  1. Yeah, Swordbreaker, you hit it right on the nose. I wanna know what people think about Motoi's hip hop stuff. I'm talking about Bitter Dance from Star Ocean 3 and Chaotic Dance 1 and 2 from Baten Kaitos 1 and 2 respectively. Those have GOT to be getting on some people's nerves. Hahaha. I love it though. "Work that body. Work that body. Make sure you don't hurt nobody."
  2. That's the consensus, Legion. We'd love to have that harmony. But you ARE getting credit for it. It'll be in the write-up if we manage to get this passed.
  3. You may be right. I wonder what happened to Sixto. I was really curious to hear one with his original drum sounds. If Fray agrees, I'd TOTALLY love that guitar harmony yo. How do you rule so god damn much, legion? I'll give it another night or two and if I don't hear anything, then Fray is the winner.
  4. Congratulations. Now I know why all those women are always saying things like, "I wanna have your baby." Hahaha.
  5. Well, I've got Monday evening over here. What's the situation, guys?
  6. Whoops. Looks like I should have read Arek the Absolute's post before posting mine. Oh well. Cheers Hoboka!!!
  7. Dude, as good of a game as Chrono Trigger is, the dialogue is ANYTHING but solid. The word I would choose to describe it is "unnatural." But I'll agree that the story is solid enough. . . And people thought there was no good reason to make a novel out of it? Hahaha. And the word Sephiroth has been around WAYYYYYYY longer than FF7 yo. I highly doubt it was a rip off.
  8. That's right I remember you saying that, actually. I guess I agree with the love or hate sentiment about Motoi. I mean, all those progressive rock tracks for the dungeons must drive a lot of people crazy. Valkyrie Profile was the 2nd soundtrack I heard by him (the first was Star Ocean 2) and that was enough for me to decide that he was my all-time favorite and my new favorite hasn't come along to best him yet. Valkyrie Profile stood out to me for having crazy boss battle themes that had crazy time signatures like 5/8. That, and TONS of progressive rock dungeon tracks. Hahaha. As for his live stuff, I am REALLY interested in his best of Star Ocean 2 and Valkyrie Profile concert. It must have been sweet because I think it was just a bassist, a drummer, and Motoi with like 12 keyboards! Hell yeah! When I listen to Motoi's piano stuff, I think to myself, "Yasunori Mitsuda needs to practice more." Hahaha.
  9. I don't know if he is underrated, but probably not, since he's worked on some pretty famous games, but in a preview of the game Eternal Sonata, they mentioned that Motoi Sakuraba is the musician and that he was really at his best for this game but that he's usually thought of as "harmlessly mediocre." I think that was the exact phrase used. And a gaming magazine, I once read that Star Ocean 3's music was extremely typical, Satriani-esque, uninteresting progressive rock. That wasn't the exact phrase but it was something to that effect. So anyway, what do you all think? Motoi is my all-time favorite musician and I recently decided that the soundtrack he created for Star Ocean 3 is my all-time favorite album but more than one publication has referred to him as mediocre or uninteresting. What's up with that?
  10. Your achievements were great Reuben. I'm terribly sorry that it had to end like this. I hope that the grief of all the people who have been touched by your existence will be as light as possible. Thanks for everything, Reuben. We'll miss you.
  11. Thanks for the new version Fray. I like it a lot. Well, I got Saturday morning over here. I'm hoping to hear something from the other remixers by the end of YOUR weekend. Everybody OK?
  12. The project mixes would fall into the same categories as any of the other mixes on the site wouldn't they? IF that's true then if you want to redistribute the music with... with... whatever it is, Then you have to ask the artists who made it and you have to not get any profit from it. I think.
  13. I wish I knew, because it sounds like a cool game.
  14. I don't know if Sanctuary is the same song or a different one, but I don't think he can remix Passion for this site since that song is released on Utada Hikaru's full length album. In other words, it wasn't made specifically for the game. (I think.)
  15. Well, since it's creators made the first Ghostbusters movies, then I think it's safe to say that the cinematic style and story will be good. Do you think movie makers can deliver on gameplay though? I wonder where they'll get their ideas from.
  16. The solo at 3:07 sounded better in version 5 I think. Yeah, sorry. Not the last version. Version 5. Kicked my ass at 3:07.
  17. Thank you! In THIS post alone, I FINALLY figured out what "FTW" stands for. Now how about that "10 char" business?
  18. Your mix is really sweet man. It's interesting to me how the snare drum sounds cool in the entire mix, but just those 1st beats sound all echoy and funny to me. Other than that, I liked the sound you had for the solo at 3:07 on your previous version better. It sounded less "muffled" if you will. Also, from 3:30 you can turn up the rhythm guitar a little bit more. I'd like to hear it blend with the lead a bit. Did you add a phase shifting effect at 4:33? I like it. I'd like it to be even more audible actually. Vocals might be a bit too quiet on the final verse and on the part starting at 1:00. The only other thing I'd like is some more chorus (or whatever effect it would take to make it sound like 3 or more people singing) on the words, Ragnarok at 2:18 and Einherjar at 2:24 and maybe not chorus, but just bassier EQ or something on "You have been chosen by Odin." The chorus doesn't seem to be working for me. Sorry I'm so damn picky. Legion requested another week so it's granted for everyone now.
  19. No that's fine, man. Legion caught a vicious head cold and can't listen to anything bassy right now so he asked for another week which I granted. So go ahead and try what you want to try man.
  20. I KNEW there was a reason why you picked your handle after the popular cartoon character. Hahaha. Just kidding. Unfortunately, I don't get the sweet little pop-up that you do. But I think that character in your post is the last boss in Last Blade 2. I could be wrong though. I don't remember his name either.
  21. I didn't know you had a bass, dude! You should have told me a long time ago.
  22. I just listened to the disjointed one too. Does all trance sound like this? No melody and just beats forever? Because in both versions the only part that I feel is worthwhile to listen to it the section that he stole. Maybe someone should rain on his parade simply for being such a bad musician. Hahaha.
