  1. That would be pretty cool. You make your friends refer to you as "DW"? I always wanted the action figures and either the plain or bike
  2. Man... I got a list of oddball childhood favourites, TMNT/Usagi Yojimbo, Alf, Munsters, Dinosaurs, Muppet Show, Looney Tunes, CHiPs, Get Smart, Marsupilami, Earthworm Jim, Captain Bucky O'Hare, Wild West Cowboys of Moo Mesa, Bonkers, Sonic the Hedgehog, Inspector Gadget, Darkwing Duck, Tail Spin, Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Dinosaucers, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Super Mario, Batman (1966), Gargoyles, Looney Tunes, MacGyver and Knight Rider to name a few :3 And I'll throw in Dragonball and DBZ for good measure. I'm 23 and these are the shows off the top of my head I used to always watch. TMNT is classic... I still watch the first two movies but I did try to watch a few episodes on YouTube only to realize how corny is really is now. I'm sure there are still some golden episodes around but I only saw part of one with, like, the Nutrinos or whatever they were. Usagi Yojimbo for the win in crossovers! Alf is still golden to me, I caught a few episodes on YouTube and I still plan on getting the DVDs sets despite the complaints on what episode versions were put on the discs. Munsters are just way to classic. I loved this show so much. I have an extended MP3 theme somewhere on my computer. Dinosaurs - ahead of its time... very smart, appealed to me as a kid and still hold an appeal to me even as an adult and not even on a nostalgia level... Gotta get the DVDs of this also. Muppet Show is still just as funny as it was then... Gotta get the DVD sets for this. CHiPs - Anyone who watches (or watched) Space Ghost Coast to Coast, my reason for the love of this show is the same as Moltar's, the crazy car chase that each episode build up towards. Get Smart - can't wait for the movie remake with Steve Carell Marsupilami - Cartoon about a yellow marsupial with a crazy cool tail!! I loved it as a kid. I love the idea as an adult. The Disney cartoon apparently sucks (I havn't seen it since I was a kid) but I'd love to find original UK publications of this (animated show? comics?) Bucky O'Hare - oddball cartoon about a green space captain bunny. I havn't seen anything of it except the opening on YouTube. It's probably really bad by now. Cowboys/Moo Mesa - Points of originality. When I found screen caps of the show, looked like a very low production value and could also be the corniest thing I had watched as a kid... So I'd rather just remember it being a favourite of mine from childhood I always liked the darker Sonic seires, not the bright colorful Saturday morning Adventures Of... series. Both shows are quite bad now. Inspector Gadget - I'll just leave that for my childhood memories as being awesome. It was alot of fun finding French and German language versions of the opening song. I love the "cover song" Dr.Steel did for the theme. Dinosaucers and Cadillacs and Dinosaurus - another couple shows I see no love for. I found the opening for both shows online (YouTube?) they're probably really bad now however... But I remember them being quite cool. I threw Dragonball and DBZ in there... Dragonball was my first intro to anime when I was in 5th grade... I dont know what year that was... but both shows qualify as 80's cartoons anyway Even if they took a 'lil time coming over here (Maybe they qualify for 90's?) You sir, rock
  3. I heard Guitar Hero 3 still has a more rocking soundtrack then Rock Band And is it becoming a common issue that all the pieces are breaking? I still have yet to get Rock Band... and I still dont own a 360 or PS3 (or Wii for that matter) There is a PS2 version as well ... Is this confirmed?
  4. I got pretty excited to see there will be a CG movie made oversees. It looks really good so far and this is only just a really early look at the movie as well. The trailer is included in the special features of Resident Evil Extinction. Ya, so have we all. Its a very old rumor and lets hope its not real X_X There are also old rumors of there being a live action Cowboy Bebop movie as well...
  5. Aren't they, like, 10 years too late to blame Mortal Kombat?! And I more wanna know how that game's name got listed as being the source they imitated. It's surprising and sick that those two would do that... even more so that they barley mentioned brother, "Roberts" was downstairs drunk and playing video games. He was barley mentioned and he was drinking and not supervising... I think he shoudl be put away too as being an accomplice Sick sad and wrong. But ya, the next most important thing, I think, outside of taking care of what to do with the murderers... How did Mortal Kombat end up in that story? I agree, I thought I was about to read that someone broke up someone elses' chest and ripped there heart out or something. "Hit, kicked and body slammed" is pretty much common in all fighter games and you can see it more easly on TV in Wrestling, as Calpis pointed out. Same with school shooters and so on... there is something mentally wrong with the girls that they may not dive into any further exploring if they are pointing there fingers at video games.
  6. heh I actually like that image of breakdancing Mario from the DDR Mario Mix. It's quite fitting for an image for the subject matter. haha wow I had a tape recorder also and recorded video game music from the TV speaker... i thought I was brilliant when I was starting to do that XD I do agree about the "bad" VGM. Very true. It was a very good read, I did enjoy it a bit. And ya, the questions were not your average run-of-the-mill stuff. Honestly... the very reason this site was made.... Its been something I been looking for for years. There has always been gaming remixes (maybe random DJs for clubs or something) and covers from bands (Tetris and ska bands seem popular)... and once I stumbled on to Mega Man, Zelda and Mario remixes... I wanted to find more! And I would remember searching the internet, which I was still new at at that time, for such music (I remember having classes in grade school on how to use the internet since it was new to the school and no one was really to good at it). I have always loved the Corneria theme from the SNES Star Fox and have always been looking for a remix... instead I found an arranged version which I was satisfied with too And since I have found OCR... I have safely quenched my thirst for now... but I can tell I'm still thirsty for more! Anyways, the very existence of this site and its purpose is comprised of everything I been searching for since I was much younger. There are still a ton of games I hope to see mixes for. And a ton more that have spots but no music anymore (Earthworm Jim, Mortal Kombat and so on) I'd love to help out but I don't have the resources (thoguht I'm tempted to read through the tutorials) and I dont know jack shit about composing music anyways X_X Bonus points to you for being a fan of Luigi and the sweet signature However your mom is the crazy one... since obviously others are into it... its the reason there is a site with music on it If you were the only one, I'd suspect we wouldn't be here hah
  7. You're right... I vote on Earthworm Jim
  8. First time I read the topic, I thought it said "Russel Crow blew himself up!!" lol
  9. Thanks, I'll give it a shot, I'll track something down thin enough. This has been my SNES since it was bundled with Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past and I was still in grade school... its lasted this long and I have always kept it active (just never quite as active as the current consoles ) If I can keep it running for a few years more, excellent! Any other tips if the above mentioned does not work?
  10. Hmm... sounds like it could work.... I never thought it could come up with build up like that. You have tried this and it has worked for you then? I would think wrapping cloth around a credit card with be too thick to stick in the slot... but hmmm... I may have a thin enough cleaning washcloth thing in the laundry room.,..
  11. of PS2? I thought Wii and 360 were doing better while PS3 was having technical issues
  12. Hey, so I decided to randomly play Earthworm Jim 2 again and the graphics are all glitchy, cleaned the game several times and tried again with no change. Switched to Jurassic Park Chaos Continues and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 with similar glitchy results. I have no idea how to clean out my SNES.... it's not like its sat out for awhile... It was working fine a few months ago (earlier in the year atleast). It's sitting on my TV with my Gamecube in my room so its not like I have had it in storage collecting dust or anything. I'm at a loss What do you all suggest? I have tried compressed air can and turning the console upside to shake anything loose... I tried alcohol and Q-tips but the q-tips just get ripped apart in the console it seems (Sorry for the double post... I was trying to figure out how to delete the one in "off topic" after realizing I put it in the wrong thread)
  13. Has anyone noticed a halt in PS2 Guitar Hero 3 w/ wireless Kramer Guitar bundles and seen more PS2 Guitar Hero 3 w/ Red Gibson SG (from GH2) bundles? I have been trying to look online for the reason behind this and I'm not finding one. I own only the PS2 and now hoping my Kramer does not break (my original black Gibson from the first game's launch held up until I replaced it for the Kramer) if there is a discontinue of wireless Kramer's... I haven't seen anything list for technical problems or poor sales. Any of you notice or hear anything?
  14. I am the same with Chrono Trigger. that was the only game I played for what seemed like years back when it came out (not sure exactly but I'm amazed the game works... I think the cartridge is glitched so I can always be "Not Guilty" even if I do everything wrong in the times square in the beginning)
  15. 1.) What is your favorite game series? Resident Evil and I also highly enjoy the two original Earthworm Jim titles 2.) What is the game series you are best at? Umm... Donkey Kong Country? maybe Star Fox? as cliche as it sounds Final Fantasy? 3.) What game from your favorite game series is your favorite? Defiantly the remake of the original on the Gamecube. Resident Evil 2 and 4 are close to next for top favourites. 4.) What games in your favorite series do you OWN (Rentals and Past Ownership don't count, though you can include Past Ownership if you note those). Resident Evil 0 Resident Evil (Remake) Resident Evil 2 (both PSX and Gamecube) Resident Evil 3 Nemesis (currently only the PSX original) Resident Evil Code: Veronica X (both PS2 and Gamecube) Resident Evil 4 (Gamecube and Wii when I can find one) Resident Evil Outbreak (PS2) and since I mentioned it above: Earthworm Jim (Genesis) Earthworm Jim 2 (SNES) 5.) WHY is your favorite game series your favorite, and why would you suggest others to look into it? The survival horror aspect and zombies are very cool... and with each entry into the main storyline atleast each game has a new feel with familiar touches and the series feels like its improving... though RE4 is a bit quick and feels a little too "casual" and not as engrossing as previous titles. The REmake is the first video game to really freak me out while I was playing it... I only played it at dark and, maybe freaked out isn't a great word to describe it... but I have never been so engrossed into a title and to also jump at certain moments of the game and to see the story unwind... It's an amazing retelling of the original and an amazing series IMHO. You are almost forced to play smart in order to survive since health and ammo can be scarce at times... You can't really get away with blasting zombies left and right and powering your way to the end.. figuring out the puzzles are alot of fun too.
  16. Live and Learn sounded exactly the same from whichever Sonic Adventure title it came from... o_0 His appearance didn't surprise me. The video was nice too! He looks solid as a fighter from what they showed... I wouldn't be surprised if Tails and Knuckles were assists or came into help Sonic with special attacks. Atleast the first Mario/Sonic game now, as we know, is destined to be epic! The Olympics title... not entirly sure about.
  17. True stroy. On subject... I have never heard of the series. I'm diggin' BECK right now, however. Anime about music, and its really good
  18. I think thats a great idea... however I have no idea what I would like to see it do... Giving out updates on new remix releases would be cool... I like that idea
  19. Shaun of the Dead - Great soundtrack full of English groups all from the movie... very fun. Best part is how the entire CD blends together like one night club/deejay mega-mix where the end of the song will blend into dialog from the movie and back into another song. It is a top favourite album of mine (I had to import it). The "You Got Red On You: Shaun of the Dead suit" which is basically a 10min cut of original score is almost a bonus to have since it is all the original score from the movie as one song. Highly recommend this album. I'm still trying to get the import Hot Fuzz album since its playlist is different from the domestic version
  20. Advent Children I thought was a great soundtrack with alot of original compositions and the new versions of classic songs were so powerful... I loved it. Roger Rabbit's soundtrack was/ is exceptionally good due to what they did... they took the cartoon aspect and the old 50s style detective noir and seamlessly blended it into an epic (Ya, I said epic) and catchy score! Interesting you referenced the original sources name (I think it was a novel) Requiem for a Dream is a movie I still need to see but the well known title theme is just SOO good! And I do fully agree with you about the score... thats kinda more what this topic is about... but for Resident Evil (which I mentioned in my first topic) there are alot of band music and most of it are not in the movie... The song names seem relevant to the series (I'm So Sick, Losing, One Love, White Rabbit, Paralyzed, Contagious etc) however the music is not so much. I was really hyped for the TMNT soundtrack after seeing the movie in theaters. I was impressed with the fact there was a theme and there was a score and it changed through the movie... made it feel a bit more "mature" rather then popcorn kid fare by just having a buncha licensed songs playing. However there are no OST score available for TMNT and its soundtrack is a buncha pop groups and some rap on it, ultimately pretty lame in my big especially when these are MTV type fare groups whom I dont listen to... Amazingly enough if you pay attention... alot of the same groups appear on multiple soundtracks... I believe, like, half the bands on TMNT are also on the Transformers soundtrack as well... Really? I had owned it at some point and eventually got rid of it. I liked that they did bring in a buncha "metal" type groups to cover the songs in movie that John Davis had sung so it atleast had a different feel. I think Static X is the only group of that soundtrack who I own CDs from and do occasionally listen to lol Rob Dougan is the man... I'm still trying to find Furious Angles again... I skipped mentioning Matrix 'cus it was a 'lil too obvious heh. It is a killer soundtrack and I love how they released seperate score and "music from and inspired by" discs for all but, like, the 3rd movie or so So he's the only reasson to own anythign with M Nights name on it, eh?
  21. So I was working at Universal Studios.... j/k This thread is actually what the name implies... What are movies with good soundtracks worth checking out (or avoiding)? This could be past forgotten films/ soundtracks or under appreciated and overlooked movies/ soundtracks or the more obvious soundtracks that everyone should already know are good. This is to kinda help filter bad movie soundtracks from the good ones... or to make it known that the soundtrack that plays during the movie is better/ worse then the OST available for purchase. I'll start by pointing out that the 300 soundtrack is epic and powerful. Worth buying Bourne Ultimatum has a really good score available... My favourites being the ones you could get in trouble with the law for while driving to it :3 Worth buying (I got it the next day after I saw the movie) Resident Evil: Extinction had a better soundtrack for the movie. Parts of the score (done by Charlie Clouser) reminded me of both the original score by Manson in the first film and of some of the games ambient backgrounds, both of which were welcoming to my ears (and the driving force behind my purchase of the album). The movie also contained "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" which was an unusual yet fitting and welcomed song to hear while the convoy was cruising through the desert wastelands of Nevada. The soundtrack available for purchase itself is, unfortunately, not as great as it could have been. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is missing all together but there is a fairly good "remix" cover of White Rabbit/ Go Ask Alice (which does play during the movies closing credits) by the group Collide (its the SPC ECO Mix according to the OSTs tracklist). The female vocals on this song sounded like it coulda have been Milla Jovovich (she is a singer and it would have been welcomed had she done some vocal work on any of the albums) however wasn't. The score, the reasson I wanted the album, vary in length but seems to be between 20sec to 45sec in length... there are 4 pieces of the score through out the album (similar to the first movies soundtrack where the 4 original tracks were kept at the end of the album). They are woth the listen but needed to have been a bit longer. The rest of the album are power and speed metal acts with yelling, banshee and demon screaming and the likes... There are a few good songs but overall it can get to be a little much. Only worth it if you can get a reduced price on the album but even that may be a little more then what its worth.
  22. I havn't seen the Feather mentioned... just that winged characters can glide now. Wouldn't Mario's cape from SMW be annoying if you're trying to glide back on it and adjusting the up/down to catch air? I think they should include the Tanooki Suit for Mario and Luigi
