently joined a melodic death metal cover band and we play some Arch Enemy songs and the leader expects us to be able to play all the solos note for note at full speed. The fast solo on Ravenous a good example of what I'm talking about. -I'm proud of my VERY first band a lot. It was in Okinawa. I wrote ALL the music and played guitar and sang for it. The band was called "Unrequited Lust" (If you wanna hear a live recording of it, let me know.) and we were a melodic death metal band. Every song was an epic 8 minute movement with like 10 riffs. Not your stupid, verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus type of songs yo. That's enough about me. Let's talk about you.
  8. Yeah, he's right though. If you want something reviewed you gotta do some reviewing yourself. I could never understand bands out here that say please come to our next show, when all they do is hang out in the lobby or backstage until it's their turn to play. I always watch all the bands that are playing at the same show as I am with the rest of the audience.
  9. Ok, wait wait wait. I've got a good one. You ready? Here it goes. "What is Portal and what system is it for?" Waaahaaahaaaaaa! But seriously...
  10. Cool thanks guys. After I get the vocals in and try some effects on the lead guitars I'll post one last sample. I may actually be able to get a completely independent mix on the site.
  11. Happy birthday, oh God of Chiptunage! Thanks for your judgment of my Guilty Gear remix back in the day. Your comments were extremely helpful. I can't wait to hear more remixes from you and I hope you're personal life gets better and better. I promise to give you a free trip to Japan as a late birthday present, if I ever become famous.
  12. You've got some real sincere ideas, dude. I like that. Unfortunately with all the projects I have going, I can't do much more than I do already. My original intention in making this thread was to show the "judge love" by trying to change their job from a seemingly thankless one to something more appreciated by simply asking people to say, "Thank you." A judge once told me that people never thank them just for their judging service. So I started the thread and cracked some jokes in it along the way. But I DO have a plan for OCR though. I'm on the Japanese translation staff and I'm hoping that after I translate this whole freaking place that I can help create a huge Japanese following where I walk around outside and see people wearing OCR T-shirts and everybody knows CHIPP Damage as the guy from Niigata who made that Guilty Gear remix. And you can bet that if it became as popular as it is in America, Guilty Gear would be getting remixed left and right because it's just so damn hot out here man!
  13. That's for SNES? I'm gonna go download this I think. It sounds like such an epic adventure.
  14. Glad I could help you out. Actually, your posted laughing made me break out in laughter too yo. I scratched your back and then you were kind enough to scratch mine. Thanks.
  15. Yeah, I thought it was crazy too. Perhaps even a little too crazy. But I'm glad you were able to complete your entire album. I've still only got a demo CD.
  16. Yeah, I know MOST people love it. But I don't. the best drums I think I've ever heard was Stratovarius' Visions of Europe Live album. Although those were way to echoy for me to emulate in this song though.
  17. It's not 27 pages. It's 54 pages. Wouldn't it be easier just to tell me what it is? Judging by the name, it sounds like a big flame battle. FIRE! And that link only goes to a bunch of emotional teenagers complaining about the fact unmod is gone. It doesn't say anything about what it actually is. What the hell kinda "long story short" is that?! Huh? Huh? HUH?!
  18. http://chipp_damage.sitesled.com/Music/postadvicesample.mp3 Can you tell me if you think this one sounds better? I tried to follow Zircon's advice as much as I could. "Roll off" means decrease right? The only thing I went "rebellious teenager" on you about was the clicky bass drum thing. I tried to add the click without reducing the heaviness that I had. There was an extremely famous American metal band called Pantera which had a really skillful drummer whose sound engineer seemed to specialize in the clicky drums and I never liked it. I PERSONALLY like this sound a lot. But my opinion in sound quality is 95% of the time not agreed upon, so let me hear what you think.
  19. Thanks Zircon for the functioning link and thanks Tensei san for the advice. I THINK I did compress them a bit once already. Remember when I was concentrating on the drum sound like 5 years ago? I think I did something like that around that time.
  20. I'm glad you thought I was a cool teacher. hahaha. On the note of Guilty Gear. Back when it was just Guilty Gear XX days, I lived in Okinawa and I played at the arcade as Millia or Jam and this dude on the other side challenged me and it was a fairly even battle but in the end he used some pretty nice counter attack techniques with Baiken and defeated me. I got up and smiled and bowed at the dude. that was cool!
  21. Thanks man! I'm glad SOMEBODY read the first post cause I'm sure that if everyone else did, they might have actually posted messages that are MORE APPROPRIATE TO THE TOPIC OF THIS THREAD. But I digress. I keep hearing this word, "unmod." What exactly is that; why does everyone seems to want it so much; and why, despite everyone's desire, did it get deleted or removed or eaten or whatnot?
  22. You could do that if you wanted... I don't get it. ;
  23. You guys are gonna love my story. I'm a high school English teacher and I work at this one school that I'd say is 50% gamers. I have students sneaking up on me in the hallways and pretending to hold me up like their Snake. And everybody loves it when I make jokes about Sephiroth or Mega Man. And pretty much ALL of them play Guilty Gear and they were SO happy when they found out that their new ALT (me) was a big Guilty Gear fan too. They all go to the arcades together and have little Guilty Gear Accent Core tournaments and stuff. It's so damn sweet! So I've never tried the card typr arcade games. I'd like to though.
