I'm finding that the same critiques I have of your electronic tracks also apply to your acoustic ones, Gui When the instruments are exposed, they're hardly convincing (though I gotta commend you on the sequencing for the guitar) and overall the mastering feels pretty mid-high dominant. The strings are probably the most noticeably unrealistic of the bunch, but fortunately there's only a few moments where they're playing without accompaniment. Fortunately, though, many of the strengths of your dance tunes carry over here too, and the result of this genre transition is really special. Your eclectic choice of instruments always brings some unique spice to OCR's library, and the complex melody writing feels nothing short of magical. The peaks and valleys of the arrangement are very strong and pronounced thanks to some great transition writing. Clearly I love this mix a lot. Looking at it objectively, there's issues with samples and sequencing, but honestly they don't affect my enjoyment of the track at all, really. Excellent work, friend! YES

I sort of know what halc is talking about, and I think for me it boils down to a certain aesthetic the remix has... it's very aggressive, yet at the same time it feels like it's veiled in a layer of intense reverb and filtering. Knowing Mike, I'm pretty sure the sound achieved here is 100% intentional, but it is a little jarring at first. I love the unique sound here, personally. Some highlights: the bassline is intense and the way it cuts through the rest of the song really helps keep things grounded. The use of those acoustic drum fills is really awesome.   3. Wow, this is actually closer of a call than I expected it to be based on the other votes. This is a really catchy, interesting song with some great textures. I feel very chilled out despite the fact that a lot of the rhythms/melodies are rather active. I feel like your background writing is pretty much solid, it's got a kind of choppy, futuristic jazz sound to it that I enjoy very much. I don't agree with Shariq about the sound choices/soundscape personally, I think this accomplished exactly what it set out to. The only sore spot, like Deia and Shariq mentioned, is the lead, which is not carrying its weight. The articulation on the synth doesn't really allow for much expressiveness, and the writing itself feels like it's on autopilot to be honest. I think revamping the lead synth line would do wonders to this track. In addition, the bassline is really cool but it's mixed a little too loudly. Last thing, I like the drum writing a lot but the sequencing could still be improved, particularly during fills where there are numerous snare/bassdrum hits in a row, it sounds like the timing is too rigid. The same goes for the ride cymbals, they sound pretty static in the velocities. This is really enjoyable but I think there's some fixes that need to be made first. NO (resub!)
  4. I have to side with the NO's on this one, I feel like overall the various elements in the song are not balanced right, particularly the non-guitar instruments. Things like your synth flute, strings, and piano are barely audible over the drums and guitars. In addition, the aforementioned instruments are also poorly sequenced and lack any expressiveness. That's a bit of a dealbreaker for me, as the song sounds noticeably weaker when those parts are playing. As a side note, the ending here is killer! Really loved that part. I feel like you've got a strong arrangement and sound pallet here, there just needs to be a better balance struck between all of your different sounds in order for this to click.   5. While I am definitely a fan of this arrangement (and shame on you Deia for ragging on the source, this is one of my favorites from the OST!) there's no reason for me to stall this vote. I'd like to see some of the aforementioned changes made, too. The distortion could be easily fixed up and there's some production tweaks that could be made, and I also agree that the lead synth is a little plain and unexpressive a lot of the time and sounds more like a super-fake guitar than anything, and could be improved. The bass and drum writing is already killer, and the atmosphere is solid too. Just the lead writing and the overall production could use some punching up, IMO. I'd like to get this fixed up in time for the album release if you're interested, so get to it! This should be super-easy for you. NO(resub!!)

Got some new blood on the project here Scaredsim and Harjawaldar are joining on to claim Kakariko Village, and a megacollab between Sixto Sounds, Level 99 and Jeff Ball is forming for Gerudo Valley! There's some really amazing stuff going on behind the scenes and hopefully it'll continue to pick up the pace. I'll be doing a bit of recruitment for some of the remaining tracks this week, and touching base with those of you who still need to get WIPs in. I'm very excited about where this project is headed, here's to a lot more productivity in the near future now that summer is upon us!
  8. So amazing. I was listening to this the other night and it felt like a 6 minute remix to me, it blew my mind when I downloaded the song and realized it was only 3:30. It feels like you cover a lot of territory in such a short time. I can't find any serious flaws here, I'd honestly say this is submission-ready as soon as you feel happy with the level of polish.
  9. Alright guys, first off, I REALLY apologize for the long period of radio silence lately. That's not really fair to anybody who's been anticipating this for so long, and really we've waited more than enough on these last few tracks. So, I'll be chatting with Flexstyle (I've already spoken with Theophany) about getting a game plan together to finish this project within 2 weeks at the MOST, hopefully sooner. Not sure exactly how we're going to tackle these remaining two tracks but somehow or another, we'll get them wrapped up so we can move forward with the release of the project. Thanks all for your patience and I apologize for being a sucky director as of late. Life's fallen on top of me and lately I've just been too busy to devote any time to the site. Now that summer time is here, I expect that to change substantially. Let's get this done, I'll be asking around shortly if we end up needing any outside help to get the remaining remixes finished.
  10. Honestly, I don't think this is really a step up or down from the previous version. The bad sequencing on the strings stands out even more. I feel like this is gonna need an overhaul on certain elements of the song, a quick fix like this isn't going to cut it for me either :\ On the plus side, this is still a SICK arrangement that deserves to be heard in its full glory. I'd say take this one back to the WIP forums and see what can be done with it. NO (resub!)
  11. So good dude Makes me want to hear more of Claire around OCR, her unique voice and strong delivery really makes this song. And, of course, the rest of the instrumentation built up around that centerpiece is tasteful and well-written, as always. Definitely one of my favorites from you, hope you can maintain this pace for a long time to come!
  12. I really love this arrangement. I would strongly urge you to get a live guitar/violin performance on here. Finding those performers shouldn't be difficult but in this case I feel like it would be REALLY worth it, considering how good the arrangement is. Your vocal mixes lately have been an absolute goldmine, hope this one gets finished!
  13. This is gorgeous, instant favorite for me Might even be OCR worthy, there's potentially just enough interpretation going on with the performance and effects to warrant it. It would be a tough call but I feel like when the performance is this emotive and sounds as nice as it does, it would be worth a shot to submit it (maybe with a more polished performance? I dunno.) Either way, I like it a lot and I'll be spreading this around

  15. Wow, this is a blast from the past! I almost forgot about this one a long time ago. Listening back on it with a much more critical pair of ears than I had a year and a half ago, I'm noticing a handful of timing/performance issues that I didn't really pick up on when I first listened. They seem most prominent in the beginning of the song; certain rhythms just aren't lining up quite right. However, as you get further into the performance, it's clear that you all get into the groove and it all begins to click better. However, what hasn't changed since I first listened to it is how much I enjoy the concept, arrangement, and performance you've crafted here. I think it's incredibly unique and fitting for the source, and I love how you blended various iterations of the Jungle Hijinx theme into one arrangement. Despite any flaws in the performance, you got a very clean recording and a very fun result that I think would be a mistake to pass over. People are going to enjoy this one, I'm positive of that. I'm still on board with this, good luck with the rest of the vote! YES
  16. Honestly, this one's so close that it could seriously swing either way for me. I hear what everyone is saying about the production and the drums, but I can also respect that a lot of that might have been an intentional choice, given the aggressive breakbeat style you're going for. I do agree with OA on the repetitiveness, it would be really nice to have something to keep that main riff fresh like a keychange or more alterations to the underlying chord progression. I feel like this one's headed towards a NO (resub) and I can certainly see why, so I'm not going to hold it up. I think some additional cleanup would help this out in the long run, as long as you can do so in a way that doesn't compromise the intensity of the song. Really hope to see this one again, it's got a ton of promise and it's fun to listen to. NO (boderline/resub!)

  19. Very nice to see you two working together again - the last ambient/skryp collab racked up hundreds of plays on my library so I'm interested to see what you guys did here. Overall, I'm hearing how you utilized Marc Star's track and some of the into yours but you developed an entirely unique character for your re-ReMix so I don't personally feel like any of the sample usage here is too direct or that the mix relies too much on direct sampled material to prevent it from passing. This might be a good one to get DJP's opinion on though. I'm impressed by the intricacy of this track, the glitching gets kind of ridiculous at times but I understand that that's the direction this genre is headed in, so I'm on board with it. Overall, the production is great and when the beat starts pounding, your mix sounds fantastic! No complaints there. Few nitpicks... What happened at 2:55? That was a sloppy transition guys Also, the ending fade is so abrupt, I'm almost tempted to go conditional on that and request a fix but let's see what other judges say first. Like the ReMix itself, my thoughts here are scattered and spastic but overall I think I like what I'm hearing. There's a couple of parts I'm not totally sold on but overall, this demonstrates a high level of musical competency from both artists and ends up sounding very fun and engaging from start to finish. Pretty nice song but it's hard to enjoy with that drum loop being on autopilot like it is for the whole song You've got some okay fills but it's such an up-front part of the mix, it's difficult not to be annoyed by how static it is. The rest of the mix is fine and a part of me thinks I'm getting hung up on something that's not really that big of a deal, but right away I was bothered by that aspect of the mix here and it made it difficult to really focus on the rest of the song NO (resubmit)

Very solid concept that's well-executed, it's clear you went the extra mile to make this "not just another metal mix" All of the little instruments and synths that are added around the traditional metal template help make this stand out amongst the dense forest of metal mixes that are out there. No qualms here, I like this a lot! YES
  22. Ooohh yeah, this is sick! This is a great example of a mix that's built on an EXTREMELY solid foundation (I love the plucked bass synth that the song is built around) so that every little detail and addition that pops up in the mix is just icing on an already-delicious cake. Your production is spot-on, much better than any submission I've heard from you so far. The slightly-detuned lead at 2:13 is awesome and helps retain some of the ethnic vibe from the source. Source usage checks out as far as I'm concerned, I didn't do a terribly thorough comparison but I heard it throughout the mix. Great trance mix that isn't particularly flashy or extravagant, but still sounds fantastic and extremely enjoyable. Nice work mate YES

This is sweet, pretty much exactly what I've come to expect from Pete - aggressive drums, over-the-top glitching and stuttering, and a nice mix of ethnic instruments and synths to create that "temple-y" feel that you seem to love so much. The level of detail in this mix is really what sells me on it. Your samples aren't the best and the sequencing is hardly realistic (the sitar particularly that comes in for a few seconds just sounds bad, I'd have replaced that with another instrument personally) but on the positive side your flutes sound pretty expressive, and the drumming/synth writing is insane. The arrangement drags a little bit, but it's not a major issue. I think you still have a bit of a way to go before you fully nail down this style and get the production exactly where it needs to be, but this is a step in the right direction compared to your previous subs and I'm happy to throw another YES your way. Keep it up duder YES
  24. Love the processing on your intro synths. This is pretty much standard WillRock faff but it's good stuff. It's the little details in here that make the song stand out, like the subtle piano transitions, or the little details/automation you use on your synths to give them some personality. Take note everyone who's reading, this is a mighty fine example of a very simple concept that's executed with the proper amount of finesse, detail, and care to make it stand out. I'm digging this YES
