  1. Pretty big update posted for my ToS: Knight/Dawn of whatever track. Making fast progress.
  2. Wow, 2-year old bump . You should be looking for this here: This is Kompakt as opened within FL Studio.
  3. Well, depending on what type of Channel your using, you could do a note slide. For example: We want to slide from C5 to C4. Draw the first note, which the bass will play initially. Then, draw the second note. The second note should begin at the point you want the bass to START sliding and end where you want it to FINISH sliding. Note: the length of the FIRST note determines how long it will play for, if you extend the second note beyond that of the first, the note will stop playing once the first note cuts off. Now, double click the second note, select Slide, and hit the checkmark. It should sound like this when done: http://nutritious4.googlepages.com/Bass1.mp3 The bass starts the first note at C5, then starts sliding on the offbeat of beat 1, finishes sliding at the start of beat 4, and plays C4 for the full last beat of the measure.
  4. Bumping to let you know I've started on my track, just not showable yet
  5. Man, I was JUST working on a way to go the opposite direction, but you beat me to it. Guess I can cancel mine now
  6. Nice walker design. It's a lot funnier when you shorten the legs though: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=866367 *be sure to watch it all the way through
  7. Actually, I've been wondering the same thing. After looking on the nbc olympics website, it sorts by total medals. In previous years, I thought it was only by gold medal total. I guess you use whatever system puts you ahead
  8. Hah very nice. I still haven't tried that level much. Finally got claw machine working on back and forth in case anyone cares http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=746751
  9. I guess I'll have to disagree a bit with Roz here. I can hear the source useage very clearly through your WIP (probably because I'm very familiar with it), but it's the production that needs a huge amount of work. -Things are very sparse so far writing wise, especially durms. Occasional cymbal hit seems weird. Try to imagine if it really was a drummer playing - he wouldn't be satisfied with this type of intro. -Strings sound like you're using squidfont, but their tone sounds really lo-fi (which is hard to avoid with that soundfont if that's what you're using). It's cool if you're going for that effect with them though, like an old vinyl playing them or something. If you don't want it, try brightening them with EQ or mix other patches in, mix in Cadenza strings, or something. -Guitar is worst offender. Sounds like you're using slayer, which is...well... lets just say it's really hard to get any realistic sound from it. I don't know how to help you here. Overall, the arrangement could work, but it's going to need a huge production lift to make it believable. Real-sounding guitar, interesting drum playing and production would be a must. Keep working on your production skills, man, you'll get the hang of things
  10. Hah, I especially like the bulldozer and your back and forth ones. Your "four balls" solution is almost exactly the same as mine. Few new ones: awash Tube I'm still working on my back and forth design.
  11. Slowly making some progress on this one, especially now that I've finished several other songs that were also in the works: http://nutritious4.googlepages.com/Lufia-InEachOneofUs_5.mp3 -Several additions and tweaks for existing stuff -Started on next section, though it'll be bigger still than what's currently on there
  12. Bumping to let you know this song is done.
  13. OK! I think I've finally finished this one. Final version, pending any crits: http://nutritious4.googlepages.com/FF6-MartialLaw_11.mp3
  14. Heh, much more efficient than mine. My catapult took forever to get working right.
  15. Nice, I just finally beat that level myself: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=662193 Warning: might slow down your comp a lot, you may want to click the simple design button on the bottom left to speed things up.
  16. Heh, this is a pretty fun game. Anyone have the full version? Is it worth it? My design for mission to mars: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=580616
  17. Well, actually version 2.0 was saved with FL 8, which is probably what's causing it. But the real question is, why is anyone still using 7?
  18. Thanks for the encouragement, guys . I got a bit of inspiration today on the track, so made some good progress: -There's a click near the end that's caused by a glitch in one of the sounds, which will be fixed once I figure it out -2:12 - 2:28 needs some work still -Might need to up the solo volumes near the end, so please let me know if you can't hear them clear enough -Sorry about the sudden ending, but didn't have time to progress it further
  19. Any genre is acceptable at ocr, including orchestral.
  20. Well, if you're planning on submitting this to OCR, then this would be your first problem. As it stands, the structure is pretty much identical to the original, which doesn't jive with OCR's standards for arrangement. Check out section 4 from the Submission Standards to get a better idea of what the site is about. Now, if you're not planning on submitting, I can give a little feedback on production (since arrangement is basically identical to the original): -The pad sound you have layered with the bells has way too slow of an attack to carry the part you've written for it. It sounds behind. -Beats sound a bit weak and the writing on them is pretty simplistic. Not sure on the style you want, but the dance-y kick is just feels a bit weird for this style, and even more so on the clap. If you're going for a laid back type of feel that I think you are, I don't think this will carry it. It needs something more interesting. I mentioned the writing also, it's sounds like pretty simple patterns that are repeated over and over. Try varying up the beat and make it more complex to keep the listener interested. -Some sounds are pretty good (bells for example), some are kind of "basic" sounding but not necessarily bad (pads, plucked instrument) -Overall soundscape was pretty clear, no worries there Overall, this is a heck of a lot better than my first arrangements, so don't be discouraged. Try interpreting the original and make the arrangement your own, while still keeping a connection with the OST.
