Thursday 17 apr 2008 Delayed Matter ..and we're back again after 2 weeks of silence. We're sorry bout this, but it's been really hectic lately. please understand.. Anyway: destructo's back with another track, this time in an electronic easylistening/ chillout/ downtempo enviroment. i always enjoy listening to destructo's music, cause you never know what you get.. his contribution to VP&F shows us some great evidence. this song is entitled " Grey Matter ", and it does his reputation perfect justice. lend him an ear, ok? direct link: http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/084%20-%20destructo%20-%20Grey%20Matter.mp3 web: http://www.reunionstudio.org

awesome! truly awesome! i love this game, it's definitly a milestone in the history of videogames - i'm a little disappointed with the people of this planet though, who never really understood the beauty of it and turned Clover into a martyr way too early this remix definitly does it justice in all senses, being a milestone remix of a veteran, being awesomely produced and mixing ethnics and modernism into a piece of gold and geez.. 4 years! welcome back mcvaffe - we've missed you -
OCR01672 - F-Zero "The Freedom of Zero"

I actually agree with you 100% Harmony.. BUT i have realised what makes me like some remixes that have lyrics and what doesn't. if a remix contains lyrics that are printed down on the exact (or almost exact) melody in a song - it sometimes sounds odd, because the melody itself is not a melody that is "singable" .. some melodies weren't just meant for a human voice .. this happens alot in videogame music .. there are a few tracks on this site i could use as an example but i don't want to flame anyone this remix uses a perfect "singing" melody, i don't know if you wrote it or if it's in the game..however, in this case it doesn't matter .. because the melody is "singable" that's what i think -
OCR01277 - Earthworm Jim 2 "Invertebrate Retreat"

OCR01699 - Mega Man 2 "Heat Man (Ignition Mix)"

/me agrees with palpable on this one! the first time i heard it it vanished from me and i couldn't remember hearing it at all, because i was doing something else. iow, perfect background music the second time i payed close attention and now i could definitly hear it .. very nice atmosphere, good beat, and i can't see why there would be any frequencyproblems.. the balance is very nice! and then again, im born and raised with electronic music, of all kinds.. great first remix, hope to hear more from you -
Reunion083 by Munkie (guest release)
Platonist replied to Platonist's topic in Post Your Original Music!
oh holy ... hmm gonna check it out .. thanx for the heads up EDIT: yup you're right . sorry for that it's all fixed now -
Moving On So the first single release after Vp&F comes from Linus a.k.a Munkie. It's a happy trance kinda "hands up in the air" themed track with loads of sidechained compression. Well tbh at first i thought the sidechain was a little exaggerated, but i actually enjoyed it in the end! definitly worthy a Reunion guest release. Here it is: "Show Me More [Original Mix]" Direct Link: http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/083%20-%20Munkie%20-%20Show%20Me%20More%20%5BOriginal%20Mix%5D.mp3 Web: http://www.reunionstudio.org peace peace

Platonist replied to zircon's topic in General Discussion
im sure this will work out fine .. i mean all this negative tension , where does it come from? are you jealous? or angry cause your wips didn't make it? .. i've said it before (not here though) and i'll say it again long live the spirit of will -
new design coming (sooner or later) the dude who made the cover art for the "Vast Present & Future" compilation, has stated that he's interested in doing 2.0 (the logo on the back of the compilation could be a preview of the style) get the album here: http://www.reunionstudio.org there's two download mirrors on the front page

OCR01695 - Final Fantasy VI "Keep Out the Veldt"
Platonist replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
im not a hiphop fan, but i definitly enjoyed listening to this mix the only thing that bothered me was the beat.. i just felt that it lacked some presence. judging from past experience - making awesome/perfect hiphop beats is definitly difficult, so don't be hard on yourself great job and i'm sure you'll manage to give us a more phatass beat next time! -
i got a request from Mustin to remix this song i've been torturing my neighbours with the source ever since i've got some ideas and i'll definitly look into it i'll keep you posted

I decided to present to you another project.. It's called kj lamb, which i started in Reason3 a while ago. It's just a temporary project of 4 songs, and there will be no more. I've started a new Reason 4 project instead, the artisthandle for that one is yet unknown ... with that said, here's my debute as kj lamb: " may I? " /Platonist direct link: http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/082%20-%20kj%20lamb%20-%20may%20I.mp3 web: http://www.reunionstudio.org Enjoy (if you can, haha )

from djpretzel's writeup: "Larry spotted what seems like an allusion to the original main theme from the NES towards the end of the arrangement, but it turns out that wasn't the ReMixer's intention, just a coincidentally similar interval." uhm, NO it WAS intentional, but since it only covers the first of the X chords in the NES theme, it doesn't qualify as a Zelda 1 remix .. if i had done more with the bassline it could've been.. but now i only borrowed the interval, it doesn't mean that i remixed the theme

OCR01685 - Final Fantasy VI "Dirt Devil"
Platonist replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
in some ways i do agree, im very fond of powerful fadeouts, which in this example really IS a monster .. but as many know, including myself - zircon could really set this off in a powerful last BLOW if he'd have the time im not saying that the fadeout is bad, it's awesome either way.. but he COULD .. couldn't he? -
OCR01693 - Solstice "Demnos Inquisitor"
Platonist replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
this is definitly awesome! i might be biased, because i hardcored this game as a child - it's right here on my shelf of fame anyway, great track and congrats to the birth of your child Matt! the only thing that made me "hmm" was the low volume levels, but as the end noise reached me i got that it was on purpose .. nice approach in the end!
