OCR01739 - Super Metroid "Kindred"
The Instrumental Light replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This was definitely a unique and interesting listen. The whole atmosphere and feel of the song was much different than one would come to expect, yet it's quality and sound were superb. And the most impressing part about it is that something this good was done within two days, which still completely boggles my mind. Great work, zircon and pixie! -
Happy Belated Birthday, DJ Pretzel! Don't be too much of this though (lol).

April is Support OCR month

No problem, I was just wondering if you had possibly changed your address recently or anything. Should I try sending it again and see what happens? -
April is Support OCR month
The Instrumental Light replied to big giant circles's topic in Announcements
I don't know why, but the post office mailed me back the letter I sent to OCR with the $5 and it had the sticker on it saying "Return to sender, not deliverable as addressed." This is the address I used: OverClocked ReMix PO Box 223104 Chantilly, VA 20153 Is this correct? Because either the post office made a mistake, or I got the wrong address (I got it off of this website, so it should've worked). -
Super Mario World level that plays music
The Instrumental Light replied to Bigfoot's topic in General Discussion
This is really awesome; I don't think I've found a youtube video in a while that was nearly this entertaining. It probably took months (or longer) to make this video and all the features in it work. Five stars for awesomeness! -
Original Content - A New Project
The Instrumental Light replied to Evil_Ice's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, sounds interesting. I personally wouldn't be able to do anything on it, I really don't have the time currently, but if this gets off the ground it could be pretty darn awesome. Hopefully some other people here will join this so it can get rolling. -

Record deal & new breakbeat single release on Beatport
The Instrumental Light replied to zircon's topic in General Discussion
Congratulations on the release! Yeah, I had seen this on iTunes for some time now but originally I didn't know why it wasn't mentioned here. "System" is definitely some awesome stuff though. But anyway, I hope your successful! -
Hmm, after thinking about it more I can agree with what you said about the song's quality, but I really like the melody. If he polished it up and improved the quality it might be really cool though IMO. And yeah, he's definitely a good guy from what I've seen. But yeah, once again good luck to you and Andy (aw heck, sgx too) in the finals:smile: Edit: Congratulations on making it to the finals!

Yo, everbody. I voted for zircon, Jill and sgx in every battle that they were in; I also became a fan on both of the pages. On the website, it says that the $5000 prize for the music finals goes Jillian Goldin for "Hajime." It also says that zircon's "Breathing You In" is in first place for Techno. Congratulations! Edit: Darn, I didn't know it was already posted.

The Instrumental Light replied to NeoForte's topic in General Discussion
That's really awesome that their having a Mr. Roger's sweater day. I absolutely LOVED that show and still do; I never thought that topic would come up here, but the moment I saw this I had to post. But yeah, I was very surprised and sad when he died. Here's a tribute to an awesome show and man. -

Betilla the Fairy (Rayman 1) Trance Remix
The Instrumental Light replied to Flexstyle's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
This is pretty good stuff. What you have in this song is pretty darn good, but the first half is very repetitive. I'd work on varying it up more; possibly adding an accompaniment such as a flute, strings/violin or piano. Overall, the whole song probably wouldn't make it if you submitted it currently, but it's not very far from the bar. I'd say if you tweaked it up a bit, you could get this passed. Overall quality and arrangement is very good. I'd definitely keep working on this one. Excellent job! -
Indeed, this is a very well written piece. There are a few parts where certain accompaniments don't flow along with the main theme of the song. Maybe it's just me, but I also think a violin accompaniment would have made this piece superb. The ending, I think, needs more interpretation and variety. Other than those few critiques, this is an incredible work; I would most definitely keep working on this one. Outstanding job:smile:
