Final Fantasy 6 - Dancing Mad (Complete)
ericharris replied to Saio's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
sounds are much better, a bit midi-ish still, but a big improvment. i think this is a 50/50 chance of being approved -
lucky you, this is the site that hosts the mp3. search final fantasy 7 in game, and it's the remix that has something about sector 7 and an angel (i can't remember that well). Anyway, it's on the site.

FFX - High Summoner Yuna (Zanarkand, orchestral)

i enjoyed the arragment, sounds like it would be an intro if they did a 10-3 (not that i would buy it, 2 sux). It has a lot more emotion than the other chamber remix (i wouldn't call either of them orchestras) but the melody is taken in a very loose interpritation almost like a remix a romantic period composer would do. I agree with the dude on top, the sounds could be better. a live recording is worthy for this aragment. cant wait to hear the next draft. -
just wanted to say that i am still throwing ideas arround and i didn't forget or give up yet. Sorry i'm taking so long, but im trying my best and a lot of shit is happening in my life. Merry christmas everyone!

Feedback on some mixes (FF4 and 7)
ericharris replied to brunoafh's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
way too fl sounding. try to steal drum hits from songs to get a more unique sound and make your own sounds with sytrus. -
link's dead

hey man, this isn't bad at all, very tranquil and soothing mastering and timbre is great. I love that horn synth. my only complant would have to be that thing in the background that sounds a little like a distorted guitar but it kinda fits too. For an ending, might i suggest dropping that distored thing in the back and just let the haromnies and melodies play out, (think blink 182 crappy song feeling it at the end with the vocals). anyway, good stuff, i would suggest not submitting, to perfect it, and i heard from a friend that he was disappionted with the new zelda game because it was too easy and he beat it in a few days.

Final Fantasy 6 - Dancing Mad (Complete)
ericharris replied to Saio's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
amen to that! Not really bad, the music is good, but i really hate the timbre, if you have sytrus, supposedly you can change the timbre to anything your heart diseres (I still can't figure out what half the buttons do). also the mix is too long, try to edit it a little. -
Final Fantasy 7 'One-Winged Angel' (Crescendo to Chaos)
ericharris replied to Tensei's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
i love the sound of general midi, i don't know why. The intro is nice, i mean really nice, then you go into these really bizzare, out of key, most choatic drum thing i have ever heard, you have some really good ideas with this piece, but you really have to fix some of the guitar chords cause a few of them sound really off. the next piece was not so bad tho. Not bad for a first draft though. If you need a bassist for the final, you know where to find me. -
sorry, it just sounds like the different parts are in different keys.
-
im still working on it
-
it shows, that's why i asked. the chords don't fit

Sonic the Hedgehog 3: Ice Cap Remix concept (VERY ROUGH)
ericharris replied to genghisdani's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
i agree with the guy above. Honestly, just keep practicing and in no time, you will say "hey, im damn good" -
want me to give you a jpeg of the sheet music?
-
the intro reminds me of james bond clubing. anyway, not really a fan of techno, but half of the first time submittions are nothing but pure crap. This really is unorthodox. Great quality everything, the only thing i have a small problem with is the pure string break dowm. Overall, a great piece

FF4 - Theme of Love JAZZ BALLAD. (complete?)
ericharris replied to SSB's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
i really like the arragment, but bring out the piano. don't let it just play the chords, piano can be a solo instrument. Everything else is great, looking foward to the final. also, if you need an upright bassist... -
hi hat and bass drum sound kinda fake, snare sounds really trippy, it's usually centered. Some of the synths sound cheesy, you really need to master this better. This is a little to choatic for my tastes, but i think it's not all that bad for a first draft, some of the parts pretty well written, just executed poorly. Definately lower the drums, and raise the choir

One Winged Angel - No music all vocals
ericharris replied to JenovaProjectRebirth's topic in ReMix Requests
the inverse thing is you take the original track, and play it at the same time as an only instremental track inversed so the instrumental wavelength cancels out the inversed instrumental and the final product is vocals. It is so freaking hard to do this tho. the panning vocals trick only works if you want the vocals gone. I would suggest again asking the guy that wrote the mix above -
Rescue on Fractalus C64 WIP / possible final
ericharris replied to Coucou's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
exactly what is this song To the song portion, i think this is much better than anything i could do, but it's not submittion ready. The judges love to nit pick at stuid things like the tone of the synths and repataive themes. Honestly, this work sounds like a water downed version of a mixer called sephfire. But this is really not bad -
One Winged Angel - No music all vocals
ericharris replied to JenovaProjectRebirth's topic in ReMix Requests
there's a mix with just the vocals and beats on this site try asking him. If you really want to, you could make your own with the inverse instrumental trick, but that's a bitch -
BLoody Tears (for a School Project)
ericharris replied to ShinnyMetal's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
drums are way too loud and sound kind of fake. pretty obvious you use fl. good work with the guitar tone. the biggest problem i have with this is just the fact that the song has been done to death -
pretty high quality stuff you got here. string synth is flawless, the arragement is good, your scream needs a lot of work tho. and if anyone asks, this is the game theme, not the movie.

i ripped your midi and made a few ajustments, id send it to you, but i don't have an upload site and your doesn't want me to upload for some reason. give me your email adress and ill send you the new midi (there's no big ajustment, just a little drum and bass)
