  1. Ah, so they included it in later packages. Good sample imo. Not believable, but better than most wavetable guitars lmao...If that is even the right term. Probably not. VST sample pack? PINGAS pack.
  2. Huh, I guess not. Says it was introduced in 2002. It sounds so much like the E-guitars that Omnisphere boasts though. Even has the same "whammy" articulations haha.
  3. Uh oh...good thing it leads to a blank page if not the admin. I checked on my lappy. Anyways, fixed and good to go. I hope. BTW: Woah...I think that guitar sample is an Atmosphere/Omnisphere sample. Composer Yasunori Mitsuda hit the velocity too hard on one of the notes periodically so it gives that awkward piercing feedback, at 1:18 etc. Oh well. The things you learn as you mess around with sample libraries and soundfonts lol.
  4. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) Hm, since we just had a slower song for 120, I think I'll pick something a bit more upbeat and fitting to bring in the new year: Magical Dreamers ~ The Wind, Stars, and Waves from Chrono Cross. (Editor's Note: Not to be confused with Radical Dreamers, which was done all the way back in MNP 11 and is an entirely different song) -Kat Deadline: Jan 28th @ 1PM Vote Ends: Feb 2nd @ 1 PM MnP ARCHIVE - made by Trism submit: https://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP121 MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines Source-Picks are limited to the era of gaming 1984-2006. In other words, Nes/Sega Master to PS2/GC/XBox 1. Going to relax this rule with certain Indie Titles like Shovel Knight, Undertale and possibly Crypt of the Necrodancer. Update me upon further titles that have that 'Retro Fidelity'. Thanks! Modifying the Source is fine, so long as it doesn't sound completely separate from its original intent. Small tempo changes are OK. But not 140 to 80 etc. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. Try to avoid making quality-based comments on submissions until after the Round is concluded. It is to avoid a Bias in Votes. MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make people's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)
  5. I enjoyed the new stuff. Got nothing helpful to add as this is beyond my scope...though I must say that I LOVE ambient shit. We really coulda used you for the All Metroid's Round...Probably would've blown us all away and stolen my victory there, no sweat Rofl...Hope this passes the bar at OCR!
  6. EDIT 2 million OK. The real feedback that I want to convey was in the Results/Comments. All other attempts...just...didn't match up to what I really think. The problem is...I'm no good at this. It's getting hard to give quality feedback cuz things have picked up again and we're getting a lot of quality entries. So...it falls down to minor gripes and that's when the questionable feedback arises.....I'm sorry for all the updates/edits. I'm so derp X_X
  7. Results Kat got 1st with 24 points. Wassup Thunder got 2nd with 20 points The Voduo Queen got 3rd with 17 points. APZX got 4th with 13 points. Kat please PM me with your source pick for Round 121*** (copy-pasta fixed) Comments Great round folks!! But...looking back, I gotta say that my feedback on Wassup Thunder's entry was pretty bad. I still stand by the scoring, but the feedback I gave was just...terrible. Production niggles aside, the Composition, it is VERY good and it is still within MnP's scope. So I failed there. Apologies man. X_X Souperion's Vote 1st: Kat's Winter's End. 2nd: Wassup Thunder's 3rd: APZX's. Thanks, sorry for the mishmash.
  8. Gotta stuff that Turkey extra hard with DINNER.
  9. Aha, the Daduk. I got one of those, time for me to try it out. I got a SoM soundfont pack too,...some great sounds for sure! Good stuff.
  10. EDITS...EDITS EVERYWHERE!!! CS188 SAVE ME This is what we got so far...Uhhhh EDITED so no one got doxx'd by accident rofl. Wassup Thunder 2020-12-23 12:42:31 2020-12-23 12:42:31 APZX 2020-12-24 04:43:03 2020-12-24 04:43:03 bundeslang 2020-12-24 07:19:16 2020-12-24 07:19:16 hoboka 2020-12-24 11:06:46 2020-12-24 11:06:46 Dex 2020-12-24 12:06:20 2020-12-24 12:06:20
  11. ARRGG...I forgot to mention the BONUS entry in my vote. Souperion: good thing you weren't competing otherwise it'd probably be another win by you lol. Loved that you captured the weird Whale-Wind sound from SoM' intro. Nice MMM choirs. What do you call that Egyptian Wind thing at 0:55 and 1:29...it's so discreetly hidden you can barely tell it's its own thing. But I love it all the same. Lots of hidden nuances here and layers. Like an onion. A very sexy onion.
  12. Oof, no it did not save the vote. Sorry for posting the voting round late...gave it an extension. Make sure to copy paste your vote before submitting again, if it gives you another weird screen, PM it to me. Same with anyone else who submitted a vote, but didn't register. So far, we got Wassup Thunder, APZX and a Bundeslang vote. I'm going to submit mine right now.
  13. Welcome to the Voting Stage! There are 4 entries this round. There is 2 Bonus entry(s) this round There IS a voter bonus this round! Souperion have a vote worth 2x. When Voting, if possible, avoid granting 1:1 covers top spot. MnP requires a bit of remixage after all. Don't vote for Bonus entries please. Participants may not vote for themselves. Vote ends Dec 27th 1Pm. Vote here https://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP120 (Whoops, due to Voting Phase being posted late, I'm going to extend it by 2 days, since it won't be on X-Mas day.)
  14. Eh, I'm gonna roll as a BONUS actually. Feels more comfortable to sit as a BONUS this time around. (edit) With 5 people, we got a Voter BONUS anyways. Just like the old days. Haha.
  15. Congrats TVG. I thought you were the underdog of this round and I'm glad to be proven wrong. Nice work! And I don't mean this is a rude way. It just came out weird...Text is hard to contextualize. >.<
  16. Could consider it. Probabably allow medleys in it too.
  17. Voted. Again, I forgot to give a comment on the BONUS. Well, I think that Wassup Thunder's BONUS is pretty neat. Love how the percussion reflects the mood and slowly works its way into a march beat that sound very convincing! Orchestral elements are pretty nice. Maybe a bit dry? Not sure. You'd need to ask a pro. Haha.
  18. I attempted that at PRC few years back and couldn't get too much interest going** (except for the Terranigma Sad theme, irrc...but that goes 8 years back). However, we have a new round of participants with vastly different tastes, so maybe you'll get lucky? Plus, OCR recently released a Terranigma Project, so that might help.
  19. I didn't feel it this round and I think we're all tired of me trolling the Sanic. It was a pretty cool source tune though! I'll get in a vote edgewise. Or Lastminutewise. Hopefully soon. Nice turnout!!
  20. Shouldn't be a problem as I ever really addressed that. Voters may find it a detractor. Up to you.
  21. Yeah, it's a good tune and an excellent pick for the theme. I actually beat this game, and I rarely ever complete action RPGs, other than the Soulblazer trilogy. Lmao. I'll take the thanks, but direct it more at Souperion. ...edits of Mana.
  22. Woah, 2:39 surprised me. That is a cool string articulation. Interesting jazz beat you got going on. I used to do jazz beats with my ambient stuff too (except the mix was ass and samples were all soundfonts). It could work. You got some big cahones with this approach and I'd love to see it develop more.
  23. Remastered an old WIP of mine. I might submit it. Dunno. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/986244 Source:
